I appreciate the direction of the topic but was hoping to get more information. Just saying they changed the last is a bit unspecific. I would like to see an overview on how different brands define LV. E.g. Scarpa women's shoes only have a lower volume in the heel, Mad Rock are narrower altogether, others might have flatter shoes, La Sportiva do not change the last and just tweak the softness/stiffness. There is quite a lot of variation between different brands.

As a man who exclusively wears LV shoes, and most of the men I climb with do also, I was often confused by the "womens" labelling on the shoes. Seems it's just marketing. This video really helped clear up many of my questions!

Sadly, most brands don't make LV shoes in big sizes. I personally have big feet which are narrow and its a struggle to find a good fit.

How Would you size these for a performance fit? I wear uk9 street shoes.

Just a slight correction in the history. You said the EB was the early climbing shoe.BUT that same shoe made by Galibier was first produced as the PA. Named for Pierre Allain and used especially for Fontenbleu. Ellis Brigham (first shop in Manchester) had them made for him as EB's. Same shoe different name. In the mid 60's in the UK this was by far the best shoe, especially when it had been well broken in. Many of us sewed on extra canvas on the high top as the tops often wore out before the shoe rubber. Definitely not a LV shoe. Thanks.

idk, I (male) used to be 175 lbs and loves my lasportiva solution women's shoes . my size is exactly the cutoff for women's shoes

As someone with LV feet, I feel like LV or womens wording works because some brand ( eg lasportiva) only make LV shoes in sizes that are more common for women, I wear a 44 in Lasportiva shoes and thus cannot get the LV models

Not sure if I am getting out of touch or what is going on here but anyways. Lets get that youtube algorithm going... First of all. Would have like to see this video years ago and not as a sponsorship. People with knowledge of these things should try to answer questions regardless if theres money in it or not. I know Matt might disagree but hey, you have a shop and an international brand so you know. spare some coins for us, the plebs... Second of all. More info, more specs, more metrics. What are "improvements", what are the "types of feet". How much smaller is the heel in relation to the toe box. Thirdly, and not that you care Matt, but after many years of climbing, I finally bought Scarpa Drago Lv and the reason it took so long is that no shop had them on hand and nobody could have told me how big/small the heel is or what the differences between shoes is. That brings me to the last point. I get it, sponsored content, money good, whatever but like... talk more about differences between shoes. and not in the "this is improved" or whatever, but like actual inside metric. 5 cm toebox, angle of incline 15 degrees, the rubber has this much hard or soft and will start giving at continuous pressure of 150 kn. I want data, MATT. I want to know how heavy is the "average female climber". Last last point. A shoe, for many people, is an investment. Your average climber. AVERAGE. Doesn't go over a v5 climb, doesn't care who makes the shoes. Doesn't care if climbing videos are gated because they don't watch any of this shit. And imho, we should care about them, and they should have access to knowledge and the ability to improve on their own. And not just "buy my app to get stronger or get these sponsored shoes that are way too advanced for you and at the same time don't fit".
