Was your anxiety getting better and then suddenly got worse again. Anxiety recovery can be a difficult journey. Just as you think you are recovering from anxiety, suddenly you have a panic attack for no reason or a bout of health anxiety. The journey to anxiety recovery can be hard and anxiety relapses can be very demoralising when your anxiety had been getting better. So I explain what causes your anxiety to suddenly get worse again and how to deal with it.

Neuroplasticity is the key. The reason why it seems that fighting anxiety paradoxically makes it stronger is because neuroplasticity makes the anxiety connections stronger. More people need to understand this.

This was quite a reassuring video to watch. After experiencing stress / panic attack / anxiety attack in September this year and never experiencing anything like this in my 44 years of life, it threw me off balance. From watching your videos, I now see some of the anxiety was health anxiety following a 40+ check up at my doctors and they noted my blood pressure was a little high. What did I focus on..!! I did all the 'don'ts' and fueled the anxiety then creating symptoms in my head and made my BP even higher. It look weeks of self reassurance and breathing the link but seeing videos like yours, really helps apply the physical aspect to the brain function so on 23rd December, I had my first relapse in a large gathering at a dinner party. I was able to recognise it, breath and break the cycle but not fully. It's thrown me off balance a bit and old symptoms have returned but at a lesser degree. I had actually felt like I was 95% recovered but taken a few steps back but knowing recovery is a journey and there will be challenges on the way. So, thank you again for sharing this video. It really helps re-enforce positive thoughts and it's normal to relapse on the journey.

I've suffered panic attacks and anxiety since 2000, the fear is outrageous but it does always pass, but I'm back to bloody anxiety again which has led me to your videos, and I've got to agree everything you say is bang on Martin. though I've been to therapy and was diagnosed with GAD, everything did seem to fade away now its back just as intense though the fear is much weaker than before, I,ll give this a try hopefully I can get rid of this forever. thanks very much for your time and info Martin.

I can relate to you very much. I've been dealing with anxiety since 2016 and it started with a massive panic attack that lasted for a month. I got so traumatised that I'm afraid of being afraid. Managed it within around a year with some relapses but for the past 3 years I've been doing great. 1 full year with no meds at all. But it just came back due to a trigger so I again scheduled visits to doctors, googled and I can't stop thinking. Very tough one

This video was very helpful. I was doing so good, started feeling normal but yesterday was a bit stressful and behold I was awaken from my sleep in a full blown panic attack mode. It was so confusing 😫.

Nice. I loved this one. But I want to tell you one thing that I used to smoke cigarettes so much and I quit smoking all of a sudden and before I felt heart attack issues and now I'm thinking that I'm having a paralysis and I'm not getting rid of this feeling but whenever I feel that I'm having a fast heart rate and also blood pressure is high. Please tell me how I can get strong with this 😢
