We're going in the house! We haven't shown much inside our house recently which Brook explains about as he starts a new project which could be the start of a very big transformation.

Welcome to Living in the Loire, we are a family in rural France, renovating previously poorly converted barns.
We aim to do most of the work ourselves, being as frugal and as eco as possible. We are learning on the job and we hope to share the skills we pick up along the way.
When possible we will take you on a tour of the region (the garden of France) sharing with you the numerous chateaux, towns and markets.
As well as the house we will be transforming the garden, bringing part of it back to its previous use as a potager. This is our dream and one of the main reasons of leaving the city to move to the countryside in France.

I remember when my children were young and we had to wait to do renovations in house. Once they were in school full time, that was when we started. They are both in their 40's now and have their own homes....lol!! Thank you for sharing and enjoy every moment when the children are young....special times for sure.

Listen, I'm not sure it's a compliment when a company gives you a hoover to test out. It's basically saying, your house is a mess. Here's a robot to sort it out.

When I had my two young boys of 8 moths and 2 1/2 year old, I had to work at night to pay my bills. During day I take care of my kids. My husband had a job with full continue. We where victims of te 1980th crisis and lost our home. We had a uge debt! Don't ask what job I had, It damaged me for the rest of our lives! Still. I've got 2 men with great lives, grandchildren who are a joy. So. I found the balance. Most important!

Brook, look at this “episode” in your lives as just another adventure. You know it’ll be great when it’s done. Bathrooms are really important! Never more so than in the 21st century. I know that with kids a bathtub is probably a necessity, but personally, give me a larger shower area and shower fixture with a personal shower attachment. So handy for cleaning the shower “walls.” You’ll never regret it! And how about family showers?! 😮 😊 you asked a question, didn’t you? I’ll be back in touch when I watch it again. ( gettin' old. Sorry)

I uses to to hover under beds and cots when they were asleep in bed. 😅 i know what u thinking shes crazy, 😂 And we renovated the house including new windows when I had 3 children 5years and under . And yes it was very very hard. Can't wait to see the house the outside is fantastic 😊

Trying to figure out previous renovations can be mind boggling or the very least - what were they thinking!? Living in the moment is another toughie. Have found write ALL the projects down, doesn't matter how far into the future some of the projects. Come back to list in a week, month, whenever and will surprise yourself how many did get completed. Enjoy your vlogs immensely.

I don't think either of us have ever said the word vacuum in our lives. Maybe it's a British thing saying hoover. But yes, other brands are available including Henry the Hoover 😂

You're right obviously. However I have never heard anyone say 'im going to get the vacuum cleaner out'. And I'm from a family that love being pedantic regarding language use. Maybe it's a regional thing.

That’s what my partner, Dave, says! He insists on doing the vacuuming, taking out the trash, doing the dishes and his own laundry. He is also the quickest picker upper, not to mention the best. He says that I do all the cooking and shopping. (big deal!) I’m going on 80!
