Noel’s first 2 albums are some of his best work imo. They are 2 of the 4 Gallagher albums without any skippers on for me (The others being DM & WTSMG)

Council Skies 1. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds self titled album. The first solo Noel album contains songs that can rival any Oasis songs. If I Had a Gun, AKA Broken Arrow, Wanna Live in a Dream, A Simple Game of Genius are some of the best songs of the decade.

12:10 Freaky Teeth is also on this album as a bonus track. That really could have been a James Bond song. It was that good.

The b-sides of Noel Gallagher debut album are fucking amazing, and much better than the whole album! Alone on the rope A simple game of Genius Let the lord shine a light on me All are great songs, Noel is definitely the best songwriter of the 90s, or easily top 3.

In no conceivable reality has Liam matched Noel's solo output.

I'd argue that As You Were and Different Gear are as good as Noel's stuff

@RockSquad yeah, no. Even if you didn't remove his experimental songs, which I enjoyed, the overall quality of the high flying birds stuff is levels above. Music is subjective and I get that but I don't feel you could honestly compare the output of these guys and put them on the same level. Not only is Noel doing it alone with no celebrity writer/producers but by in large the songs are just simply better. Noel's voice is also much better.

Liam’s first two solo albums are decent. But I agree Noel tops him musically, they aren’t on the same level. However I will say that I’m Outta Time is amongst some of the best Oasis songs for me and Liam wrote that one. I didn’t get past the first Beady Eye album, just not for me.

Noel is a better songwriter and musician, and an underrated singer and frontman Liam is a better singer and frontman and an underrated songwriter Swings and roundabouts really, as we say. They’re better together Having said that all of Noel and Liam’s albums are solid 8/10 at least for me, they’ve both smashed it in the studio and live. Especially liam recently , his voice is back to its best, liam is the spirit and soul of Oasis, simple as that. I still can’t get my head round how council skies is Noel’s least successful album for for over 20 yrs , it’s fking epic.

I have to admit I’m totally team Noel. Liam has a handful of songs I listen to, but they just don’t compare to Noel’s songs. That’s just me. Only Beady Song that ever hit me was Flick of the Finger. Let’s face it, Gem, Andy, and Liam are great at what they do, but songwriting wasn’t one of them. Solid list. I actually like Noel’s EP’s. He keeps growing and trying new things which keeps things fresh.

While i would put chasing yesterday at number 2 . I think you did a great job ! .. .I do have to agree with what a few people have said, though. In no way are Noel and Liam on the same level. I know its just your option but there some things in the world that are facts no matter your preference. For example whether you like classical music or not , it is amazing music that has been scientifically proven to better human existence. You take noels top 10 best songs and compare them to Liams top 10 songs and i think you'll find that noels beat out liams most times. Or even here you look at noels first album compare it to liams first and you put noels first. You did the same thing with their second & third. I just tried to do the top ten thing i mention but I am having a hard time deciding which noel songs are his top ten because even his b sides are in the mix. While on the other hand I can easily pick Liams top 10 songs. I believe that in itself says alot. But you try it maybe its just me. I just think we expect so much more from Noel because he's set the bar high that sometimes take for granted his genius.
