Christian Bolz Personally, If I'm interested in the guy, i'll let him take the tab on the first date. If i'm not interested or feel awkward, then I'll split the bill. I honestly don't even care if I pay the whole bill myself if I'm not interested cause at that point, I'm like "Just take my money, I just want to go home". And I'll see the date as more of a networking exchange and just a chat over dinner with someone, no biggie since I eat out quite often with friends and people. But I do prefer the guy to take the bill on first date If I like him. If he doesn't, it's kind of a turn off for me and I feel he may not be that "generous" in general not just financially but also in other aspect of his life. And that's just not my cup of tea since I'm quite generous (beside financially) and I would like someone more giving, if that makes any sense. (And yes, i do know i'm placing labels and making generalization without really knowing someone but I do think the small things shows part of someone's personalty or how they were raised).
