Great video. Both you and Jim have done a good job identifying the differences between the UK and North America when it comes to ponds. Here our weather combined with the lack of reasonably priced pond products definitely restricts the growth of the koi/goldfish hobby. The UK on the other hand has, as you noted, well equipped koi dealers almost everywhere through the country...more accessibility equals more interest in the hobby. I don't think we'll ever see that in Canada unfortunately. Thanks for the shout outs by the way. 👍🏻👍🏻🇨🇦

Great video guys. Honored to be featured. To answer your question about UV, its external setup and hidden behind the 36" biofalls on the koi pond. Passes through the UV prior to the biofalls. Look forward to the growing season and hopefully have some spawns to relocate into my smaller pond later this summer 😊. Thanks again for the amazing video and review of the various setups. Great food for thought when considering to build.

Hi, first time on your channel and very impressive 👍I think main reason uk ponds are raised is so we don’t have to dig very far down . Looking forward to catching up on more of your videos.

Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Graham and welcome. Yeah I think that you guys have much milder Winters and it's easier for you to see and heat them and raise pond here especially in Canada. I have to go with an inground pond cuz it just gets too cold and it would be impossible to heat. Plus like you, I like the inground ponds. Very good video Chris. It’s amazing to think you guys across the pond like what we do and we like what you do for pond types 😂. I think the fact that koi availability is the reason why we are so different. Our technologies availability is because of the amount of dealers available. I would love to have a store over there. The issue you have is the harsh winters which I think is the main reason so many don’t have ponds or why koi isn’t as popular as over here. Keep up the good work.

I've had a pond forever, before koi were popular garden features . I feel like a quality koi is too over priced. You can buy junk koi for cheap but anything that has quality at all. We were historically prevented from speaking English, so please spare me the bad parts. Of course, it depends on the location, but the climate there has hot summers just like ours. Especially in Atlanta, the climate is said to be almost the same as ours. So you have nothing to learn from England or Europe, and I hope you will communicate more with Japanese hobbyists and imitate them so that you can improve each other!
