As someone who is the same age as you...I grew up a Elvis fan. By the time he died I had every single album he had put out. I bought his moody blue album a month before he died and it was a blue see through album. I was raised in kokomo Indiana and I got to see him at Market square arena in July of 77. One month later he died. We had just picked up my mother from work at Delco Electronics and stopped at Marsh Supermarket. I sat in the car listening to the radio while my parents were grocery shopping. The news of Elvis passing away came over the radio. It devastated me. My parents came out of the store and I told them what I had just heard. I bought everything about Elvis including the book Elvis what happened. I never heard of you back then. But I wish I knew you back then. We probably would have been great friends. My bucket list consists of visiting Graceland. That's it. Never seen it. But I also hear that it's a dangerous area. I have had a heart attack and they put a stint in and on Satins for the rest of my life. Not looking like I will ever get to see Graceland. The next best thing would be to meet you and shake your hand. If you are ever going to be in the Cleveland Ohio area I would love to meet you and your family. It would be a honor. Peace and love my friend.
@michaelshatilla8188 ай бұрын
Awesome u got to see him in concert. Anyway I had a stent put in back in 2016 and recently had a quadruple bypass. No reason why you cant go to Graceland and see where it all took place. I went there a few years back and plan on doing it 1 more time. Don't put it off you'll regret it. Yeah I heard it's not safe also but if you stay at the hotel at graceland you'll be fine. I think all true Elvis fans need to go at least once. Stay well

Only God knows the time and the place. Elvis was larger than life and my heart breaks every time I see him on stage but he did not belong to us, he belonged to God. He went according to God’s timing. I pray he is resting in Heaven. He is finally home.

I appreciate your answer to the question about Linda Thompson. " no one was going to change Elvis but Elvis " Perfect answer as hard as it is to hear it's the truth. I wish that he could have used the book " Elvis What Happened?" To his advantage and seen it as Perfect time to prove everyone wrong that might have said or thought he'd never change. He died not knowing how truly loved he really was.

You really do need to look at the bigger picture and try to put yourself in the shoes that Red, Sonny and Dave were in, especially Red and Sonny. This is what alot of fans don't do. To try and understand why the book was written and how they felt being fired by Vernon and given 2 weeks money after all the years they worked, and being so close to Elvis for so many years. If anyone was betrayed it was Red and Sonny.

Yes I think so too. I believe the boys really thought they could wake Elvis up, . It backfired. They knew Elvis from high school.Lisa didn’t like them, which is understandable. It’s unfortunate Coincidence ten days after the book. It did stress him out, but even without book,his health was so bad. And Elvis was also stubborn. Despite all his physical health problems, I think exhaustion, boredom, and depression killed him. I still am a great fan , he was human, but also in his mind under pressure to be Elvis Presley. He loved his fans. But he would have been shocked at the grief that came out, and 46 year vigil. When he thought b he just made a good living like orher singer’s. I went to Vigil this year. But really think Elvis would say, “ enough is enough with vigils, I really appreciate, but that belongs to the lord” visiting his grave and tours I don’t think he’d mind, but Elvis always V said “ there is only one King, Christ “. As beautiful cad vigils are I think after 50th anniversary. Maybe evey 5 years. Even I felt a little guilty. But I don’t regret. Who knows what future will bring! But one advantage, a new generation is learning a oboist this man. But as long as people remember Elvis was not Christ, he was devoted to the lord though. Maybe Christ gave him that purpose, he didn’t have to preach, one gospel song in his concerts, plus a gospel album, which won a Grammy. He did good works, but he had human flaws too. He was kind of like an apostle of Christ, those men were not perfect either, Peter denied Christ three times, yet he founded a church. His short life I think was meant to be

I shouldn't throw my 2 cents in but i have to. in all the conversations E and i had over the 10 years of our friendship you are correct no one could of changed Elvis and i never tried to do so, So many people have asked me why i didn't help him and that hurts a lot because he was his own man and i wouldn't of had it any other way. We never got into any heavy conversations about what he did or didn't do because at the end of the day it was his life. I love and enjoy your video's very much. I’ve read Ginger Alden’s book, she explains on the night Elvis died, she herself was heavily medicated due to her menstrual pain which Elvis’s nurse gave to her. For people out there to hint that she wasn’t attentive enough is very nasty because one cannot fathom being so young and finding the man you’re in love with as well as being as important as Elvis dead on the bathroom floor. There’s endless possibilities if he had lived and changed but he didn’t. Fans should enjoy the legacy left by this man and stop the bickering of what if?? It does not help anyone

No doubt it must've been very hard and troublesome for Elvis. Some of the yes men turned their back on him and later on tried to justify it, as some sort of wake up call. As long as the money was there, it was fine and when that disappeared by being fired, they tried to capitalize on the book, it seems. Anyway, have a nice rockin' weekend and thanks for keeping up this great channel.

Think it was Red and Sonny taking care of Elvis. This is why Elvis needed those guys around him. They gave 20+ years to be there for Elvis 24/7. Elvis was their friend and for them to see Elvis slowly go downhill and them not being able to help him cause he rejected any help, then getting fired and given 2 weeks notice and not even by Elvis but by Vernon must have been hard to take. This is what some fans don't think about.
