What I understood is, to have a decent living in Bangalore, a couple with a kid has to have a total monthly income of more than 2 lakh a month 😰

No its not, she is living a upper middle class life, normal family can easily live on 60K per month if you are just starting out.

Di, I'm in Bangalore too and an IT professional here. The weather is probably the best I've seen. Even my friends who stay in the US and other countries tell me it's either too cold or sweaty in those cities or countries, but Bangalore strikes the right balance. I'm loving it here and will probably think of settling here too if I get a good locality.

Exactly I have refused many offers for Banglore because of this reason only.....may I know that if food and accommodation is taken care by the company so how much amount is sufficient for a couple with small baby? (Single earners) eg if salary offered is between 50-55k

That would depend a lot on your lifestyle . If accommodation and food is paid by employer (I don't know if any employer gets into that kind of commitment at all) then 20-25 k extra would be enough. So even if you earn 50-60 k, you will be able to make it.

Hi mam... I'm getting an offer of around 50k... I'm single... I'll be getting a 2 bhk family accommodation (which I don't actually need) which will be taken care of by the management... Food is also free.. Only the dinner & on holidays I've to manage... I'm getting appointed as TGT Mathematics at Jain International Residential School... However as construction is going on in the campus.. Our apartments will be at half an hour distance from the school... Transportation is also free... So is it a good enough offer to come to Bangalore... Also our Apartments will again be at half an hour distance from the main city...

I am here in bangalore from 1996 december.. In front of my eyes this normal small city became a hifi city.. We took flat and land at so cheap rate just in 2001/2002.. and now it become so costly that we can't compare the living standard before 20years in bangalore and now just hell and heaven difference... Sometimes me along with my bengali friends who are here from that time we remember the time when we decided to settle here.. That time we use to miss kolkata but now bangalore become cosmopoliton as well as very costly... Like ur review.. Good luck❤️

If only one individual is earning in family. And he has avarage earning but wife is not a working person. So is it good to decide to live in Bengaluru.

If one individual earns 40 lakh and the wife doesn't earn, then they are good. Again, my electrician is also a single earner. Wife doesn't work . Has two children. Earns 25- 30 k a month. He is also surviving. One has to survive as per one's means. Simple.

The entire Bangalore is very safe to live. I've been living here since 5 years now and not a single person made me uncomfortable with his looks. I like this city very much.

try to take rent in an area near to your husband's office.. traffic is dangerous in Bangalore.. if you take apartment far away, you may waste 3-4 hours everyday in travel.. somedays even more.. Varthur, belendur are good places in the outskirts.. but you should chk how far these places are from your husband's office

If you don't speak the local language of a city you don't belong to that city . You are always considered as an outsider. Be a Roman in Rome.

Can u point out exactly where in the constitution of india is it written that one has to know the regional language to be in that city? By the way I can speak bangla. Do I belong to Bangladesg then? "an insider" in Dhaka, as per your unfounded "logic"? I speak English pretty well too. Guess that makes me a valid resident of London? Isn't that right?

Constitution doesn't tell you to not respect the local culture and language. If I had gone to settle down in Kolkata I would have definitely learnt Bengali . You want to live in a locality where Bengalis live the most and don't want to speak the local language and proud of the city historically owned by somebody else.

I stay near Chikkabanavara Railway Station which is nearest Metro station is T Dasarahalli which is near Peenya Industrail Area. It Cost for 2BHK only Rs. 10,000 per month. Sea Fish is also available here. I am working from home. This Area is Chikkabanavara - Heseraghata Towards Tumkur Road - Nagsandra - Nelamangala. From Chikkabanavara you will get buses towards K R Puram, Yesvantpur, Majestic and Kengeri. Chikkabanavara is last stop for Suburban trains. From here it is easy to catch trains from Yesvantpur junction and go towards North Karnataka like Hubali, Dharward, Hassan, Mangalore, Goa. etc., From here Manyata Tech Park and Peenya Industrail Area is nearest.

The cost of living in your area is way too low as compared to my area in Bangalore. Only the house maid would take ₹4,000 for brooming, mopping and vessels. Also the cook takes atleast ₹5,000 for 2 meals for 2 persons.
