Really Good video. Thank you for clearly answering this question. One tip: do not use background noise suppression software in the camera or computer recording it, distorting you to a zoom call with all compression boxes clicked.

I only had one rifle cerakoted and I didn't like how much it changed my dimensions. I get the benefits, but regular maintenance should be enough to keep rust away for me. Wouldn't stop anyone from doing it, but I don't really like how mine came from aero.

Thank you for this comment. I ordered an ar10 cerakoted from aero. It was a receiver set, so hopefully it is worked out by now

Really good video but just to clarify something. The guy didn't want the shine on his gun because he actually uses it it's not just a conversation piece. If you hunt waterfoul with your gun or anything really, and they see the shine they won't land and they will fly away

There was no mention of how it wears. Ive heard from people if you are in and out of holsters it wears off...
@joseywales37893 жыл бұрын
PIKL101 everything wears where two surfaces contact! The art of a good coating is to allow good adhesion so that it doesn't chip or peel and to be tough (not hard, hard chips like glass) an enamel plate or mug chips easily, the polymer coating of a golf ball flexes but doesn't stick to the metal of a firearm very well. Think of a piston ring in a car engine, it wears against the cylinder wall, it travels up and down the cylinder bore many thousands of times every minute and it travels hundreds of thousands of miles during its service life. It has to be tough and hard but still ductile, not brittle. Cerakote has all of these properties but like I said in my first sentence..... everything wears where two surfaces contact! Cerakote have made a product that slows down that wear! It's ultra thin, great chemical resistance, its very hard to chip or peel, it sticks to the metal of the firearm very well but it has some drawbacks... it's not easy to apply, it needs an incredibly clean part to adhere well, it needs an oven to allow it to bake onto the surface and degass, it takes skill to apply the Cerakote evenly but most of all it's expensive to apply on an industrial scale. But for one off custom coatings, it the best!

This is a great video, but did you activate background noise cancellation? Sure, it makes the background a bit quieter but it also makes the main people talking sound artificial and weird.
