Like roaming millennial she's a pretty girl talking to a mostly male dominated audience looking for female validation. Conservatives are mostly men, so they are pretty much starved for females that agree with them, when they see someone like roaming or Lauren all their critical thinking goes out the window. I think the same goes to Lauren and Roaming. I think they truly believe what they preach, but they have a lot of confirmation bias, and are surrounded by fanboys that mindlessly listen to whatever they say so no one really pushes them to seek the truth. They just live in their own bubble

That's why "left" should be more careful with religion, shouldn't welcome religious people with open arms because religion values often perfectly matching with "right"'s. So in a goal to be all-inclusive "left" accepting people with values which directly contradicts ideology. In my country ortodox christians ask woman to have wrap aroung their head and wear long skirts, because they believe that woman tempting man sexually and it's woman's fault. Any progressive left organization shoud ask their followers who has a faith in some non-material stuff to at least reform their views, because we don't need people like that in a movement.
@TheThiccestChungus

@@TheSpellShell I think in your case it is more a case of being careful with extremism rather than religion, the way you phrased your comment makes me think you believe that most religions inherently are right, but taking for example the way the Catholic Church has become more moderate and left in the past century, I think it is more so the conservatism religion has historically been affiliated with rather than the assumption that religion is by its nature conservative and even more so the assumption that all or most religious people are conservative due to their religion.

+ Fen Y Where are all these strawman conservatives who sympathise with incels that kill women? I'd say we are less apologetic of them as we aren't as inclined to blame their actions on their environment etc. Incels should hurt themselves instead of women. Let's say we have 20 people, 10 men and 10 women. The 5 most desirable men can alone satisfy all 10 of the women and potentially impregnate all of them. The bottom 5 men are completely unnecessary in regards to producing a new generation of people. These are the incels, they are biological endpoints. There is nothing dysfunctional about this, this is how a society that encourages open and fluid relationships is supposed to function. I personally don't really care about those 5 men who might as well not exist. The only significant problem I see is that these societies are quickly going to cause incest since 50% of the men produce 100% of the children.

I also hate the negative stigma against divorce, as if it's a morally repulsive thing to do. I dont see how being forced to stay in an abusive, miserable, or just non compatible relationship is more ethical than taking legal and reasonable steps to take care of yourself. I think access to divorce should be celebrated honestly, as it is liberating to men and women. Or just dont out so much pressure on people getting married in the first place, or idunno. Both.

@BigmanDogs

The problem is that people marry those whom they can't stay together with for the rest of their life. Cultures, where the parents have a bigger say in regards to who their child can and can't marry have significantly lower divorce rates without affecting happiness. Parents in cultures like these also help their child find a partner, instead of having them try to find one on their own. The solution to high divorce rates isn't to force people to stay in bad marriages. It's to make more marriages be good.

People are not saying it's morally repulsive, it's moreso that marriage is shown to be a good indicator of health and income; and that the decline in married households is a indicator of the decline of our nation. Married households have higher incomes then those who aren't, men and women who are married have higher incomes then those who aren't. There are multiple benefits to marriage, and the decline of it as an instutition is a sign of our decay.

I was taken advantage of as a child by a family member, then was assaulted three times as a teenager, by a family friend, my first boyfriend, then by a friend from my parent's church. I gave up seeking help from my parents because I was told I must have seduced my rapist (AS A CHILD) and was obviously asking for it. Now I’m 40 and she’s 48. Still going strong. Not that I don’t want to kill her every time she asks me to empty the dishwasher and then decides to work on some other cleaning project right in the corner that I need to work in because all of our plates, bowls, glasses, and silverware are stored in the cabinets in that exact corner. And sure, she wants to kill me every time I open the fridge and immediately ask her where something is. But that’s what marriage is: sometimes you want to kill each other, but you don’t because you would miss each other if you did; sometimes you enjoy each other’s company; sometimes you embrace each other passionately; and sometimes you’re mildly annoyed, but tolerant, of each other. David Clingling, you are either a deluded Lauren Southern sycophant, or an inexperienced welp, if you think your dismissive comment is worth a damned thing here. Have a few relationships that cause you to learn about yourself and grow into a better person before waste any brain power typing words that you do not understand about a situation that you do not understand. And for anybody else who’s never been married: A, you don’t need to get married to live a full life, or have a meaningful relationship; B, questions and comments are welcome as long as the entire point of your comment isn’t to be a dismissive ass-douche in a pathetic attempt to look cool.

Women are expected to have no sexual experience before marriage. But men are expected to have had a lot of "fun" with multiple partners in order to be desirable. The dissonance is ... What's worse? Having sex with someone you aren't married to, or marrying someone at age 18 who you've only known for a year just so you can have sex in a way deemed appropriate by your religion? I know a lot of religious people marry young and hastily because they are horny. After a year of sex in their hasty marriage the honeymoon wears off and they realize "hey, I don't actually like my partner very much" and all the sex and intimacy dies off leaving a cold dead husk of a relationship. Then the pressure is to stay married so they end up in unfulfilling sometimes abusive relationships with someone they ultimately aren't compatible with. That's where all the boomer "I hate my wife, she nags me and wont have sex with me" and "my husband is always looking at other women and he treats me like garbage" jokes come from.

Yeah, ironically waiting to have sex until marriage is not actually good for marriage, it's not respectful nor better...it's only "pro-marriage" in quantity, because people are desperately getting married just so they can have sex. Anyone who cares about "marriage," should recognize that tying marriage to sex devalues marriage. People should get married for reasons besides being horny...obviously. It's so silly how people reference this rule as if it's a virtue to not have sex with your partner until marriage. Lol, sorry, but if my partner proposes marriage and asks to marry me...I want to know that it's NOT just because they're horny and want to have sex. That should not be the reason. Unfortunately, the only way to make sure it's not a reason, is if you can have sex before marriage. No sex before marriage devalues any proposal, any marriage. I wouldn't be able to take any of it seriously.

Also the fact that this entirely removes any chance of you knowing what you’re sexually interested in going into the marriage. Not everyone is interested in doing the same types of sexual activities and if you wont be engaging in those activities until after your married…too late? Like what if you’ve got a huge foot fetish but are disgusted by anal, and your partner is really into anal but finds feet gross? It’d be nice to know that before you get married….

I've never understood the argument that it's acceptable for a man to have many sexual partners, but women should remain monogamous- such as Lauren's 19 partners for men and 1 partner for women- who the hell are the other 18 women men are supposed to be sleeping with? Is this some creepy Handmaid's Tale thing, where a bunch of women are just traded as sexual objects among a handful of men that they have in addition to their wives, and the vast majority of men are meant to stay celibate? Is that what the right is now arguing in favor of, because there's no other mathematical process by which their prescription works.

A few months ago I lost my virginity to my first boyfriend, who had been with me at that point for around 8 months (without any sexual contact) already. My parents found out. What happened? I was insulted by my father as a lazy whore, he threatened to kill my boyfriend and grabbed my throat. My mother yelled at me for having lost my "everything", my entire worth as a female. And then I was thrown out to be homeless, despite still being a student, with no authorities to help me *not* sleep on the streets in Winter. And oddly enough, the police refused to tell us where the next homeless shelter is, they were either leaving us standing in the snow at night (my knees were bleeding too), didn't show up at all when concerned people called them, or gave us rude attitude and snarky remarks, only to shut the blinds on us and refuse to talk. In my city there are plenty of women in their 20s who have lived a rough life, done meth, drink, smoke etc and they look ancient with zero sex appeal. None. Not physically, emotionally, intellectually, etc. There are plenty of young women who are absolutely repulsive IMO. I’m in my 40s and regularly get mistaken for 28-32 and so do plenty of other women. If a woman takes care of her body & mind, age isn’t shit really. Let’s just call it what it is. It’s breeder status. It strikes me as pretty hypocritical how many conservative women advise others to 'marry early and have loads of kids' when they themselves won't do this because they're pursuing their career. The only reason they can pursue the careers they choose is because of feminists campaigning throughout the twentieth century for middle-class women to be able to work (working-class women have always worked, and this is always conveniently forgotten by people on the left and right)

Isn't it funny that when people make broad sweeping statements about how people are, they often don't include themselves? Isn't it funny when someone says men unquestionably value youth and fertility, men go 'hmm yeah that must be true, men do value that'. Now have a look at yourself as a man, do you value youth and fertility over anything else? I am a man, and I can say that I don't care if a woman can have children or not, and I also don't care if she's older than me. At least within a 'normal' range of course. I don't want to date a grandma. But I think I can safely say I don't value youth and fertility over almost everything else. And I think I can safely say most men actually don't. Then why do men still listen to her and say: yeah I guess she's right. Men do value that! Without looking at their own situations at all. Same goes for women who follow her. Ask yourself, do you really value strength and resources over almost all other things? If not, why do you assume other women do?

I would say that it varies, as most other things. I have never been much for what is considered "normal" beauty standards (the cardassian types), and I have for as long as I can remember been mostly drawn to slightly older women; not saying that I have dissed younger ones, but I do prefer maturity and a relaxed view on things than the hyped personalities that many younger women have. But I know that some men, many men, do look for youth and surface beauty. Perhaps because they think that entails status and respect from their peers, or because they genuinly like that. To each his or her own, I guess. But to claim that the majority likes/strives after/are attracted to young and fertile women..? Humbug. Just as bynote... how the heck do you know if a woman is fertile, unless she has had previous partners and, you know, procreated? :-P

By then both my mom and dad had solid job as engineers, they had their own house with paid off mortgage, and where able to provide me and my sister with the best education. We never lacked anything. Both my parents are very loving towards each other, and we always had a very good example as loving spouses and parents By contrast. My grandma a strict Catholic, had my mom when she was 19, and she had no education and was stuck in an unhappy marriage for the rest of her life, she never divorced because if her religion... My grandma has literally told me "I hope I die soon so I don't have to see your grandfather ever again" ....my grandpa has always been nice to us, but apparently treated my grandma like shit, cheated on her with 15 women and gave her an STD that made her had to get a hysterectomy, and beaten her the odd time. One of my aunt's was very resentful of him (they have made peace since then) don't think my grandma is very happy despite of pretty much doing everything that southern points out. But yeah, this is probably the contrats between an educated woman who waited to settle down, and an uneducated woman who was raised to be nothing but an unconditional wife from a young age... An extremely religious one for that matter. My mom is by all means a career woman, but I think deep down southern knows that being living for other people makes you very vulnerable, this is why Lauren doesn't practice what she preaches, she's in her prime reproductive years and not even a man on sight, but you see a pretty prolific career as a reporter.

i can relate to this with my parents as well. She broke up with him after 13 years and decided she wanted to live for herself and be single for a while. She met my dad in her late thirties and they married after only a few years of dating and then had me right after they got married. My parents are still happily together. I also have a friend who's parents have three kids, two cats and have bought a house who aren't married, despite having been together since their early twenties. Marriage isn't for everyone and if you do get married, it's better to do it out of love rather than because you think that this person will provide for you.

Your problem is the fact that the average age of the country keeps going up dramatically. You may want someone in their 30s and that might be barely feasible for now, but Gen alpha will have to set a limit for partners in their 20s when the average age is 60(millennials at that point btw)because there won’t be any kids in any relationships if a limit isn’t established. Women in their 30s are much less likely to want kids and even if they have kids they have a lot less than men typically want. Right now you are having some success in dating because men think having children is negotiable in some way, but 30 years from now it won’t be. Shaun’s video will age very very badly in the future.

@@al.the. I'm not implying women don't know what they are talking about, I'm implying feminists are psychobabblers, both male and female ones. You don't even know your own origin story, that is in the beginning the suffragettes that started it all already had the right to vote. Based on the laws of the time, high class, the educated and people that served in the military had the right to vote. The various governments of the time had decided that because black men had served in the military they ought to have the same right to vote as other men that served in the military. The matriarchy then decided, oh hell no, no way they would allow black men to get the right to vote before white women did. In other words, the pursuit of alleged resolution of injustice was based on racism and power, not equality. So now feminists equate themselves to the injustices of black Americans as if somehow your suffering was any where close to theirs, in which I call bullshit. The only difference between the male plantation owner and the female plantation owner was that men whipped their slaves with their own hands, so the blood of the blacks is on their hands. While female masters used their white workers to do the whipping for them, so the blood of blacks was at their feet. By the way, thank you for making my argument for me by attacking my character in almost the same breath as denying a lack of character is a thing. I know that I likely won't convert you, but this argument isn't about me or you, and it's result is more for the benefit of witnesses of the debate as opposed for either you or I. I would submit, that anyone that attacks the person in a debate before they address the premise of the debate hasn't got an intellectual leg to stand on. So you prove my point for me, showing that feminism isn't about equality as much as it's about power, a power that is obtained through intellectual dishonesty, social intimidation and political leverage. Welcome to the wonderful world of feminism 3.0. Hitler would be so proud...

i remember watching that video when i was 12. it was recommended to me and i watched it because i was questioning my worth as a woman. i was very insecure at the time because i felt i didn’t fit into the societal standard of a woman; i didn’t have many other straight female friends (mainly sapphics & dudes) and didn’t gravitate towards typically _feminine_ goals like getting a boyfriend or looking pretty. i know that sounds silly, but it was my genuine feelings at the time lauren’s video absolutely crushed me, i lamented about how i’d never be happy in life and no one would like me and i’d become obsolete once i hit 30. that my worth was merely to attract men and push out babies, and i would never amount to anything more. i mean, her claims were supposedly based on _facts_ right? but when i questioned where queer people fit into her supposedly water-tight worldview, i quickly pieced together how dumb her statements were. thank you shaun, for making this debunking video. i hope when other young girls find videos like southern’s, there’ll be people like you to call out this completely bullshit misogynistic rhetoric ♡♡♡

The concept that is Capitalism is entirely differently from how it is used, like there are corrupt companies and monopilies and It maybe the reason of competition or just being motivated by profit that companies use underhanded tactics like paying experts to promote their products but the fault isn't the concept itself but the individuals who do that, you can be motivated by profit while being ethical it's not impossible. Socialism doesn't say your state has to ruled by an Authoratarian and Totalatarian ruler, just because most have done so doesn't mean Socialism has to do that as it is nowhere in the concept that makes it a requirement to do so as many right-wingers falsely proclaim it does. "Women love strength and resources, men value youth and fertility." You know, it's interesting how it's antifeminists who seem to be saying "men are shallow and stupid, it's just their nature." Like, there's probably a few feminists who say that too, but most feminists I know are more of the "men are taught they must be shallow, and we should give men space to express their feelings in a healthy way", whereas the antis, supposedly sticking up for men, say "Nah, they're just naturally awful, we should let them continue to run things." Also, all this seems to be reliant on the idea that divorce is bad, and I have to ask...is it? I may be biased, since the reason I exist is because my mom divorced her first husband and remarried my father, and further, I am an Episcopalian, which is derived from Anglicanism; my denomination only exists because of divorce. But not only is divorce essential for people in abusive relationships, but sometimes, people grow apart. If you married someone, and after ten years, maybe twenty, you find that you both have become different people than when you had married each other, and you may not hate each other, but you just can't keep making the marriage work, maybe you should get a divorce? 29:00 As soon as you said "The Heritage Foundation" I vomited. These fuckers...aren't they the ones that said we should limit immigration because nonwhite migrants "naturally" have lower IQs, and used the doctor's thesis of a white supremacist to back their argument up?
@stewieismyhomeboy
@stewieismyhomeboy 6 жыл бұрын
Rava stuff...okay then, gonna link all that up with some studies? Or are you just applying your own experience as a guideline? Most typically, custody arrangements are decided between the couple themselves, meaning the father agrees to it. And most typically seek shared custody in some kind of form. Whether it's weekends, or summers, divorcing parents typically find ways for both parents to take part in their child(ren)'s life. Most typically, cases in which the father does not ever get to see his children again (at least until they are 18) are ones where the father has proven himself to be abusive, or an otherwise unfit parent. Further, to say all or most children of divorce never go without another father figure in their life is ridiculous. Divorced mothers often remarry, giving their child a stepfather to help fill in the role. And even if they don't remarry, they still may have grandfathers or uncles, or other males in their lives that can provide guidance and support. Do children of divorce have a hard time? Of course. This page from a child psychiatry website details some signs that children aren't taking a divorce well: divorce.lovetoknow.com/How_Are_Children_Affected_by_Divorce But for some reason, it says very little about joining gangs, or prostitution. Maybe because that is a rare worst case scenario often brought on by factors other than parents divorcing, such as living in poverty, having a neglectful parentor having been abandoned by a parent, and being a victim of sexual abuse?

The general consensus among conservatives is that hookup culture is to blame for bad relationships. Getting drunk and having fun with somebody often leads to the bad relationship you mention, resulting in divorce. People don't actually know if they're compatible while they're both drunk.... There's nothing wrong with advocating against such societal norms. In fact, one could call that progressive. There's also an argument to be made against devaluing marriage. If people place no value on it at all, then they might consider getting divorced even after the slightest, and most trivial of problems instead of learning to compromise and not be outraged about the toilet seat or tooth paste lid.
