If you’re trying to figure out if someone is a problem drinker, the first thing you need to know is something that only the drinker can answer. If you feel comfortable enough, you can ask the drinker this question: Have you ever felt you should cut back on your drinking?
If a person who drinks is uncomfortable with how much he or she is drinking, that means that they are probably drinking excessively and on some level, aware of it.
Some problem drinkers have decided to cut back and found themselves unable to do so, while other problem drinkers might not have gotten past the stage of thinking about cutting back. In any case, a drinker who thinks they are drinking too much is usually right.
Some behavioral signs of alcohol abuse can include:
Increasing legal troubles, such as assault, domestic abuse, or drunk driving
Showing up intoxicated at work, a family function, or a meeting
Yo-yoing: which is drinking and then stopping in a repeated pattern over time
Overreacting to any perceived criticism levelled against their drinking
Experiencing increasing financial problems
Stealing and likely lying about it
When a person who regularly abuses alcohol stops drinking or significantly reduces the amount of intake, withdrawal symptoms will emerge.
Symptoms can include shaking, anxiety, and the desire for a drink. Delirium tremens (DTs), a severe withdrawal symptom, can include confusion, fever, and rapid heartbeat.
There is a general advisement that alcohol withdrawal should occur under the care of a doctor specialized in addiction treatment, as some withdrawal symptoms can be life-threatening.
Like many addictive substances, it can be challenging to overcome an alcohol problem. There are several physiological and psychological factors that must be attended to during your journey towards getting sober. With the right motivation and support, however, you can get clean from alcohol.

My mother has used alcohol to cope with her strenuous job (ER doctor). I am only 20 and have realized that through growing up in a household where it’s used on an almost daily basis has been pretty bad for my stance on the substance. Realizing I have to tone down my habit has made me come to the realization that no matter what or how a substance may make you feel the first few times, you will always be chasing that feeling, compared to being completely sober where you make those feelings for yourself.

What are the signs or symptoms of alcoholism? A lack of interest in previously normal activities. Appearing intoxicated more regularly. Needing to drink more in order to achieve the same effects. Appearing tired, unwell or irritable. An inability to say no to alcohol. Anxiety, depression or other mental health problems.

Ex drunk here. Got up to 30 a day. Passed out at work with .55 BAC. Only had 6-8 drinks that morning. Felt my soul leaving my body. Told a couple guys I was dying. Sat down. Vision went black. Talked to the Lord. Woke up to EMTs. Gave my life to Christ. There is freedom ONLY in submission to God. Otherwise You are a slave to carnal desires. Havent so much as thought about a drink in 3 years and am around it constantly. NO AA needed. Christ will transform you Reply with ANY questions, my story, yours, doubt the validity of christianity? No problem. I have answers and check my notifications daily. God bless

One thing this video never mentions is "Functional Alcoholics" People that can maintain a job, get through meetings sober, not drive drunk, not be violent or abusive etc, etc, But can still get away with drinking way too much due to circumstances.

What this video got wrong is the part about "yo-yoing"---alcoholism is an addiction that can't be turned on and off like a light switch, and there's no such thing as a part-time alcoholic. A true alcoholic shudders at the thought of going without a drink for an entire day

Drinking is forbidden in Islam. Do you know how many crimes, murders, accidents, problems that happen because of drinking around the world? Too much! But guess what? It is forbidden for a muslim to drink but God promised it in paradise! Allah says in Quran [the English translation of the arabic meanings of Quran] : (The description of the Paradise promised to the righteous is that in it are rivers of fresh water, rivers of milk that never changes in taste, rivers of wine delicious to drink, and rivers of pure honey. There they will ˹also˺ have all kinds of fruit, and forgiveness from their Lord. ˹Can they be˺ like those who will stay in the Fire forever, left to drink boiling water that will tear apart their insides?) chapter 47, verse 15 And a fact that The wine of the hereafter is much better than the one of this world!!!
