@@popejaimie I don't know if this counts as a spoiler, but there are people in the One Piece universe who use abilities even without Devil Fruits. I don't know if the show will get to the point where this is explained, but there are things like Haki and Rokushiki Techniques. (Kuro use a Rokushiki technique called Soru. It's basically super speed) It's not a rule, but if the ability is too "simple", it's probably not the power of a fruit, because fruit abilities are usually much more specific and creative than a simple "super speed power"

Just to clarify, those snails that the characters use as a communication device are actual animals. They’re not machines. That’s why Garp also feeds one in the show. They’re interesting creatures, besides being phones for some reason, they also copy the appearance of their owners. Garp’s has a beard, Morgan’s has that metal chin thing etc etc. One of my favourite weird creatures in One Piece.

Out of all reactors, I love your reactions the most. There are a lot changes made by Live Action but never the big events. In the heart of it, it's the same as the anime. There are one "spoiler" maybe, if you watch LA before anime or read the manga. but to me personally, is not a big spoiler itself, but finding out about it in the anime itself was actually a really funny experience for the fans. I do recommend you watch the anime. I know it's a lot, 1074 episodes as of now, but trust me it's worth it. The world building, the storytelling, the lore, the characters, the comedy, the emotions you'll get in this legendary world is something you won't find from any other stories. It will start slow on the first dozens episodes but the moment you reached Grand Line Arcs, you'll see how much it dwarfs everything that happens in the East Blue Arcs. If you ever decide to watch the anime, I am one for sure to follow that, and you'll understand why One Piece is the best selling comics in the world surpassing batman and superman comics. Plus you'll appreciate the Live Action more.

Its actually really nice seeing reactions (yours included) from people who haven't seen the anime or the manga. Although fans of the source material have been very positive about the live action, they often spend half of their reaction going through a checklist of all the major moments for each story beat and what was kept the same and what has been changed. Its just nice seeing reactors, like yourselves, just sit back and enjoy whats being presented and experience all the crazy and fun things in the series for the first time without knowing whats coming. Also I think the relationship with kaya and ussop was done really well here (even better than the anime/manga). I really enjoyed both of them talking about the other to luffy, nami and zoro, and getting all embarrassed. I ship it!
@kalisto5772

I actually liked the anime/manga better. People can be close friends and not be romantic
@cresentj
@cresentj 10 ай бұрын
@@Angelicwings1 they can, but that's literally most positive relationships in the series already. It's nice to see an actual romantic pairing for once and ussop and kaya meet that criteria better than almost any other pairing so I prefer this version of them.
@Angelicwings1
@Angelicwings1 10 ай бұрын
@@cresentj one thing I actually LIKED about One Piece was there wasn’t much focus on romance at all really. I’m tired of it. Especially boy/girl pairings which I find boring. They do make a sweet couple and it’s handled well I guess but I liked them as friends even more. That’s me though. It’s the same old trope they always do. The relationship isn’t even unique if they become romantic. At least with them as friends it was more unique. Even when they talk about them being boyfriend and girlfriend has been done to death. I think it’s backwards.
@cresentj
@cresentj 10 ай бұрын
@@Angelicwings1 I mean the exact same can be said about platonic relationships in anime. They are done to death especially in one piece. Ussop still has a platonic relationship with almost every other character he has a significantly positive relationship with in the series. Having one that's romantic isn't going to hurt especially considering shes not going to travel with them and will hardly appear. I'd argue the relationship is actually the most unique relationship in the series now. No other significant character has a romantic partner in the series (at least none I can think of right now) therefore making this unique by definition of the word unique. And just because non hetero pairings are under represented in media in general doesn't immediately undervalue hetero ones. If kaya was guy that wouldn't suddenly make their romantic relationship better. It would add to lgbtq+ representation in media which is nice but it wouldnt make this specific pairing in this specific story any better or worse from a story perspective. The use of their relationship to produce 2 very heartfelt and fun scenes (the convo/kiss with ussop leaving and the crews reaction to it & the conversation with nami and kaya / zoro, ussop and luffy). The best scenes for that arc in the show IMO, couldn't be achieved with them only having a platonic friendship, and that's more than enough justification for me to have this be a positive change from the manga/anime. But this is a pretty pointless debate as its essentially just preference vs preference. And no ones changing their mind on that.

As a longtime fan of “One Piece” and I am amazed how this live-action adaptation delivered so brilliantly! Also the part when Buggy the Clown meets Arlong, super unexpected as it didn’t happen in the original manga. It’s such a great idea! I really love this animalistic version of Arlong because he shows his beastly self a lot especially with lots of snarls and growls. The actor who played the evil Shark Man did a phenomenal job! Plus him forming a villainous team-up with Buggy? Brilliant! 💯

Kacee answering to Kaya's sickness with a "let's get her a devil fruit" was so natural for the rules of this world that one might say she has seen the show but no, and that speaks volumes of why this series has been going so strong for almost 25 years as the rules of this world has been stablished and now some stuff just becomes logical. Also yeah those deep moments in One Piece always hit hard. There are changes in how the series go but the key elements of what happens in every arc stay the same, Syrup Village having some of my favorite changes staying in Kaya's mansion and being a little more "horror" in style.

As others have said, Kuro doesn't have a devil fruit, he's just freakishly fast, same as Zoro is Freakishly strong. In the anime they go into a bit more detail, basically saying that when Kuro does his superspeeed move he can't see where he's going (or can't react fast enough to changes) so it's not perfect. That's why he doesn't just auto-win any fight. As for the changes . . . they are kinda major but not at the same time. Like Luffy's fight with buggy took place in the town in broad daylight, not in a darkly-lit big top. And the specifics of the fight were different, but in general the same thing happened . . . Buggy was proven to be a jerk and Luffy separated his head from the rest of his body parts to win, then freed the town.

They mostly changed how and when things happened rather than completely changing the core of the story, they adapted what they could and kept true to the source material! :D At the end of the day they kept the story and characters true and faithful, and they actually added a couple of things that are cannon that just never got to be made into the Anime and some even the Manga, which is bloody awesome for long time fans, filling in the story holes here and there :D

I'm currently in the thousands rn on the dub anime. This; this is absolutely everything! To get to certain things you've already seen would take possibly hundreds of episodes tbh. The streamlining of this makes it more efficient to watch in my opinion. You've still getting massive plot points but you're not having to go through "filler" don't get me wrong; some of the "filler" is actually really good and does add to things but this; this trims the fat without taking away the taste

I wont be surprised if you actually prefer some parts of the live action over the anime when you watch it that is how good this live action is.

the great thing about one piece is, that outside the anime/manga there a alot of informations that was delivered trough interviews, databooks and coverstorys, so that u can chance the story slightly from the original whilest still covering up the source material

without spoiling anything as to what the changes made were, the condensed the first 63 episodes of the anime into these 8 one hour episodes and events had to change while still keeping the core story there to make the condensing of so much source material.

The legend is that usopp's eyes are so sharp that it allows him to get a glimpse of his future nd the stories he told Kaya are actually glimpses he got of his future....I mean it's just a saying among fans but the author hasn't cnfrmed it

It mildly infuriates me that people thinks it's an adaptation of the anime. It was clearly mentioned that it's an adaptation of the manga. It matters because they are slightly different. The core story is the same they just changed how it plays out.

They’re are a lot of changes in the Live action but they overall story is the same and order of events are the same. As an example the way they meet Usopp is not on a ship. It’s somewhere else. Or in the Anime when they go to the house to visit/meet the Rich girl for the first time, it’s slightly different. There are also 3 characters in this Arc that are close to Usopp that they decided not to include probably bc it would just be to much of the story to try to fit in. So basically they changed things but the flow of the story is the same so even though they changed the events the characters still end up doing the main events and the order of things is correct mostly. Even though they changed things the characters personalities are still the same. The personalities of the characters doesn’t feel out of place and it doesn’t feel like “Oh that character would never do that in that situation”. Everything the characters do feel like something they would do or say even if those scenes where not in the Original Anime. And I think that shows how much care was put into the live action and how well the people working on this live action show actually understood the characters. It’s not just surface level but they understood the characters personalities enough and made them come to life. I feel like a mistake I see in live action sometimes is that when they change scenes or do something else they might make the mistake of making the characters do or react in a way that they would never do in the actual Anime. But in this live action they were spot on with how all the character speck and act, it’s truly impressive.

It only proves that LA delivers the OP really well especially to new viewers. That's why i commend them for how seamlessly they changed and summarized the scenes without getting rid the plot, message and feels of OP

Silly small/fun minor spoiler: Luffy's bounty, as of over one thousand Manga series, is now unknowable. They only have his straw hat picture. Fans assume it's over 150,000,000 berries, Nothing confrimed

Regarding the changes. There were many changes but it’s mostly just moving some story around to get to the same important plot points in the story. They just took different paths to get to the same destination compared to the anime.
