Let me make a few things clear: 1. I am not praying on the downfall of this series if you actually pay attention to what I say in my reaction FULLY. 2. The girl-boss thing is simply a meme, not that deep 3. I fully understand the outfit thing, if you read my on-screen text in the edit / video 4. I know other series that drop all at once can be really good, if you listen, I acknowledge this 5. Please pay attention to my actual words, thanks for watching my legends

@@StonyStark No I don't know. Someone left a comment and the channel creator acted like it was a stupid comment because he already addressed it. @@Stark-Cinema Oh I see what's happening now I had to take a second to zoom out into the comment section. You suck at taking criticism. You are arguing with everyone in the chat. You realized maybe that was not a good idea and starting making comment from a different account in defense of yourself. But you are such a narcissist you put your name username so its obvious that it's you lol. You tried to make a video about a topic that you had almost no knowledge about. Why would you expect it to go well? Fallout is a beloved franchise and people who enjoy it know almost every visual detail and lore detail. This entire series is going to be full of inside jokes/easter eggs for people who know the series. So you are going to look inherently clueless because you don't know any of that. And everytime you say something clueless the fallout community is going to have something to say. Either educate yourself or get over the criticism.

@@Stark-Cinemahave to agree with Paul here cause comparing her to Rey is just ignorant. Fallout lets you pick your gender in the game, it is not solely a “male” led game. Vault dwellers by their nature would be naive. We play from their perspective because they're the player / audience's route into a different world. But it's a typical thing that the player racks up a body count and develops into a force of nature within the wasteland.

From the trailer, the Vault Dweller (yes shes a female and probably has more than a few lines in the movie) is very innocent to the world outside the Vault and not badass. That seems to be more in line with your preference for female characters. She doesn't show much in the trailer because they basically just showed her in the Vault and outside of it at the beginning of her journey in basically an entire new world. Heck, it might as well be a different planet. I'm pretty certain there will be some character development and she will be more interesting over the course of 8 episodes vs a 3 minute trailer.

I think Lucy (girls' name) is going to evolve from a naive wide-eyed vault dweller into someone more hardened by the wasteland, but I don't expect she's going to start killing everyone like a super ninja. That's probably going to be more where the cowboy ghoul and the brotherhood of steel guy fit in.

I don’t think comparing a Fallout show to “Rings of Power” is a legitimate 1:1. For one, the Fallout show isn’t adapting any of the games, and takes place after the (chronologically) latest entry, Fallout 4. RoP, on the other hand, didn’t have the rights to adapt The Silmarrilion, so they ended up creating a hodgepodge of “original” lore to fill in the gaps of preestablished Tolkien lore, which ended up screwing up the tone of everything. Making Galadriel a flawless, stoic, lone-wolf warrior rather than a shrewd leader and politician is essentially character assassination to fulfill a modern power fantasy. They wanted a warrior when Galadriel is much more of a diplomat. I think being wary of a sequel series doesn’t lack legitimacy, though: the Star Wars sequels suffered from a protagonist succeeding without the trials a protagonist needs to become great, and the entire trilogy basically just retread the ground the original trilogy did. Nothing of merit was offered. But Fallout’s female protagonist may not suffer the fate of Galadriel and Rey, because thus far we haven’t seen her trouncing enemies left and right, in a world she hasn’t been trained for. Maybe she will know basic survival and how to shoot a gun, but that’s not much different than any female protagonist in a Fallout game before. And unlike RoP, which is basically a Medieval Europe themed show cast with a modern London population, the diversity of Fallout makes sense given the nuclear war takes place 50 years from our own future. And there’s the bonus of Jonathan Nolan working on it, he’s been a solid screenwriter. Though one of the writers is also a Captain Marvel writer, so…. Best tactic is to hope it’s an adequate adaptation and not be too quick to jump on the angry, anti-woke KZfaq grift train. Those channels are a dime a dozen these day. Be unique, not a collectivist

I agree, it could be a shit-show. BUT...I do like the look of it, I like the castings so far. Walton Goggins KILLS everything he does, and he looks damn good as Ghoul, I'll watch it just for him! This looks LITERALLY like the game, a fresh out of the vault baby thrown into a crazy CRAZY world. I do NOT think I am going to work the day after this drops, just sayin!!

My only concern, was from the interviews, and not the trailer. In the interviews, the production manager confirmed they are trying to replicate the game aesthetic and props to be as faithful as they can. The head writer however, said that Fallout would just be a backdrop for them to write their own narrative. This is concerning to me. But regardless, as of now, I find no issue with the trailer, the characters, or the teased story.

The Silmarillion is an academic exercise and pretty dull the biggest problem with Rings of Power is the source material. Fallout on the other hand is one of the best video games for a live action TV show because there is no story it has to adhere to, yes they need to get the look, tone and lore writ large correct but they are not tied to any particular story because the games are all stand alone stories.

Did this man call the Silmarillion dull?
@killgoretrout90002 ай бұрын
@@KeytarArgonian Yep it's a snooze fest and I love LOTR and The Hobbit books but the Silmarillion is essentially an academic exercise. A better idea would've been to do a show about the Blue Wizards as other then knowing they went into to lands of Southrons and Easterlings we have no other info on them. For Rings of Power we already know how everything ends.
@KeytarArgonian2 ай бұрын
@@killgoretrout9000 a better idea would have been to actually do a show about the Silmarillion, which is only slow at the start. Rings of power is about something like 10 pages in the appendices of return of the king. It’s why it can only talk about the characters listed there, and nobody else from the Silmarillion. It’s why it can’t show anything else that happened in the Silmarillion.
@killgoretrout90002 ай бұрын
@@KeytarArgonian It's essentially the authors notes for The Hobbit and the LOTR not the stuff of good TV. Add to that even people who only watched the movies are gonna now how everything ends. It was terrible idea to try and turn it into a TV show and has gone about as well as I expected it would when announced. Now the Blue Wizards that has potential and the great advantage of not being constrained by Tolkien's text since other than them going to the lands of the South and East nothing is known about them.

I thought her outfit looks great. Its a vault suite. It looks overly bright, cheap and corny just like the games. Plus she just left the vault which i know you mentioned. You can see her suit get dirtier and bloodier in certain scenes and i think thats a really cool way of showing her gradual change. At the end of the trailer Goggins calls her a killer and she's not wearing the suit anymore. I'm not sure where the girl boss thing comes from. I think its just a projection of the weird broader culture war going on. Apperantly its more realistic for a guy to kill a hundred people with his badass skills over a female doing that or something. I dont know. I grew up watching schlocky B action movies from the 80's and 90's where badass babes in skimpy outfits are killing ten or 20 dudes with their bare knuckles and smack talking that men cant do anything right. I guess im woke. Anyways i think the guy who wrote Westworld and The Dark Knight trilogy will kill it with Fallout, and having the studio behind The Boys, Invincible, and the best Phillip K. Dick adaptations ive ever seen only helps. ( LotR:RoP is the outlier, not the pattern )

Similar to the Borderlands movie, this could have done with coming out 4 or 5 years ago or thereabouts. Fallout 4 was 2015 - and the following few years were the peak of that IP. Both seem a little out of touch in 2024 to me. I mean, I enjoyed Fallout 4 but it's been donkey's years since it's been on my radar. Never bothered with the online sequel, like a lot of players. I guess I'm just not that interested in it any more, but I'll still watch it and see what it's like.

The same thing they did to LOTR and Wheel of Time. Putting a chick in it and making it gay and lame for 'modern audiences'. I'm hoping this will be good, but not holding my breath. The odds of us getting something like Emily Blunt in Edge of Tomorrow vs Brie Larson in anything else is low but we can at least hope.

As an OG Fallout player I'm stoked for this show. So far, the trailers are showing us some good stuff. No issue with a woman lead so long as it's not the "girl boss" they've been writing as of late which are really just female a-holes with no real character arc...from the trailers it looks like a naive woman leaves the vault only to learn what the outside world is really like them have to adapt to save it or something. It looks like it'll be good, my hopes are that it's not a woke mess but so far so good...
@gregheath81062 ай бұрын
Are you fine with "boy bosses" in movies or shows I they fall fall into the a-hole and no character arc role? I'm genuinely curious, because often the standards are different. A man doesn't get the criticism for acting a certain way, but a woman action the same way, gets criticized for being an a-hole or B.
@jacobrjager2 ай бұрын
@@gregheath8106 only if they are the villain, male or female. You can have a boss male or female and not be an a-hole and there should be some sort of character arc that helps make the audience like the main character as the story progresses. It's all too often "the one" syndrome these days.
@gregheath81062 ай бұрын
@jacobrjager what are some examples of a-hole bosses, male and female, I'm just trying to see exactly which you are referring to. I might not have seen these, so I'm intrigued. But yes, I agree that a lead character/boss should be someone you can root for and have some development.

@@gregheath8106 Forspoken, the one where the main character is a black female who "has issues" and then gets a magic wrist band, goes on many adventures only to basically be the same at the end...Another would be last of us part two, the character that killed Joel showed no good characteristics and was not just the "bad bitch" but also a protagonist that was poorly fipled out.
