Think of all the civilized ways he could explain himself. He could just start out by saying he knows what you want but he can't give it to you, in a way that signals he's receptive to your question, which should be: Why not? Are you seeing someone else? Should I be worried? He should then give you an honest answer, not a half-answer, a shrug or roll his eyes. But a lot of men come undone when the woman starts to cry and so they avoid the whole thing. Ooops! Did I use the term "men" here?

Texting is a man-child's playground. I replied "who is this" to a grown boy I thankfully wasn't really attracted to. He thought he could dissapear and pop up a few weeks later with an after 8pm text. He told me who he was and I never replied. I use to think it was rude to not respond and was surprised at how good it felt to not respond. Brought a whole new meaning to the term self-respect for me. There's always the "test" you see how poorly they can treat you and the go-to method is ghosting and reapearing at some point down the road and it's ALWAYS via text. Never ever reply to a text from a ghost.

Isn't there something wrong with modern day dating if women are being taught to have to "learn" what to do when a man ignores them? Why is there no video out there teaching men to have more open and honest conversations rather than ghosting the women they are dating? I mean I can do everything to forget about the guy that ignored me and move on, but I think there are more fundamental problems with society today if we are being mentally prepared for the person we are seeing to just vanish one day.

@@Mike-li2wr I do agree that people need to listen better (both men and women). I usually delete his number out of my phone. Out of sight, out of mind. That helps me not have the urge to text him or have a way of contacting him and if his numbers pop up then I will choose whether I want to respond or ignore it. It depends on how far away I am from the feelings I was developing for him. One time, I did this and 6 mos later he came back and called me and I didn't even know who it was. The number was foreign to me because I didn't have his number memorized, just his name that I inserted into my contacts, so when he called I was like, who is this? Haha! That was hysterical. That was also very genuine because I truly had put him out of my mind.

I have a guy I'm struggling with, too. So I just did it again. I tuck the number away in a drawer just in case, but I don't keep it on my phone. This cuts down on those sudden impulsive feelings to shoot out a text that probably won't be beneficial to me. It helps me maintain my integrity, too, plus it makes them wonder. I also unfriended him off of Facebook so he couldn't see what I'm doing in my life or you could just restrict him on some posts by making him an acquaintance and only posting friends except acquaintances if you really don't want to unfriend him, but just limit what he sees.

I do exactly the same. When they ghost, I delete everything but I never block them. Not on social media, not in my phone since this looks weak and as if you care. I just actively "forget" them. Sometimes they reappear as all demons do. I then text back, completely neutral and uninterested (as tho they are a random guy I know from work or whatever) and never ask questions. That's it basically. Example: the reappearing demon: hey sweetie, what are u up to? thought of you! me: oh that's nice, thank you! > that's it. no question, no further interest, nothing. Sometimes I ignore them and don't text back but this is childish. It is much better to answer days later completely uninterested and neutral. :-)

The reason people get obsessive when they aren't receiving attention from their partner is because they have made their partner the source of their love and happiness. The source of love and happiness is never found in others. It's found within. When people practice on being happy with themselves and alone, they are not dependent on the actions of others for their happiness. So if a partner does something that may appear like they don't love you, it's easier to judge whether to be with them or not because your reasoning won't be coming from a place of fear. Your mind won't be clouded by the fear of being alone. So you'll be better able to judge if this person is someone that you should retain or let go of.

Different times will come when a guy, or anyone or anything, ignores you or makes you feel bad. Understand now that your brain will get hooked on whatever brought relief so it is important to pick the right thing/action. In this case, do something empowering. LOVE YOURSELF THE WAY YOU DESERVE TO BE LOVED. GIVE YOURSELF the happiness YOU deserve & choose. Those actions will become what your brain will automatically want to do whenever you feel bad. So don't sit around waiting for his reply to give you relief, or even wait staring at his picture. In life in general, don't binge on series or junk food, alcohol, joints, smoke, or anything you know is not in YOUR best interest so that your brain doesn't end up marking it as something good/relieving in bad situations you can't control....which life is full of.

This is absolute GOLD! I figured out this “anxiety” after I realised that the small amount of time I had known someone didn’t correlate with how much I thought I liked them. This is precisely what you describe. It’s a type of irrational fear that you are desperate to get rid of and will easily take the “antidote” of hearing from them or contacting them yourself. This knowledge of the pattern is absolutely brilliant and once you know it you can overcome it.

Apparently, most relationships fall apart so easily when love and time don't go in sync. Love speaks of time, and how we spend it makes the difference. How hard is taking a minute of your time to make one feel seen, heard, and valued? I guess everybody is dying to look for someone who can invest time for them more than anything. The truth is, love makes ways not excuses, for no one is too busy if they think you are worth it.

I'm still working on not caring but I still can't help but feel so sick and tired of being ignored by someone I care about. The first guy, I was with him for two years we were starting to plan our future together we both showed we were happy together and then he suddenly ignored me through social media, messaging, work, and at school. I was devastated, confused, and alone. The second guy, I was with him for a few months, he treated me like we were in a relationship, and then out of nowhere he ignored me. I was instantly triggered and felt so devastated and confused all over again like the first time. I still stayed with the second guy and let him do it all over again, on and off for almost two years. and each time I'd let the uncertainty of being ignored take control of me. Watching this video makes a lot of sense, it really is like a pattern. Luckily I'm in a better place now, it did take these repetitive experiencs to help me realize how important it is to value myself. Either way I'm really afraid of this happening again. I'm just going to assume most guys will do this and just stay away from them.

THANK YOU Brian Nox. This is so incredibly true. I only recently found that getting lost in a hobby actually helped me reduce my anxiety and feel calmer about what you described. I was wondering why on Earth am I feeling so bad when this happens, and you explained it so well. I also think I associated being ignored with being punished, being wrong, or "too much". But none of that is true. Sometimes certain men cannot handle their own emotions and the really weak ones either have no emotional maturity to handle it well or downright use it to emotionally abuse or punish someone. Either way, I plan to distance myself and keep doing what actually feels good. I'd give a 1,000 likes to this video if I could!

Brian's right, ladies. It's hard to be ignored when he was initially very responsive, but if you obsess over it, you're more likely to act unnatural and create a vibe if he does come back. Most men usually navigate relationships in a different light and definitely communicate differently than women. If you're patient enough and he seems like a genuine guy, forget that he stopped texting/calling you if you've just started dating him (I consider this timeframe within the first 6 months). Sometimes they're busy or don't like being on the phone (clarify this). He will make effort when he wants to (or has time to) and you forcing him will only push him away and make you even more miserable. Stop falling back into self-fulfilling prophecies. Live your life with or without a man!

My favorite advice from you so far. Finally not someone saying what I should text him - the idiot who ignored me - but how to deal in a healthy way with that crap that seems to be a norm these days. Creating a healthy habit can only be beneficial. Not trying to control or change a situation that obviously should be left behind. Might be good to leave a thought here; ladies going on a shopping spree with the thought you are treating and focusing on yourself is not the best route. It will not fulfill you truly and will leave you in debt and the void will still be there after the adrenaline rush passes. Focus on things that add to your personal and/or professional growth; now that's more power to you!!!

Shopping-especially if you are hurt, stressed, or angry-is usually ineffective. If you buy expensive stuff, don’t use/wear it immediately. Put it in your closet, keep all receipts and look at it a week later. If you still like it and can afford it AND have use for it, keep it. If no, return it. Instead of buying stuff, consider treating yourself to a pleasant experience you can afford. A trip to the salon (hair, nails, facial, massage). Treat yourself to a favorite meal and entertainment (movie, concert, theater). If budget permits maybe a nice day trip. Or even a vacation.

Thank you, Brain! I was a bit nervous to watch a dating advice video from a man because I have a hard time trusting men, but you seem like a wonderful example of a guy who is in touch with his emotions and mature. I like how your advice isnt about playing games

You’re so on point ! It’s like going down a rabbit hole ... it’s better to trust that when you move on from the wrong, you will walk right into the Right !

Thanks Brian. I keep on reminiscing about the time spent with my ex of 7 years. Still can't believe we've broken up. The reason why I ended our seven year relationship is because he did not propose to me. I loved and respected him dearly and remained loyal to him. Six and a half years into our relationship, I fell in love with a co-worker. After I shared a first kiss. I swear it was just a kiss. I broke it of with the boyfriend of seven years. Needless to say. My relationship with this new guy did not work out as he displayed narcissistic characteristics/behavior. I miss my boyfriend. He is dating someone else. I pray and wish him only the best with his new relationship. I am very scared about the unknown future. I find myself being very sad and heartbroken at times.

@Janine Plaatjies When there is a fire, yes you are going to get burnt but it doesn't mean you are going to die, even tho it feels this way. This pain is so severe,it feels like your arm is cut off, missing a limb. But honey, you're just in time! Every 7 years your life changes, maybe your not aware of it. But let me tell you, you have learned from this and you are very brave. Time will heal and i know that is not helping right now, but trust me it will, 5 broken hearts further. One day you will open your eyes and feel it, it is gone and you can go further with your life. There is a man already waiting there for you, only you have to do is, watch carefully that what he said, HE WILL DO!! And chose the good guy. I feel you, but i know you are strong and can do this sis! All the love from Holland x

I’m sorry none of the relationships worked out. But don’t look at it as a failure. Each connection/relationship teaches us something about ourselves. Do some inner healing work. Men’s your broken heart and don’t try to date just to fill the void. Keep your life rich with activities you like- cooking, yoga, reading, working out. When you’re upbeat and in high vibration you will naturally attract a man. Go out on dates with everyone- use the men you don’t like to practice being in your feminine receptive energy. You don’t know what the future holds- he may break up and come back to you. But don’t ever wait around for a man.

Thank you thank you thank you Brian! Although I "know" this stuff, and I tell myself this stuff each time I feel ignored, taken for granted or even abandoned by the man I love, your choice of words and light and breezy manner hit home and is truly calming, reassuring and motivating.
