Sometimes we get stumped on healthy ideas for meals. Hopefully this videos is helpful to you to have a few new ideas. Some of these meals have a mediterranean diet twist to it. Lots of olive oil and vegetables along with sourdough bread.

I heard that too. You refrigerate pasta or rice or quinoa for 24 hours before eating it and it makes it more healthy, especially for diabetics! Those meals look so good!

And the resistant starch is a great prebiotic they have found....so another win for the gut

It is so pretty today in southern Ohio. I do the Mediterranean diet too. That is what my doctor recommends. That is a very nice back yard. Great meal ideas. I want to lose at least 10lbs., so this looks like good ideas. Thank you! Enjoy the rest of your week.

I always, always am excited when you post new videos Sandy! Keep up the great work - you are so chill, sensible and confident in your videos. Also love how you do so much research on things and am very grateful you do so. Excited about, and looking forward to, the upcoming olive oil and resistant starch info you are going to share. I'm a Type 2 Diabetic so that info should be helpful. I just retired the other day (4/30/24) after 50 years in the work force. I really want to get healthier, exercise more and have more "me" time now that I have 40+ hours added into my life! Been watching you for about a year now and plan to implement a lot of your lifestyle ways into my new chapter! Be well and thanks for all you do and share!

I do the starch trick, too! That resistant starch is really good for your gut. Yummy meals!

Yes! and...I have learned it's a great prebiotic also. So it really helps the gut along with keeping sugar levels more stable.

Love your videos, I have 25 lbs gone since Christmas, I never started fully with intermittent fasting till Jan but I struggle with getting a good meal plan. Love seeing what you have in your day to day meals plans. I was never a person who planned meals.

I'm a guy to start with and planning meals is not my thing - In my case most of what I eat is meat - I had worked the offshore oilfields for yrs and we were fed 95% meat - For breakfast many of us ate stake lol - I like grains and all that but an all meat diet works out better for my gut - You might look up meat diets on you tube there are some interesting insights on meat diets - in my case I just through meat in the oven and broil it - I eat a lot of eggs also the worst that happened is my blood pressure dropped to 115/70 and my doctor says my blood work always looks good these days - I just go to a restaurant when I have the craving to eat things as sandy prepares - it looks so good lol -

I eat mostly Mediterranean diet and just a week ago, I started eating plant based. I can't afford the grass fed meats, etc, so I just quit eating meat. Another great video Sandy

Just eat treat meat as if it were a condiment instead. Eat small portions and that way it will stretch into several meals instead of just one

Quinoa is easy to make and freeze too. I can't always eat a whole batch in a week, but when I freeze half of it, I can let it thaw and use it when I am ready again.

That color looks so pretty on you! I also refrigerate my rice, grains and potatoes overnight before eating to increase the starch resistance. Great video!

Thank you! I actually went and had a color analysis done for fun. It actually was really fun! Someone suggested it to me and I am learning what colors look best on my skin.

Great video...I take a tablespoon if Olive Oil with Cayenne Pepper and Lemon in the morning on an empty stomach and at nite before bed. I just put it in a shot glass and shot it down lol. Im looking forward to hearing your findings onnit and some good evoo choices

I always cook my rice and sweet potatoes a day ahead and refrigerate. Actually, the sweet potatoes I cook plenty and freeze in small containers for me and my pups 🐾 ❤

I love these videos, I learn a lot! Sandy, I hate to ask, but would you consider filming a wide angle of your patio, especially showing the roof line? I would love to see how it is all constructed. Your patio is a dream ❤❤❤ I would never leave it 😂

Oh, getting the starter going was not easy. I watched so many different KZfaq videos and they were confusing. I found this guy on YT named Jonathan Tabler. He made it easy for me to understand. This was a really good what I eat in a day video. For me though it was worryingly similar to what I eat, which is worrying because I am on a weight gain plan but have only maintained for the last 5 weeks, so that kind of explained why and it made me realise that I will need to add it additional drinks of milk, and bakery items for snacks and dessert or yoghurts I guess for to get back to 1kg gain per week which I did in hospital. Still I wont have to gain forever. I also often freeze baked sweet potato or boiled rice and it does taste different when you used it again and I think that is something to do with starch. I like olive oil but dont cook that much stuff that needs oil, like I just microwave veg or cook fish in milk. I notice you like quinoa, not sure if I had it before but maybe I will try it, I defo had cous cous at Uni and liked that. So yeah this video revealed alot to me, and also that it is okay to have apple as a breakfast fruit as I normally eat them later. Thank you 💛

Are you putting enough healthy fats in your meals each day? Since you don’t use many oils. Nuts, seeds, avocados, fatty fish for example. Our brains need those healthy fats.

@@sandysteinbrook Yes you might be right, I have 2 scoops of peanut butter a day and the fat is in milk but I have an appointment with my dietician next week so hopefully i can make some changes to get back on the weight gain I need. yes I can try those you suggest, I eat smoked haddock once a week but that might not be fatty, I could buy the kind in breadcrumbs and fry it maybe. thanks for reading and replying to my comment.

Sandy, have you spoken to any "issues" you have had with IF? For example, when I do IF I cannot leave my house because when I finally do eat, I have to be near a bathroom. 💩 It's like my body is screaming at me and says, "oh no you didn't just feed me?" or maybe "I'm going to pay you back for not feeding me." I am literally afraid to leave my house. If I leave my house while IF, and my husband wants to eat out, I will tell him "no" and we go home to eat. It's very discouraging but I do need to get some weight off (about 25 pounds). 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm perplexed....

Awe, I am sorry to hear that. That is no quality of life. Maybe IF won't work for you. I know that is discouraging, but it doesn't work for everyone. Your body seems to be saying no. I also know it is discouraging when trying to lose weight and nothing is going off. I am not sure of your age but, hormones may be playing a role in your weight gain too.

I am needing to lose 20lb but no matter what I do I just keep gaining weight,I am so depressed I eat lots of boiled eggs and like vegetables but something the veg just blot me so much,I like canned tuna and samon but like to mix mayo in it I tryed eating with yogurt in it but didn’t really like that because I don’t like yogurt so don’t know what to do with the can fish,really need help
