Short, concise and to the point. This is exactly what I was looking for in a Screen X review, great job. Was debating on seeing Spiderman NWH for a second time on Screen X but may go back to IMAX or even the VIP theatre.

Appreciate the honest review. Never been to a Screen X feature. All the negatives you suggest are exactly the concerns I had; the joins in-between the screens, the blackened screens when there is nothing to show. Grateful for the heads up.

If you see "Top Gun: Maverick" in ScreenX, let us know. It has the most ScreenX footage out of any release (a little less than half), comprised of the footage they got from the six cameras in each cockpit for the aerial sequences. Now that I've seen it in IMAX, I'm considering ScreenX as another means of immersively experiencing it (along with Dolby).

Good video. First thing I noticed while watching a youtube trailer on screen x was those the splits between the screen. Looked very distracting.

I just tried ScreenX and I'll be sticking with IMAX and AVX. Unfortunately, all your points about ScreenX are valid. Wish I had seen your vid last week --- I could have saved some money.

I have autism and I was wondering how this may be for me, it sounds like it'd be a really bad choice for me, especially since the two spaces you mention would distract me too much, and I would like to enjoy Venom rather than rage at two random spaces distracting me lol.

I saw Spider-Man: No Way Home in ScreenX (having already seen the film in IMAX). First time seeing a film in the ScreenX format. I wouldn’t recommend seeing a film in ScreenX for the first time as I suspect there’s a lot of cropping of the image in order to extend it across the side walls. I don’t think it would be a good first experience of a film, but for a second viewing it’s not bad. My main issue was that the side images are literally projected onto the walls, even on the exit signage! (I don’t know if that’s the same everywhere.) There’s also a small gap between the main screen and the side walls where there’s no image. I didn’t notice any lag between the three screen; I felt the picture transitioned between the screens quite well. It is an issue that the side images are only present for certain scenes, mostly moments of action. I can understand that the side projections have less of a purpose for scenes without action, but constantly turning off the side projections can be distracting. I don’t think most studios/filmmakers would spend time and money creating content specifically for ScreenX side projections, so maybe the format would be better suited for films that have simpler and consistent background environments, like Gravity (space) or Dunkirk (sky), which can more easily be extended. Or perhaps animated films where it’s probably easier to produce dedicated background environments. My ranking of the formats: 1. IMAX 2. SuperScreen 3. Regular screens 4. ScreenX 5. 4DX

What we really need is a theater that uses a curved screen that's 270 degrees. Would certainly make ScreenX obsolete.

Best new theater experience is the DBoX seats although they are pricey, it's the best new movie experience worth its admission. You're basically on a roller coaster ride in a theater and the sound is very punchy and you can feel it. Movies like Rush and Mad Max used it great. I still haven't done 4D, maybe this summer though.

Older theaters use to do curved screens and I feel like I prefer that over these ScreenX theaters.

Only thing I don't like is the seat is stadium seat. That's not so comfy. I tried IMAX, Screen X at the end I would stick with Dolby Atmos theater. It has great sound and reclining seat. Screen X is just once a while good experience.

Top Gun: Maverick looked great in ScreenX. For the best viewing experience, select a seat in the back row.

From some trailers I've seen on YT, I won't be rushing to X anytime soon. Agreed, IMAX anytime.

ScreenX looks awful. I can't even stand a black dot in the screen, and that's like folding a screen in 3 half with two folding lines in midst of screen. That's a nightmare for me. Who made such stupid and distracting designs ?! 🤦🏻‍♂️

How much did a screen x ticket cost you? Where I live a normal screen ticket costs about $11, a screen x ticket costs $18 and an iMax ticket is an extra $2.
