In my case, it depends on my anxiety level and my medication. My med is cutting my appetite and my anxiety is mostly cutting my appetite as well. I can skip a meal because I'm too anxious. Anxiety isn't good at all and it can hurt. I don't have an ED officially though. My eating habit often comes in phase of eating a lot or barely eating a thing.

Body positivity is NOT about eating yourself to death. It’s about NOT HATING YOURSELF. But! Self love also includes filling your body with the best fuel to help it operate at peak performance. Self love includes moving your body so that you aren’t in pain from sedentary life. Self love is staying off IG and not comparing yourself to others. Self love is accepting yourself wherever you are, and having enough love of your body to take care of it.

In my opinion, body positivity wasn't supposed to be about promoting an unhealthy lifestyle, it was supposed to be about questioning society's unrealistic (and often damaging) standards of beauty (this includes acne, stretch marks, body hair, and yes, body fat), and most importantly, it was supposed to promote beauty whilst still encouraging plus sized people to starting a healthier lifestyle. What these people are doing is very unhealthy, and they should let go of this version of 'body positivity'.

Also the issue with diets is that you basically starve the body and then afterwards you shovel food down your throat and is back to the usual regimen of eating.... and the kilos return. you need a lifestyle change. you need to STOP the millionaire shortbreads, you have to stop the fastfood, you need to cut down on your mealsizes, etc. Do it incrementally of course so your body and mindset can adjust to change. Perhaps limit fastfood from 4 times a week to only on Fridays, choose the large instead of supersize, avoid soda ever other day, dun drink stupid-coffee drinks and just get some coffee with a little bit of milk and sugar, change your normal bread use to something healthier and with more fibre in it, etc. And then you need to stick to it.

Now Im down about 4kg in 1 month of hardcore exercise and Im feeling better about myself than I have in years. I was able to bench 60kg for 4 reps on the second time doing it and that blew me away because I pushed past my limits and did it anyways. I think everyone can do it and it just takes perceverance and a little bit of determination. Thanks Isaac Love you man

Wondering where these people were when I was eating too much, being sick, suffering with pain & depression. The positivity movement isn’t positive. I used to be obese in high school and every day I was harassed and bullied by my peers and even friends because of how big I was. After I got out of highschool and got a job I realized how detrimental being so overweight was doing to my body. I had less stamina for doing daily activities like just standing around, I was having a harder time breathing and because of how big I was, I was having to be put in 2XL clothing. After moving out of town and rethinking alot of decisions, I decided I wanted to be more healthy and to be able to look in the mirror and not have the first thought be "Look how ugly and fat I am" so I started walking everywhere instead of taking public transportation (except work and sometimes the store if the grocery load was too big) and within a year and a half I had lost 100 pounds and to this day I have kept that weight off and now Im starting new goals with my body. First it was losing the weight, now im working on making my body stronger especially my core.

I’m currently on my weight loss journey. I’ve gone from 180lbs to around 160-158lbs. I’m still working on loosing more weight since my healthy weight is between 120-130lbs. Now yes, it is hard, especially when I step on the scale and gain weight from muscle, however everything is so much easier now. I’m a care worker and obviously my job requires me to be on my feet a lot. I’ve found that I can move around with ease, get my work done much faster because I’m not out of breath or my joints aren’t aching OR my feet don’t hurt. It’s crazy how weight loss can allow me to do so much more. I’ve still got some ways to go but eventually I’ll be able to do push ups and pull ups and run for miles without issue. I’m 5ft by the way. This is just to show that you can indeed do it, even though it’s hard

" When a fat celebrity loses weight fat people lose there representation " Since when was it a celebrity's job to be a role model, there job is to do whatever they do for a living, not to be a role model for you so you can feel better about yourself. There are other things out there that deserve representation, like people who have things about them that cannot be changed. Representation means to allow a group of people that have been oppressed for years to be heard and express there opinions. You cant change that, but you can change being fat.

I completely agree with your points in this video. I, unfortunately am quite a bit overweight. I do not over eat and I try my best to eat healthy as much as I can. I very rarely even eat out. Unfortunately I have degenerative disc disease and next to no cartilage left in my knees which happened prior to my weight gain. I used to go to the gym 5 days a week and I absolutely loved it. Now it's severely painful to stand and clean the dishes and I have to take breaks. Luckily I found a local gym that has a pool so I've started exercising the low impact way recently. Hopefully I can get back to my old self that way! Wish me luck 🙂💜🙂

As a dude who is overweight, I have always found the 'body-positive' movement to be an extremely weird and upsetting concept. I know I'm not as healthy as I could be- I'm not proud of it, and I've been working to fix it. Never in my life have I wanted to be seen as perfect exactly how I am. I want to actually reach other people's standards, or at least my physician's. I am fully aware of the benefits associated with a healthy body, and desire to have them for myself. So for all these weirdos to insist that not only do they represent me and our common cause, but that I as an overweight person need representation in the first place, is laughable. I don't identify myself primarily as 'obese,' to begin with, like its some kind of separate race or people with a shared culture and values. I have absolutely nothing in common with these morons, nor do I want to. The fact that they are so deprived of self-esteem that they demand that the entire world lower its standards to their level and actively pride themselves on being lazy, gluttonous, and generally repulsive, boggles the mind. I mean, can you imagine our grandfathers, fighting and dying in droves in Europe and the Pacific during World War 2 for the promise of a better future, being shown what their sacrifice would amount to? What western civilization would become? Jeez.

@@galgaldr3992 Nah the correct answer is not a strict diet. It's eating less PERIOD. Diets are dumb if you return to your normal phase after you are done. Sure, speed the weight loss up some more, but your diet should be sustainable indefinitely. If you are not super obese, and cannot change your diet the alternative would be to maintain your weight but burn the fat, AKA build muscle. As a man, we literally have the easiest time losing weight. Simply eat how you would have to at your desired weight and speed it up by working out. Literally calculate using a base metabolic rate calculator, the average man burns 2k cals a day, that's enough for breakfast and KFC every day lmao. Put down liquid cals and you can eat whatever junk you want. You can push it up to 4k easily at a healthy body fat % if you build muscle. I say body fat % since there is a point where if you start packing muscle you will be technically overweight, but just lean as fuck. In my opinion, being over-weight is not a physical problem, but a mental one which must be changed by changing your lifestyle as a whole, permanently.

@shinysvensson7302 2 жыл бұрын
@@galgaldr3992 If you are maintaining a calorie deficit the calories will have to come from somewhere however, And generally if you are eating healthy, like tons of protein for your muscles, vitamins and whatnot from veggies and some meat I doubt the calorie restrictions would really allow for enough carbs to cease any form of loss, and if it did you would probably get sick or something from lack of calories being consumed vs what you need. I know keto can result in rapid weight loss, but at the same time if the ideas to just stop after you reach your goal you need to then switch to yet another diet which will be your forever diet, which is literally called counting calories. You don't need to do this consciously, just look at a packet and do head maths, normal people do this all the time without even looking at the label lol. But actual muscle workouts, 100% agree that is what you need. If not to gain muscle mass, to stop your body from losing it. And that's also where the protein comes in. Also in the video, that girl with the jeans, the flabby stomach looks like she lost a lot of weight too fast, could just be shit luck of the draw, but if you lose too much weight that can happen if you drop more then 50kg, which is pretty normal for morbidly obese people which return to overweight or healthy BMI's. @10:52 you can literally see the arm flabs. For someone like nico he will probs need surgery as his flab will cover his dick, if we went back to his optimal body fat %. And that's even if they lose it slowly. Slow loss reduces skin flabbiness but there are limits to the human body and obesity will ruin you.

@@galgaldr3992 keto is a fad, intermittent fasting is for people who can't handle caloric deficits. I wouldn't recommend either to anyone. The body positivity movement sweeps a lot under the rug. Although having mental health struggles is nothing to be ashamed of, a lot of people that eat this way use it as a coping mechanism for past trauma and depression. When the movement screams "be YOU! It doesn't matter what you eat!", it's not encouraging people to address problems they may be having, and that isn't healthy. That isn't positive at all.

I was like the ladies in these tiktoks. Not THAT obese, but too heavy for my age. Earlier this year I HATED my body but I really wanted to do something about it but couldn't because of my household (I'm 17 and living with 3 young, growing brothers). Since November 1st 2023 I've been on a low-carb diet and been going for walks every morning as well as doing some light training at home. I'm proud to say I've already lost 5kg! YOU CAN DO IT, it's just a matter of commitment and dedication.

I deal with a lot of weight issues. There's nothing great, healthy, or beneficial being this size. Also yes it is more likely to end in premature death as my younger brother died of heart disease through obesity. He was 27 when he passed away, you shouldn't put people down for their weight. Encourage them to make positive changes, promote healthier choices, recognize that some will struggle with this harder than others. But staying a huge size like that is bad period, I've spent so much of my life dealing with (and still to this day struggling with) weight issues. I know even when I can finally beat this. That there will be ramifications up the road. Body positivity should be "I want you to live a long and healthy life. I know you have the strength to make a positive change" It shouldn't however be in the form of "Be as big as you want you are healthy at any size"

Spot on brother. This is not about me, but I have to chime in. I'm 55, an atp (airline transport pilot) with over 20,000 flight hours, and was diagnosed with diabetes in 2007. Instead of thinking of myself as a victim, I listened to my physician and did what was needed. Duh! I'm still successful and still flying for a major American airline. My daughter likes that too.

I was obese the greater portion of my life. I lost 105lbs naturally in less than a year and I’ve kept it off for years without even regularly exercising anymore. Losing weight is not hard nor is keeping off the weight. What’s hard for people is their lack of self-control and/or poor relationships with food. How often did we see 300lb people even 20 years ago? Not often at all! It was a rarity. Having such a high rate of morbidly obese people is a new phenomenon that must be stopped. There is no reason (no even a medical condition) that so many people are morbidly obese. Even if someone has a medical condition that effects their weight, it wouldn’t make them morbidly obese; overweight? Sure… that’s understandable with a medical condition, but they exacerbate their existing issue by eating poorly which is why they are morbidly obese. People are riddled with excuses for their short comings and aren’t honest with themselves. Losing weight isn’t hard; people have a weakness for things that are horrible for them.
@MrSamrobz
@MrSamrobz 2 жыл бұрын
Well said! People need to stop making excuses. If you eat clean healthy food and exercise the weight will fall off it is as simple as that. In some instances even if you can't exercise for whatever reason simply eating healthy food will make you drop weight.

Just make sure to lose it slowly, otherwise you end up with lose flabby skin, especially around the 100lb of loss and greater area, you can get stuff like turkey neck, which is why a lot of obese people who are well educated in the matter simply can't be fucked as they feel they will still be ugly and it's a waste of effort, However it really isn't as even if you can't afford a skin tuck, the physical fitness side will lead to greater mobility and drive in life.

Your body is efficient, Walk for an hour 300 cals wasted, High intensity workouts for short period of time you will hardly burn anything either. You can easily double your base metabolic rate by packing muscle though. Your base rate is like 2k a day for the average human, go look yours up in a calculator. Taller people burn more, too. He could also be doing more physical activity outside the gym such as jogging, which will burn quite a bit, or better yet cycling (Less cals/km but more per minute). Perhaps he has a physical job, too. Either way you can't burn much cals in a short time, it takes ages. Tl;dr he probably eats less then you.
