I just found you this weekend and watching how quickly this channel is growing…I’m so happy for you! I’m a mid-life suburban mom of 2 teens residing in the burbs of Vancouver. I do that too! The cooking tools are washed before I sit down to eat. I really don't like dishes in the sink. My BFF (since the second grade) is like my polar opposite on "stuff." First thing I do whenever I walk into her house is do her dishes that are in the sink. She tolerates me -- she's actually glad when I visit her (in another state) because I just naturally start doing the work. hahaha

Thank you for sharing about eating the same meals. I have realized that trying to cook all these different meals give me great anxiety. I am the type of person that if I like a meal I am just going to eat the same thing everyday and I am alright with that, Thanks for the conformation because I am trying to eat more healthier so I can get my eating in a more positive direction. :) I just love your channel, thanks for sharing :)

Thank you so much ! I rarely comment something, i am new in US and i still struggle with making food. I work in a corp entry lever job and i am getting really overwhelmed after work so i order take out and as i live in suburbs i have access to fast food the most. Since i moved from Ukraine i have gained weight here and some stomach issues. Just glad that i found your channel it makes me calm and i feel very supported. ❤

Welcome to America Anastasia ❤️ I’m sure you have been on quite a journey coming from Ukraine. Fast food is a tricky one here- it’s quick and cheap and everywhere, but is unfortunately not good for the body. I understand not wanting to cook after a long hard day at work, but simple things like rice, potatoes, beans, lentils and fresh fruit and vegetables can be very easy to prepare and very affordable too- perhaps you can try these 🩵🩵

I usually do one main shop once a week and often times a second quick shop to pick up odds and ends. The absolute must haves are fresh organic fruit, assorted potatoes and rice :)

Vegetables and fruits and berries and lettuce are sooo expensive in Russia, except for potatoes and carrots. Definitely not minimalist choice here.

Seriously maybe like 3 lol. That dinner I showed is usually 5 nights a week, then one night I will likely make pasta, and one night a week I like to go out to a fun restaurant for Thai or Indian or some other yummy vegan food. Breakfast is always fruit- I just rotate what fruits are in season :)

Welcome to the family Rose! I have no idea how many grams of protein I consume as I don’t believe in counting macros or calories. The protein persuasion is a marketing myth- I go off of how my own energy feels, not off of someone else’s prescription ;)

It’s a common misconception that plant foods don’t have protein, but they do! Everything shown in the video has protein- as long as you eat enough, your daily needs will get met. The protein obsession is just a marketing ploy. Carbohydrates are my most important energy source that fuel me and make me feel great. I’m not much of a snacker these days, but if I need something between meals it will be more fruit, some raw veggies, crackers and hummus or a handful of nuts :) Oh and yes just water- fancy flavored beverages are not exciting to me lol.

Carbs fill me up and keep me going! And it’s hard to tell from the camera angle but my dinner and lunch bowls are huge. The bowl I use for my dinner is meant as a family serve bowl, not an individual size 😅

That’s okay! We are all on our own path. The body can change over time too though- I was vegetarian for 20 years before I went vegan, and dairy was my favorite food. I thought it would be super difficult to let go of dairy because I loved it so much, but after a month of not eating it, my desire for it completely went away to the point where it actually repulsed me and I never craved it, which surprised me!

Oof wish I remembered the brand- it’s not on the blade, but I got it from Bed Bath and Beyond. It’s a Japanese style blade but I thiiiiink a German brand 😬

Yes correct- I don’t find it necessary and it’s also a big inflammatory trigger for me. I’m not 100% oil free because I do eat out at restaurants, but when cooking at home I don’t use it. Makes doing dishes a breeze!

In the past when I was a professional athlete and under intense pressure to be thin, I had a history of restricting calories. I never really had “food addictions” though to anything like sweets etc.

Your diet sorrowfully lacks in protein. One protein patty per day, 5 days a week is not nearly enough. Do you supplement with protein powders or shakes or something?

I’m not into supplement culture- I think Mother Nature gave us everything we need. Carbohydrates are my main source of energy. I do not count macros- I go off of how my body feels. Eating this way gives me amazing physical and mental energy and stamina, so I follow that, not someone else’s prescription. But you do what feels right for you!

@@toritabb That doesnt change the fact that the human body needs protein, a minimum of 90 grams a day, to remain healthy. Its what fuels your muscles. If you dont have it, your body will eat itself a.k.a. eat its muscle.
