Unless you want to brag about how your mind and body can handle that freight, i.e. if you get around really well in life as opposed to other fat people who struggle. However, I can brag about the military definition of fat. I may not be physically fat, but I can't pass a PT test right now. I certainly enjoy being "fat" that way! It feels good not being forced to take a physical fitness assessment regularly. Those were the last days I bothered with going to the gym as well.

In some cases it is not gluttony, it is a complex disease formed by stomach hormones and environmental factors. "Took me a long time to realize hunger is okay" Girl, that is not hunger that's greed. When you constantly over eat you just make it easier to over eat more. I’ve heard of studies that show PCOS can only really account for, at the most, 20-30 lbs of excess weight for someone with a normal diet and activity regimen. This self-defeating myth of inevitable obesity for sufferers of PCOS has really ruined the lives of a lot of women who could otherwise have led a life more like yours. Keep up the good fight, sister. Bro, as a 15 year old, you don't need to apologise for adults who haven't grown up. It sounds like you're taking more ownership of issues than people much older than you are, and as such, don't include yourself so readily - tho I appreciate your recognition of the issue. But at the end of the day, you can't fix something if you don't own it - which is where you have the advantage over said 'brain-dead idiots'. Gl.

I lost 120lbs through WLS 8 years ago. I can speak from experience, these women HATE being fat. There’s no way that anyone likes being fat. It hurts you physically and hurts you even worse mentally. I wish that the media would stop this Body Positivity bullshit and that young people would stop falling for it. These young people are gorging themselves purposely and they will regret it so deeply when they’re older and it’s harder to take the weight off. Sad

The way she rolled her eyes when she ate the salad, that look of pleasure, that's exactly it. No one looks like that when they eat dinner, maybe once in a hundret years when they eat something really really special tasty, but I have noticed that with a lot of these "im fat watch me eat" videos, mukbangers etc. It's shows perfectly how it's not eating for them, it's an addiction and they're getting their fix, on camera. An addiction that slowly kills them and is currently glorified, saying that as someone who's Dad recently died at 52 from a heart attack and untreated diabetes due to being obese.
@TheSamjane4
@TheSamjane4 4 ай бұрын
You don’t realise how young 52 is till you get there yourself… some at that age still have teenage kids at home. It is not an ideal time to die when you could have so many more years of family and see your grandchildren one day. My ex is obese…he used all these excuses…I’m so healthy …my heart is perfect. Had a heart attack when he was 52…our kids are not even adults yet…youngest was 13 at the time. It’s very very selfish to not think of your kids or spouse who has to raise them alone because you are delusional.

I rarely comment on things anymore but I want to weigh in (no pun intended) on my experience when it comes to the fat acceptance movement. I was 15/16 and was becoming more responsible for what food I put in my body, I had little to no self control and as a result, I became overweight. This led to all the typical mental side effects of being overweight that you typically hear from other people with the added arse ache of existing with teenage hormones. My father stepped in after a while and took me aside and said to me, "You are fat and it's in your best interest to sort it out" Amongst a lengthy conversation on why we were having that chat. It hurt, but most importantly it was tough for my Dad to do as it took courage, love and my best interest to be honest and help me. Shortly after that I joined a gym and watched what I ate. Fast forward 13 years, I still go to the gym, I still watch what I eat and I'm arguably in the best shape of my life. Moral of this story, I love my Dad and I thank my lucky fucking stars I had someone I trust implicitly who could give me the reality check I needed. If you're one of those people supporting an unhealthy lifestyle and hiding behind buzzwords like Fat Phobic or Fat Acceptance, YOU are part of the problem, YOU need to grow up and start telling the goddamn truth and then YOU could be the person that helps someone else through a shitty period of their lives. Hope this helps someone out there.

This is kind of off-topic and may seem strange, but as a fat guy who's been working hard to lose weight for the past two years, what you said about how it was your dream in life to eat whatever the fuck you want but don't because of discipline was actually inspirational and comforting to me. I never stopped to think about how much you guys actively restrict yourselves in order to reach and maintain your fitness levels. I guess that's because I've had thin friends that seemingly don't do shit and still stay thin, lol. But in truth, they just don't have the same hang ups with food as some of us fats do. In other words, you in-shape guys make it look so easy but in reality, you're just more disciplined and you put in the work. Being reminded of that has helped me more than you know! I'm about 220 lbs right now (down from 305) and have about 50 or so more to go (I'm 5'7). I'm going to get there!

It's honestly really sad watching people talk about all the "discipline" and mental/emotional effort it takes to be a healthy weight. If you ate what your body actually wants you to eat, it would effortlessly regulate itself. Unless some terrible trauma happened to you (which, my condolences if this is true), you probably don't have the emotional dysregulation around food that you THINK you do; you're just more sensitive than other people to the negative effects a poor diet has on appetite regulation. It's not YOU. It's the FOOD. I also thought I had emotional hangups around food and that I would always struggle with binging. Less than a week on keto, and the urge to binge was gone completely. Go low-carb if you haven't already, and see what happens. Better, go carnivore.
@MoonsideResident
@MoonsideResident Жыл бұрын
@@bluesonicstreak7317 For me, it's not about an urge to eat or even necessarily feeling hungry. When I (and I imagine many others) say I have hang-ups with food, I mean that it's practically an addiction. It's a vice that I often rely on when I'm feeling like shit (which is often). Food is like a drug to me, hence it's difficult to resist the temptation to eat shit that I shouldn't. I deal with depression and a lot of stress due to my situation as a caretaker of two people and I've used food the same way that I use other vices--as an escape/something to take my mind off things. Going low-carb (something I've tried before) wouldn't solve the problem for me because it's almost exclusively mental. I still need more help in that area.

Funny that I've been outside for weeks delivering packages for seasonal hire and there's people who go to the gym. Not a criticism against you, but I've seen people go out on walks and jogs and I could just scratch my head: they wouldn't *apply* that to make a buck. Want to bench out 300 lbs? YEAH! Want to squat for 450 lbs? YEAH! Want to sometimes carry 25-50 lbs repeatedly in a 6-10 hour day? Naaaaah. Real talk: I've been hired on to work up to 2 routes in an area of some 12k people. We don't have ONE PERSON on the team who would do seasonal package delivery from said area. I get it that manual labor is passé but it was good enough for the West in times when there weren't so many gyms. Because we all thought everything was done, or will be done, by computers/robots/automation. Because the gym doesn't pay you to go, but I get paid $21/hr plus $0.625/mile to go be on my feet and lift some stuff. But since that doesn't improve weird abstractions like "sexual market value" and doesn't actually make you physically look better, it doesn't rate and it must be beneath us. But I'm the loser who could be gone out of the house for 12 hours a day when it could be easily half that time if a few more people bothered.

It creeps up on you and in 5 years you go from a six-pack to having a bit of a gut. For my 30th birthday, I got gifted 10 lessons with a personal trainer. He said something that made a lot of sense to me. He said: "Your weight gain accumulated over the years is the equivalent of you overeating 100 calories/day. That's it. If you instead undereat 100 calories/day and add exercise a couple of times/week, you're done and the weight will come off fairly quickly". 100 calories is basically a tablespoon of oil.

@@bambi3163 Oh no, don't feel like that. I think it's the opposite. I take it more like how little you have to do each day to see results in the long run. Losing 2-3 kg per year is enough for me.

@@bambi3163 I understand! But truly it's best to keep snacks out of the house, keeping busy all day, and eating veggies first (should take half your plate).

@@bambi3163 Listen to yourself and your body, not what you want but what you need. Talk to a nutritionist, work out how many calories you need daily, whether you like big meals or if you like to eat smaller meals spread out throughout the day, make sure if you're planning to eat over your daily intake, to burn those calories off, and the most important part, find an exercise YOU LOVE. Don't do exercises you hate doing or that make you feel like shit afterwards, just to obtain an ideal goal. Focus on keeping yourself as happy as you can be, think about what activities you enjoy, what fuels you to exercise? Do you enjoy hiking, walking, swimming, boxing, martial arts etc? Even simple things like gardening, getting out of the house can make a huge difference. Take it day by day and I promise you're not going to overeat or under eat. The most vital part is learning to take care of yourself

I am currently working on losing 20kg in the past 4 weeks I went from being 110kg to 100kg this was done by doing a light cardio and abb work out for 20mins a day and cutting out fizzy drink. I was addicted to anything that was a carbonated sugary drink once I cut that out weight started coming off.

Nobody can cut 10kg in 4 weeks let alone 20kg at that weight. And if ya did lose close to that, keep in mind that a BIG sum of it was retention water. Also losing weight that fast is bad and will result in the yoyo effect. Set realistic goals like 0.5kg a week (1-1.5 if you are in the fatty range). That is 500 calories below you daily caloric needs and is easily maintainable. Also track your daily/weekly calorie intake to really know what you are taking in. This will facilitate adjusting your calories easily (lets say + or - 100 after a week based on your weight gain / loss). If at 2500 kcal a day you lose more than 1 kg per week, add 100. If you are then losing 0.5kg a week, you know you need 2600 kcal to lose weight in a healthy way. If you eat 2500 a day and you gained weight after a week, take off 100 and eat 2400. Again after a week you weigh and adjust if needed

@Michaels Carport I eat 5-6 times a day on a cut and I'm rarely hungry man. Thats why you eat whole grain, veggies and lean meats with low cal marinades so you can eat a lot of it

THANK YOU! Over the last 4 years, I have almost doubled my weight. I took longer healing from back surgery than I should have. But I've been becoming more active and watching what I eat. I was upset with myself because while I stopped gaining, I haven't started losing. I didn't understand until you pointed out going even 25 to 50 calories will stop you from going down. Now I know what to do. Thank you!
