In today's video I'm taking you guys around with me & sharing what I eat in a day! I am all about eating real food as much as possible (as that's what fuels me and makes me feel my best) but I am very passionate about intuitive eating as well. I do not cut any foods or food groups out, aim for balance, and listen to my body & take its cues on what and how much to eat :)

Hi, love your videos!! Justed wanted to make you aware that I believe there were studies that found high levels of lead in various brands of chocolate, including that one from Trader Joes. Such a bummer because I was a huge fan of their chocolate as well!!

hi! curious about why you don't worry about the WHO advice/science regarding processed meat/red meat and cancer? Both have been declared carcinogens by the WHO... I know you avoid products and fragrances for risk of toxic exposure/bioaccumulation over time... but don't seem to worry too much about processed meat/red meat. Even grass fed, organic, local, grass finished, all the buzzwords meats carry the same risks.... no judgement and also no pressure to be perfect... just wondering your thought process on making these sorts of choices.

Just wondering, arent you concerned about cardiovascular disease? As someone with familial hyperlipidemia who doesnt want to be on statins and such, I cringe at the high saturated fats/cholesterol you are promoting. I avoid them as much as possible and must follow Esselystns approach to avoid cardiovascular disease. WHich is working. Thankfully even with an LDL of 200, I have no inflammation and no plaques/blockages and a 0 calcium score but they would be sky high if I followed your dietary advice. Just wondering considering that the number one cause of mortality is cardiovascular disease how this is promoted as healthy?
@BeccaBristow
@BeccaBristow Жыл бұрын
I am a big believer in traditional eating - eating the way our ancestors did. They did not shy away from consuming saturated animal fat (from high quality sources). Heart disease rates were extremely low a hundred or so years ago :)
@claudinestone6152

@@BeccaBristow 100 years ago, the amount of fat in meats and our farming was very different leading to more hormones/fats in meats. Also the amount of meat, oils and fats we ate back then were different. If you look at cultures which have low cardiovascular disease, you are looking at places like rural Africa and Asia etc where their diet is mostly grains and vegetables and low in fat and animal products. Once they start to eat the western diet thats higher in animal products, they have the same rates of heart disease as we do. So although I agree with you on your premise, the amount of animal products we used to eat in cultures with low heart disease and those still with low heart disease, isnt eating the amount of saturated fats and animal products you promote. But if you have good genetics to enjoy this richer diet, thats great. But genetically thats not me and I want to stay free of cardiovascular disease. Your diet is very balanced so rich in nutrients. I just would not call it heart healthy though. I still appreciate the information you give nutritionally though which is probably enough for most people and healthier than the standard diet!

Saturated fats are stable and actually great for you! It’s the vegetable oils/pufas that should be limited. Eggs are one of the most nutrient dense foods, and dietary cholesterol is not the same as blood cholesterol :)

@@daleighwelch have you read any of the peer reviewed scientific studies or are you going by internet “drs?” I go by evidence based science which has been around for decades. Even if you look at studies during WW11, it was only when meats and dairy was limited during the wartime that mortality decreased and cardiovascular disease plummeted. We ate more produce and the meats, dairy and oils were limited. If you look at the Pritkin, True North, Esselstyn studies and on and on and on and on, the whole food plant based diet LOW in fat, especially saturated fats, not only decrease mortality but can even reverse heart disease. But if you get your information off the internet instead of evidence based science, there is no reason to argue over pseudoscience or your belief system. I stick with science. And from my own experience, diet DOES change cholesterol. Even for me if I add in coconut oil, my LDL will increase greatly, easily 60pts with 1 tsp even. If I ate meat, grass fed/organic, even, my total would be 500 and I would have plaques and blockages like the rest of my family who eats “healthy.” I eat a wfpb diet low in fat and cut that in half and have no plaques nor blockages. If your premise were true, this would not have happened with our different diets as we have the same genes lol. Anyways it seems you base your knowledge on whats popular over the internet so there is no reason to argue if you do not follow evidence based science. Yes oils are processed and also somewhat high in saturated fats too and contraindicated for heart disease also. That is correct.
