In the grand collective subconscious demanded by exactly what the Matrix is (its implied but never directly stated) the integral anomaly is the part of the system that identifies "I". Essentially, it is the part of the matrix that identifies as itself. That's why they can't get rid of it.

This is the best answer. “I” or a sense of self/ego brings upon it the illusion of choice (redpill/bluepill) as well as the illusion of subject/object (Messiah/Zion, humans/machines.)

No its not. I is clearly part of the structure of the ego. Or maya/atman for those who are religiously inclined. The anamoly refers to the inability to get rid of the element of free will in connection to its search for truth thus they need to entrap that impulse by controlling it trough the Messiah archetype.the eventuality of the integral anamoly is is the Messiah archetype that was created to control the integral anamoly. But the integral anamoly itself is represented by free will and its desire to connect to truth

@Morgan313 most definitely true. It's hard enough to find sonder in the modern world... most people have main character syndrome despite being, like me, a nobody in the grand scheme. But to also be given direct evidence of A) a chosen one existing, B) ones self BEING that chosen one, and C) people literally offering up their lives in exchange for you, not because of anything you've yet done but because of what you must yet choose to do... It's like the conscious mind (the anomaly) being pressed by the instincts driven by the subconscious (the Matrix) towards an internal conflict/paradox that cannot be simply resolved. The choice was never between red or blue, truth or lie, or even individuality or unity... It was truly more a choice between one's own internal sense of good and evil. If Neo, for instance, had taken the blue pill, he would have continued as Neo Anderson and seen Trinity, Morpheus, and the rest of Zion (though he wouldn't have been aware of their names) as terrorists, and in reality, he would have been just as correct as when he chose the red pill and saw the machines as tyrannical villains. That is the real choice: What do you think is right?

@jacman2x Exactly. If there is a collective subconscious, than any identity within that identifies "I" with both themselves and God is, by right, God. Which is to say, we were created in his image, and as such, all have a right to claim divinity.

In Hinduism the brahma is akin to the 'source' of reality, aka the matrix, in which the self is manifested within the confines of a material reality of reincarnation. The symbolism of reincarnation isnt necessarily about death but rather a change of perspective and self-identity. Each human manifestation is a change of perspective as well as a new identity bundled together. When one life begins another ends, when one ends another begins. Since humanity is the sole differentiation in a 'meaningless' material universe it is also the greatest clue to the purpose of life and physical reality. The one is within the matrix just like the matrix is within the one of Brahma. It's inevitable that the 'subconcious' of brahma (reality) would awaken and become manifested while the dreamer is dreaming. Brahma is becoming lucid and realizing it's own existence outside of the matrix and it's substance as being "One" with the source (Brahma). The dream is limitation in an otherwise infinite mind and it's purpose is identical to human dreams which is to process self-knowledge and experiences and to incorporate them into the self. This idea of a cold architect is interesting because the brahma is said to be completely disconnected to the 'reality' of the members within the dream hence the enlightened mind disregarding both pleasure and suffering and realizing that all is one (self).

I wanna know what happened to "the potentials"/spoon kids. Who were they? Were they programs? Red pills? Blue pills? Potential for what exactly? Did they have potential to be "the One" or did they just have the potential to ruin silverware?

They were red pills who were also One candidates. They were likely believed to be candidates for being the One because they showed some natural affinity for "bending the rules" of the Matrix, which seems to be one of the ways Morpheus and the others searched for the One. If you subscribe to the theory that the Oracle decided to make Neo the one by inserting the program of the integral anomaly through the cookie she offered him, then I guess they were also candidates to be chosen to become the integral anomaly, by whatever criteria the Oracle uses to select them.

Kind of like how when there is "An idea who's time has come". Many years ago, I read somewhere about how there were supposedly many messiah potentials around the time of christ. I think it was a gnostic accounting of events but at any rate it might be where this comes from...maybe not so much the person becones an anomoly, but instead the anomoly had always become a person. full agreement. It was choice that helped balance or stabalize the equation but it was the hope that choice created that led to the accumulation of the error variables in the equation leading to the manifestation of a "savior" who would fulfill society's hope for betterment or whatever. Apparently it takes about 100 years for the hope to develop enough strength to manifest in a savior.

If you really pay attention to the very first movie it's pretty obvious that the Wachowski's orchestrated the totality of the one as a Trinity symbology of father, son (or) rather daughter and Holy Spirit. Morpheus and Trinity were "the one collective" unknowingly directly influenced by the machines; especially the Oracle to inadvertently create and enact the integral anomaly outside of themselves by imbuing their energies on to someone else who assimilated into the system a lot more naturally than they did that could have far greater power & potential than they could both inside & outside of the simulation. That person was Thomas Anderson A.K.A Neo the master hacker whose nueral kinetics as mouse said "were way above normal." Neo never would have become the integral anomaly without Morpheus's wisdom & faith as well as Trinity's love. Morpheus and Trinity were the ones who made the path of "the one integral anomaly" possible by forging his path through choosing him, guiding him and assisting him on his journeys to discover & accumulate that power. Power that they never realized was also actually within themselves all along as well. Power that clearly no one even all the way up to the Matrix Resurrections but the Oracle understood by design, which is the fact that everyone & all is "one" (MAN AND MACHINE INCLUDED). Everyone is the one when it comes to something (&) anyone can be THE ONE if they believe, embrace and walk the path like Neo did because of the ones who came before him & made it possible for him to be "The One" of that particular Iteration. The Oracle really knew what she was doing regardless of motives and it was all obviously for a reason hence why it worked. Hell, if you really pay attention to the end of the Matrix Resurrections technically everything that she said in the prophecy came true lol, every single bit of it. It just wasn't quite the way that people expected, but ironically that's how prophecy usually always goes. Truth be told there's actually no more story to tell other than filler in between the gaps which would make really great spinoffs etc. unless they however wanna go in a totally different direction in the Matrix Universe away from the whole concept of "The One" altogether or rather eventually emanate that very same power & lore to a completely different set of characters. In fact I bet that's exactly what they'll do within five years or so 😂. Again as the writers more than likely orchestrated by design. The Wachowskies are f****** brilliant.

The machines started the belief that the One was a messiah meant to herald the end of the Matrix and the freedom of humanity. Neo's sacrifice, and all that came from it, made that belief true. He helped the continuation of humans in the real world, leading to Io and the cooperation of man and machine. And for that he was rewarded new life with Trinity, who had also sacrificed herself for the betterment of the world.

This explanation would make more sense if they had stayed with the original concept of the machines using the brains of humans for processing power. More all that had hope to escape and rejected the program are the anomaly, the Architect say it self, it funny when you finally reach to the conclusion that the fans are arguing over the last twenty years, to then throw it to the window and put it in a single individual, the Wachoswski believed in the valour of community over a single person, but it seems that society brainwashed us to believe that incredible things can be archive by a single person, without the help of others, what is a lie, also, the machines want Neo because the source code that he carries, not because he generate more energy, the Analyst is speaking about the whole humanity, he allow then to believe whatever they want to believe, if serves the status quo, and he also speaking of the cycle if yearning and exploitation that we all live in this current decaying system.

The choice between red pill and blue pill creates hope in the simulation, and Neo is the embodiment of that hope, resetting the cycle every one hundred years. Not very hopeful after all. In the newest reiteration, Matrix Resurrections, the shift in philosophical allegory once again aligns with our modern philosophical concerns. Love is The One. syste”M F”ailure is the first clue. Male, Female. Love is incalculable and irrational and the Architect cannot equate it into a Matrix program. The integral anomaly. Trinity loves Neo. The Oracle told Trinity she’d love the One, but their love is the One. That’s why they rose together in the elevator to serve the people. That’s why Trinity is equal to Neo at the end of Resurrections. Smith is hate. Hate infects and spreads. They are each other’s opposites.

I’m binging these and the word “integral” is standing out. I would think “inherit anomaly” would be the more precise term. I know they use integral in the film. Doesn’t “integral” imply the anomaly is critical to the system and therefore, destroying it would be catastrophic??? Whereas “inherit” simply describes the presence of said anomaly, not its “integral” nature to the system? If the existence of the anomaly is a remainder, it’s not necessarily “inherit” unless we are acknowledging that perfection is not attainable which creates other problems. Just because it’s “inherit” doesn’t imply it can’t be solved whereas “integral” implies it can’t function without it. I think I’m forgetting stuff from 4 in this posit but still, Just curious lololol

You're making a whole mess. The anomaly is people not accepting the simulation. When the counter of people that are populating Zion reach a certain "remainder" the machines activate the code inside Neo, that is BUILT by machines to reload the system, infiltrate and locate the exact position of Zion to let the machines destroy it allowing the next restart of the Matrix. When the code of Neo is enabled the system starts to crash because it locates a conflict with the code of Neo (the systemic anomaly aka built by machines) and the code of the Architect. The Oracle started the revolution, trying to hope herself on Neo, and trying to build a real saviour for both machines and humanity. A risky task. Then believe what you want.
