2 жыл бұрын“We made all these advances,” says Christine Burns, activist, editor of Trans Britain: Our Long Journey from the Shadows and OBE recipient. “And most people didn't even notice we were there because we don't impinge on people's lives. We just want to get on with having private lives. And it wasn't until about 2017 that a confected campaign was launched with certain of Britain's newspapers. Suddenly we went to having, with some newspapers, three or four very negative articles a week.”
That volume of coverage by the media, along with the tone and nature of the coverage, has led to increasingly uncomfortable scrutiny for transgender people, says Nancy Kelley, chief executive of Stonewall UK.
“Our press regulator saw that between 2009 and 2019, you see a 400% increase in coverage of trans people and their lives. And that's just kind of too much to be talking about such a small population.”

While science hasn't yet worked out what does make someone trans, it has been well established that it's not contagious and children cannot catch it either from trans people or from the knowledge that trans people exist. 2. I really don't know how you translate 'wanting to quietly get on with our lives' to 'loud burdens'. 3. What on earth do you mean with 'being virtuous in being a victim'? It seems to me you're both saying I'm a victim and simultaneously blaming me for speaking up. Also, I never said I'm a victim.

earlier this year, i finally had the courage to come out as trans. it was so liberating, i wasnt hiding the true me anymore. but when i came out as trans, i started experiencing transphobia right away, it was verbal abuse to start, and then one day whilst minding my own business taking a walk and playing pokemon on my switch i was physically attacked by someone, all of this just because i am transgender. the comments here are full of people making ridiculous claims about trans people and it is just so upsetting. i just want to live my life as who i am. im not hurting anyone. i didnt deserve to be attacked idk why people think that its ok to hurt people for no reason. i have had to relocate from the place i grew up in because of that incident where i was assaulted, i could put up with the verbal stuff, it still hurts but, when i was attacked that was the last straw. ive had to move away from everyone i know, its lonely af. i really hope in years to come things will get better for trans people. idk why people cant just leave me alone.

@@purevenus6359 It’s only natural that some male swimmers will have advantages over other male swimmers. But no female swimmer can fairly compete with a male swimmer. No amount of HRT will change important and career enhancing physical qualities that males possess: broader shoulders, lower overall fat, metabolic rate, etc.

because what you think is happening isnt really as big as u think it is. in order for a trans women to compete in womens sports they must show a maximum of 5 nanamoles of testosterone for 12 months prior(94% of trans women have less then 2 nanamoles which is the same as a cis gender). studies have shown afterwards trans women have roughly 12% advantage in running over an average woman. to b anywhere close to the top ud have to b 59% faster. if trans women were truly dominating sports we would see them winning tons of awards. theyve been able to compete since 2004 and weve seen no such thing

@@evagaymer3301 But the advantage doesn’t end with testosterone. The average male is much taller than the average woman, that can’t be reversed with HRT, and it is a huge advantage in many sports. Same for lung capacity, metabolism, etc. There’s not “a lot” of trans women dominating sports simply because there’s not a lot of TW to begin with. But even just one case of biological men displacing women is problematic for me.

This is why people end up wasting their time arguing when people have their own different views when people have their own different views. There's no such thing as what my grandad used to say there is no such thing as good and bad intentions. People need to understand that people are human and then they want to live their lives how they want to live it. We don't need people judged, hating on other people for their lives, even if they're doing wrong bad things sometimes and mistake, harmful things that might trouble society, but we should accept, fixing it and grouping out together instead of arguing and backing people around we should become together, so we're both in the middle of good and bad. Many LGBT don't agree with Stonewall org and all the definitions and accusations they put forward. There's a social contingent of young girls demographic influenced as trans. Just ask the detrans who acknowledged they made a mistake. A lot of trans don't agree with these guests. Trans actually state that the activists have made the debate toxic and dangerous for the real trans people. Most trans, who are actually transsexuals living heterosexual lives, want nothing to do with LGB. It's only a tiny tiny group. LGBT + " community" as stated by Stonewall is very very segregated. Basically the community means everybody has the right to live their life as they wish After that, most isolate into their own groups. Trans issues have taken over LGB and so LGB are leaving the exaggerated alphabet "community ". The tactic of victimhood is the only thing that gives Stonewall any relevance.

I’m sorry but i missed your election as. spokesperson for gay people. Precisely when were you elected? You speak for no one but yourself, you and you alone. You certainly don’t reflect my anecdotal experiences of gay people’s attitude towards the trans movement, also know as human being just wanting equality, respect, and the ability to get on with there lives free of prejudice and discrimination. Indeed, in my personal experience the gay world embraces their trans brothers and sisters. Perhaps that’s because gay people not so long ago tasted a thimble full of the bigotry that our wonderful trans people fave today, and we remember how bitter, putrid, and harmful it tasted, a taste that never left us. I stand shoulder to shoulder with the trans movement, their fight is my fight, their success and setback are mine too, and believe me when i say this, history will look favourably on today’s trans movement. I know there will always be the weak, those who give in to hate, there will always be the stupid too, but never before have the weak been so stupid, or the stupid as weak, as is manifestly evident in todays pitifully uninspiring transphobic lot.

My first ever encounter with anyone from the LGBT+ community was a rather negative experience. This led to me being labeled as homophobic or transphobic in various discord servers and things due to my lack of information and general communication issues. Despite this, over the past three hears I've realised I am an aromantic transbian. A true redemption arc, if I do say so myselff

Yes it is a great plan, because the press is reporting it with an agenda against trans people, they barely report the thousands of rape cases caused by cis men but when 1 out of the thousands of trans women gets arrested on sexual assault charges they label all of us as groomers and pedos and report it in scrutinizing detail, so they decide to use us as a scapegoat to distract from actual issues.

This is more like a "what color is the dress" type of scenario. The only difference is that you people think you're the only one's who get to have an opinion and that mine is evil and wrong, which is a really unhealthy mindset. You've become so inclusivity-focused and hypersensitive to others opinions that you've become close minded and oppressive. You're trying to say that changing ones gender is objectively right, but let me tell you this. There are thousands of biological differences between men and women. Modern medicine simply isn't advanced enough to change it. That's just the way it is. If you're born a man, then every single cell in your body, for the rest of your life will still say that you are male. It's literally written in your DNA, same with women. Denying that, just like denying that the color blue exists, is objectively wrong.

It’s scientifically proven that a trans person does have a brain structure that is more similar to the opposite gender. Trans-women have been observed to have brain structures that are more similar to cis-women than cis-men (bigger frontal lobes). Trans-men have been observed to have brain structure that are more similar to cis-men than cis-women (bigger cerebellum, cerebral cortex and hippocampus). Therefore. They have always been living the experience of that gender from birth and is not a delusion or mental a illness that has developed overtime. It is an unchangeable part of the brain structure and person since developing in the womb.

As a straight normal {cis} man I am happy to see advances made by both the gay and trans communities, however, I think it is too easy to say that the increase in transphobia is down to the media causing the populace to become baying hate mobs. I appreciate the journey, often bitter, that true transgender people go through but "self identification" has become a problem in its erosion of women's own born identity being erased so that strapping men can go into female changing rooms or into female prisons to assault real women. I hate seeing decent people hounded out of their jobs merely because they question the direction of travel. I also hate real transgender people being hounded and totally welcome the costs of changing gender being financed by the government for those who need to make that journey to be the person they really are inside.

I'm a trans person. I was born in Russia, but I live in the Netherlands 🏳️🌈 In Russia I was discriminated mostly by my family, by my relatives. Also, there were many homophobic/transphobic reports on the Russian TV. During my compulsory military service in the Russian Army, at first, I was accepted, and I was positive about that, but later I've gotten some problems, and I used my right to be fired from the Army because of my gender identity. In the Netherlands I was discriminated by many locals on the street and not only on the street. So, it was bad, worse than in Russia, but now it's going better. I don't want to leave the Netherlands because of my job and pretty much money. Mostly, economical reasons. I'm just a trans person. I'll not compete on the Olympics, of course 😂 This is a terrible idea.

what's wrong with that, LGBTQIA+ issues aren't widely reported on properly in the UK from what I've seen and read most of these articles are anti-LGBTQIA+, only a few are reported on properly and mostly it's done by idependent or international news media groups which is good

Of course there's an increase in transphobia, listening to these delusional, whiney, self centred and vacuous activists puts most of us off, we would otherwise be sympathetic if they really were marginalised, but they're not. Governments, schools, multi national corporations, big tech, Hollywood and sports associations are all kow-towing to their agenda, they have so much power for such a small percentage of the population.
