OMG. I have been searching for a tutorial such as this for awhile. I’ve been painting watercolor for about a year and have definitely made progress. However, finding your tutorials has made a huge difference in the way I approach and think about painting. Thank you!

Thank you for this. It was a wakeup call in a way. I get really irritated and frustrated if what I imagined is not showing up on the paper. I then consider the painting a failure and want to junk it. Others see it differently, though. Because they don't know what I imagined when I started, they tell me that it works and is a keeper.

Another inspiring and thought provoking video Angela. I’m impatient and find it hard to move away from original photo. I recognise that it’s way better to use it as a starting point and then work with the magic that unfolds in front of me. I love watching you paint… thank you 🙏🏻

Excellent tutorial. Like someone else commented, I find it’s so easy to get caught up in how I want the painting to go rather than following the often more exciting cues that I’m getting from what’s on the page. What a gifted teacher and artist you are. Thank you ❤

I just finished a painting that was drastically different from my original plan. How funny that you talked today about allowing that to happen. At one point I told myself, oh well, I’ll use this piece to experiment on and then toss it. But I really like how it came out. What fun that was! You’re always inspiring. Love Rockwell paints too!

So helpful! Love the blue in the sky. Is it the cobalt blue that’s listed? It looks like cerulean but more translucent.

Ok I'm a beginner...a very early learner. But I have to say that very large white area in the corner just looks so odd to me. I do not recall ever seeing a painting with a large white area such as this. But ok I suppose I should be quiet since you are the expert. I will continue to watch. It is interesting to learn from you and others.

I have a question. What does the bottom left corner of your painting represent? it looks like a field of white …it can’t be white snow (that doesn’t work). Is it white beach? Why does it look unfinished there? Why aren’t there details? It’s the foreground. I really liked the tutorial. But I feel puzzled by that one spot.Thank you in advance of your answer. Best wishes.😊
@angelfehr
@angelfehr Жыл бұрын
It's just white space. I often leave my foreground simple or unfinished. In reference photos that area is the most detailed because it's the closest to the camera, but when we take photographs we are usually looking far out into the distance, so obsessing over detail at the bottom of the page can actually pull the viewer away from looking into the distance. Sometimes I'll add more detail along the bottom than I did in this quick demo painting, but I like to keep it simple.
