Son Gohan has been a fan favorite ever since his big moment in the Cell Saga. We didn’t much care for him when he was a tiny crybaby, but the moment he displayed Super Saiyan 2, a form that has become synonymous with him, we fell in love. But since that moment, Gohan has fallen off the band-wagon. He began his decline during the Majin Buu Saga and by Resurrection F, he had become a shadow of what he used to be, only getting his mojo back toward the Tournament of Power Arc. The reason for this is not really the fault of anyone, and no, it’s not Chi-Chi’s fault either. Gohan just merely didn’t have the time or desire to. Gohan, for all his power, has always been a pacifist and a scholar at heart, so for him to stop training and focus on what he himself wants is expected. And when he got married to Videl and had Pan, his time got consumed even more, which is what led to his shameful display during Frieza’s revival. But one thing occurs to me as I witness his wasted fighting potential. What would have happeend if Gohan stayed serious about it? What if Gohan never stopped training?

You miss a few things in my opinion. During the time skip we know Chichi trained Goten, in this alternate universe Gohan would train Goten. Goten and Trunks would grow much faster. All 4 become significantly stronger.

I've always wondered, if goten can use ssj just by training with chichi while trunks just trained by himself to get ssj, doesn't that meant that they have even higher potential than gohan? If gohan trained them, wouldn't they just be stronger than gohan? I don't think gohan would even needed to fight anyone since goten and trunks would just obliterate everyone.

Gohan losing to majin buu is kinda nuts - if he's strong enough to smoke dabura in his base super Saiyan form then his ssj2 form should do something to buu. Also I find it hard to believe that a Gohan who has a new resolve (being gokus successor and given his respect for his father he would take this seriously and train hard) only becomes majin vegeta level after 7 whole years of training. One year in the HTC brought Gohan from not even being able to use ssj to mastering ssj and tapping into ssj2 albeit briefly. If you apply that growth to 7 years he should be lightyears ahead of Goku and vegeta especially considering the fact that he has more potential than both of them which is constantly being reiterated to viewers. Writing aside if we apply that logic then Gohan with 7years of training should kerb stomp fat buu

I mean, while Gohan in this AU realizes that he holds a responsibility as one of the universe's strongest fighters, he still isn't big on fighting. I'll apply my own headcanon and assume that while Gohan still trained, he didn't train in majority, advancing in his studies and getting with videl and what not. Gohan losing to Buu makes a lot of sense too. SSj2 is 2 times stronger than ssj, and Buu is many times stronger than Dabura, so It makes perfect sense that Gohan would still lose.

Vegeta did have ssj2 before becoming Majin, he saw goku use it for a split second and he was excited because he knew goku also had ssj2 just like him and gohan

They did that because Gohan would be to op and everything would be easy to with so they had to nerf his ass, but I did love his character development into becoming a book smart hard working dad and family man

Honestly, DB is kinda crazy with multipliers and potential, Saiyans get a ton of crazy forms that multiply their power by 50, 100, 400, SSG(Probably around at thousand, but at least stronger than SSJ3), SSGSS(50x SSG), and Kaioken on top of that. Most other races get nothing, especially humans and they have to make villains incredibly powerful or the hero’s incredibly stupid so that they can fight the heros who have multipliers/forms and many allies(if they all just ganged up on an enemy, they could probably beat them easily since most operate alone such as Frieza, who has his army, but they are weak, Cell and Buu, who were handled well because of absorption and regeneration, and Jiren), they would probably have to buff the enemies and have more fighters.

06:41 Vegeta could already access SSJ2, he didn't need Majin to reach that level... And they said Deborah is as strong as Cell, I'm pretty sure they we referring to Super Perfect Cell which would mean that both Goku and Vegeta were stronger than SSJ2 Teen Gohan

When was that stated? He never used it and didn't ever say he had it. And he seemed upset that Goku also overcame the Super Saiyan Wall like Gohan had.

The fact of the matter is that if he only went ss2 once he got the power of majin so it’s safe to assume he couldn’t go ss2 before. But people have been saying otherwise so I’m still kinda not sure. Cause from my memory vegeta hit a wall and was unable to break the wall surpassing regular super saiyan 1 and he got jealous gohan could and samd with Goku so he got babidi power

Vegeta did had Super Saiyan 2, in manga it's stated that Goku and Vegeta had the only problem is that Goku was superior in strength to Vegeta because he was bound to mortal conditions like getting tired ir the need to sleep then Babidi showed up and unlocked his potential

Gohan’s my favorite character. Always will. But I was thinking what if Gohan can train and do the things he’s doing now at the same time. It’s possible to be a scholar, a family man and train to get back stronger or way than you were before. He doesn’t need to be the strongest but to be stronger enough to be ready when another evil new or old threat tries to conquer earth. Not just to be relied on Goku or Vegeta or just Goku to protect it. He could be a main character. Doesn’t need to be Goku all the time to save the earth. I don’t really want him to be the strongest just to be focused on more and other characters too.

It still wouldn't be enough to be on par with the foes they'd face. The difference between say, a Gohan with a training routine, is that while Gohan would train regularly, he still lacked the initiative, even in a fanfiction unless you destroy his character completely, that Vegeta and Goku have to seek not just higher levels of power, but more and more ridiculous methods of training. So he'd have to literally have periods of his life where he just goes monkey neuron activation and train for god knows how long, which isn't his character to do, and even then, it wouldn't be the 24/7 sigma grindset life that Goku and Vegeta have towards training. He would literally have to throw his current life away to come close enough to stand side by side with them against the more powerful foes like Jiren, or Golden Frieza, who have godly levels of power.

Actually the Daizenshuu, and official Dragon Ball Guide book stated that both Goku AND Vegeta achieved Super Saiyan 2 during the 7 year time skip.

It's 3 months old but people have got to stop saying Vegeta didn't unlock ssj2 until he turned Majin it's just not true. During the time skip he never stopped turning and he unlocks ssj2. Now you might be asking why did he allow himself to become a Majin it's because the Majin mark proves a power up, and with Goku coming back and Vegeta witnessing Goku's new power didn't want to lose to him again so allowed it. Kinda dumbed it down but there's videos going into great detail on why he let himself become a Majin

You got something wrong Vegeta DID have SSJ2 but the power was very less in comparison to Goku's SSJ2 which was seen during the fight with Yakkon Babidi's mind control Helped Vegeta's SSJ2 get a power boost and become equivalent to Goku's SSJ2 that's why Majin Vegeta challenged Goku to a fight

Here's the answer if he never stopped training then Toriyama's claim that Gohan's the strongest might have some validity to it. And I say might have some validity because Akira Toriyama is known for forgetting things about his own continuity and has to be reminded on the regular.

The thing was, Gohan was gonna be the strongest and become the main protagonist after Goku died during the Cell Saga. Unforunately, fans and a editor wasn't really a big fan of that idea and made Gohan go into the side character lane.

So Amati I don’t think you know but the manga timeline of granola and Moro is not canon only canon to manga but the Broly movie literally comes right after the tournament of power and the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie comes right after the Broly movie and both are canon to the anime so I don’t know why you didn’t include them because they are canon to the anime

I don’t believe that you’re properly factoring in Gohan being stated to have the highest potential and growth rate. 7 years of straight training would have put him well above Vegeta in the Buu saga. That miscalculation threw off the scaling of the whole video.

I have to agree to this gohan have the potential to be the strongest saiyan stronger than goku and vegeta and of course because he don't train that much he is not the strongest but is he did train who knows how strong gohan will be if he did
