I'm surprised Brock didn't take offense to the Cerluean Sisters not doing their duty, sure he wants to be a Breeder but he always took being a gym leader seriously.

He definitely would've. I just felt like it would mess with pacing to have Brock argue with the sisters, only for them to do nothing

Another great part, dude! Seeing Ash bond with Gyrados was sweet, and while it is sad to see Ash not obtain his iconic grass starter, it does mean his team likely continues to grow differently. Of course, he still has Charmander, so that's nice. I wonder how this Ash will do in the future since you seem to be building him to be more competent than his original self in Indigo league. Also, Misty vs. Gary? Now, there is an exciting fight.

I feel like the Damien part is going to go places!!! He is going to keep BEATING Ash, but because he (Damien) doesn't TRAIN or even WORK with his Pokemon, its all going to come to a Head in the Indigo League when he Finally LOSES to Ash!!! POWERFUL Pokemon can only get you so far! HOPE Ash SWEEPS him in the League!!!

Some people think that Brock should've gotten Charmander in canon. I felt that the inclusion of Machop could result in changes to the story that would make people feel like Charmander should be with Ash

This was pretty good I am excited about the next part also it was interesting to see misty vs Gary and glad ash got charmander, glad that finally ash defeats aj in a what if but man I am starting to hate Damian even more a little sad that ash didn't get bulbasaur but hey can't change anything but this was great a 13/10

Excellent development here. Im bit disappointed Ash didn't get Bulbasaur here because always felt he matched the most with him out of the 3 kanto starters he got. Hopefully Machop gets his evo in the next part. It's rare i stories where this line gets some focus

That was AMAZING!!! Having to handle a big power house like Gyrados, I'm pretty sure Ash will come out more mature in the 1st season of your series than he did in the 1st season of the actual anime.
