I know it's already been said but: The cervix thing is *absolutely* bullshit. Even after cervical softeners, medication to spur dilation, and it being my second time having an IUD, the nurses still had me stay after they replaced my first one due to the amount of pain I was in and the serve nausea (I was wearing an army green sweater that day--a nurse commented that my face was of the same color) I was experiencing. And it's not like I'm a stranger to pain with the amount of trips I've made to urgent care or the ER for illness and injury (not that I'm some hardcore badass, I'm not, just saying it wasn't my first exposure to physical distress). The cervix doesn't *like* to dilate (for it's own safety, for the wellbeing of the uterus, trust me, it's for the best) which is why it takes TRAINED OB/GYNS with MULTIPLE TOOLS and sometimes MEDICATIONS to force it to open *just enough* to put in a tiny little device. And I'm supposed to believe that some person's cervix just hangs out of the vagina? Do you know how many medical issues that would cause?
