Fun fact. You can get all electronics parts wet and it’ll be fine as long as you don’t add a power source to the circuit. I work on original classic arcade machines and people have been known to throw pcbs in their dishwasher to clean dirt and dust off it. The only catch is, make sure it is bone dry before power runs through the circuit or it’ll be game over.

If you wash the parts in water, rinse them with isopropyl alcohol and they'll dry faster. In fact you should probably swap out whatever other cleaner you were using for the electronic parts with alcohol.

Great job! It's a lot of fun taking apart theses things. You should look at doing some gameboy mods. I know you've made a few videos of people sending you moded handhelds, maybe you should make one yourself! :-D

Regular maintenance every year or so, and some preventative mods (metal sticks on a switch pro stops the white dandruff from happening and getting into the contacts) are key!

It’s a multishine controller, they are custom controllers, think kind of like scuf (not exactly but the same concept). So they come made that way, but I also think you can buy just the faceplates with the cutouts in them too for considerably less than buying the whole controller.
