I am an old person. I am 77 years old and I used to be an English teacher. I stopped teaching 4 years ago due to the lack of people interested in taking English classes

Result of the test was unexpected.

Once last year my daughter read the book to the Spitz dog at school 😀 It's considered that it helps shy children to read in English better (we are not English speakers, but my kids study in English, like those children from Hawaii)

Well said! How did learning a language become so meaningless? Here in Spain they are totally exam focused and few students can actually have a real life conversation. I love teaching English but hate the system. I try to get my students to communicate but I know that what they really want is to pass that next exam so they can add it to their CV.

I've been reading all of your comments and I must say your writing is flawless. This tells me that we get to practise writing more as compared to speaking, hence the gulf is visibly big.However, I want I want to believe that if we were to practise speaking more, our English proficiency will know no bounds. I suspected there was something tricky with the test from the very first question. I thought “How come! All the suggested answers were correct”. I’ve been teaching English for nearly 20 years and I’ve come to the same conclusion - test are useless, the only people who are to be tested are the teachers themselves”.

I was going to panic when youve told about the test, but it's all normal, guys, test revealed that he didnt go mad as I thought when I completed it and he is as ever and forever on the road of light and wisdom)

That's exactly the reason why I stopped testing my students long time ago. I go for communication rather than tests. Shame of schools, anyway, trying to teach English in the same old way as 50 years ago with no better luck. Spain is really behind in the way the language is being taught.

uffff. Let's measure the theaches... What a difficult topic. Here, in Chile, the governmet approved a law to make periodical evaluations to the teaches. Inmediatly, all the teachers starts a huge strike all over the country. "We studyed, we are proffesional. We ar not being evaluated" "I already finish my carrer and became teacher, I won't be evaluated" They felt so insulted that the strike obligated the gobernment to suspend the law.

I would like to perform the test but I do not have the means $ to buy a ticket to go to the Canarias

I don't see any focus on tests in my country. That's because they don't teach. And that's because most of them have not more than Upper Intermediate. Maybe, they have already watched your videso and now think that that's enough. And they let children cheat, if there is ever any exam. That's why we don't speak any English, apart from those who have private tutors. So, maybe your ideas are ok for other countries, this is somewhat probable. But in our country there is nothing to test. If a person is afraid of speaking, they don't know any English, either.
