Zyra is one of my favorite champions ever! She was the first one I saved my IP for to buy and practice because her kit and overall design was just stunning! And I'm happy that she is getting the love she deserves! About her story tho, I think her consciousness is embedded in every flora she raises and when her plant body dies, she can regrow a new plant body with proper nourishment to continue her quest for a botanical mayhem. Usually sentient plant like creatures in fantasy can travel through roots or just plain underground travel. there is not really an explanation for it, its just a power archetype.

It sounds like the writers for Zyra's story have a 'Green Thumb', Zyra is the garden and the garden is Zyra, this is mentioned in the beginning of the lore. Sounds like the essences of the sorceress was absorbed into the garden of Zyr and they (as a whole) became one. The best part is the flower sounds like a member of the Tulip or Rose Family, which is probably why roses where mentioned in the store, little details add to the big picture. I love this story already.

Zyra is one of the best examples of a not explored character. Her motives is clear: she doenst care about dominium, or War, she is not a fighter or a Knight, she is a expression of the Wild Nature itself, while Demacia is fighting agaisnt Mage, Noxus is fighting to take control of all Runeterra's political sources and armies, Shurima is fighting agains the Void....Zyra is not figghting, she is just growing. She doesnt care about Humans, for her everything that hurts nature must perished by nature itself. I think she has emotions, she wouldt hurt Xayah or Rakan, Neeko or even Nidalee if she sees them, she would see them as Equals, cause they are not humans they are magic-expressions like her. Other thing, Zyra doenst kill the ones that she judges good for nature, she offers the chance for them to join nature. Maybe the plants she grow are thoose peoples she turn .

Plants can have massive networks of roots. Assume Zyra can bloom and be connected from where ever her buds and roots are planted.

My thoughts, Zyra herself is a single being whom absorbed so much fallen magic that she was able to rebirth herself into the body of the fallen sorceress (kinda like her old lore used to be). I imagine Zyra technically isn't fully female seeing as most plants are hermaphrodites and she is able to spawn her own plants and flowers from seeds alone. So those plants she spawns are just extensions of her own self and I imagine she can't grow herself a whole new human body and become two but rather has the ability to transfer herself from plant to plant.

I’ve always seen Zyra as a hivemind rather than just one entity. I believe that she was able to travel through the bud that grew. That’s just my theory though.

Zyra could sprout the bud near a house or marketplace in order to be found, which she then travels else where and spread more buds only to come back to the first bud and follow the path that is had been taken from to then get sustenance

When I'm looking at this I look at something similar to the relationship between the zerg and kerrigan in starcraft 2 (probably the origin of the inspiration). In that story the "essence" (something a mix between genetic code and a soul) of Sarah Kerrigan is saved within the swarm and when killed, even when she was in a more human state, she would be reconstructed using resources from the nearest hive cluster. It is likely that this relationship of sentient individual and magical grove are linked in that all of the plants that are grown are linked to her, likely in a magical fashion, so it can regrow or perhaps even duplicate her if necessary. It is even possible that the entire growth is linked to her mental control and she is simply aware of each abomination and capable of consciously controlling them or "plantiporting" to them if she decides she needs to.

Maybe zyra is more like an overmind, and the woman is more of an incarnation of that mind. Zyra is a single entity represented in all of her flowers.

This bio gives ideas for a good gameplay update. Riot need to revisit her kit with the bio in mind.

Maybe Zyra is a "Parasitic Plant". They're known to kill their prey and become host, growing inside them and controlling their body as their own. Maybe Zyra isn't the humanoid, but a warped human version with the plant controlling it. If that's the case, then "Zyra" can have many forms, as long as it's able to have bodies to become host to.

I agree with the hive mind theory. Hatilly started having "memories" that were not hers. maybe Zyra is like some plants (cacti and magueys) that make clones of herself or more "individual plants" that are the same individual (same DNA). everytime she eats a person, they join the same individual.

Well before they reworked her, her passive turned her into a huge blossom when she died. She could then shoot one projectile afterwards to try and finish off anyone else. So it’d make sense that she’s turn back into a pod whenever she ran out of sustenance

What I'm thinking is that the vines already went through her skin so the zyra she sees could just be an illusion of the plants source

I think Zyra growing out of a flower is a reference to her old passive which allowed her to grow into a giant flower after getting slain in battle, they could use that gain in a future visual update since her model looks really tall in the game after getting the new walk animation

Well the bud did hold on to a piece of bone and zyra appeared when consuming the guy. So the bud probably consumed whoever the bone belonged to, spawned a zyra and then went idle waiting for a new prey. I don't think this is the only bud since her bio mentions that shes pretty unstoppable, so her being in need of this one particular body is very unlikely. Making this one spawn the one who was thankful. So zyra may be able to create clones of herself, maybe they only last for a set time or shes building a army. It makes no sense that she could teleport since the root system could not have connected to a zyra "network" since it had not spread very far. Instead I think the plant was acting on it's own as a seed. That would also make a lot of sense since she still has the quote "this body is just one of many" which I believe is still relevant.

New Zyra passive based on the implications of this story: She stores kills from her pet-plants to shorten her death timer and boost her HP and Mana recovery by a set amount while alive, all stacks are consumed on death. Only a certain number of kills can be stored and the size of the boost is based on the quality of the kills; minions and small monsters are worth a small amount of a boost per kill, large monsters, champions and super minions are worth more, and Dragons, Rift Herald and Baron are worth the most. I know this wouldn't really fit into her "support" role in-game, but I'm only trying to adapt the lore into a cool game mechanic.

So Zyra is basically " The Poison Ivy" Of League of Legends. For those who don't know who I'm talking about, In the D.C. Universe/ D.C. comics, Batman has a female villain called "Poison Ivy" who's basically a plant lady and can control and command all plants, flowers, and so on that she comes into contact with and she even has red hair just like Zyra does lol.

Her last passive was she turning to a dutt right when she dies (before her rework)...

maybe that was zyras passive, i'm thinking maybe when she dies she turn into a seed that will turn into that flower the woman bought and when it comes into contact with a life source (humans, animals, ect.) the bud sprouts giving birth to zyra once more just like how normal plants work.

My guess is that Hatilly seeing zyra is a hallucination, part of the images of plant covered cities. The plants clearly have some hallucinogenic properties, causing Hatilly to not feel the thorns in her leg and all the other stuff, so my guess is hallucination.

We could think back to Zyra's old passive where she would turn into a bud-like plant when she dies in-game (runs out of sustenance perhaps?). Seems to me to be similar to what's going on.

I've been noticing a few comments saying there's more than one Zyra, and that it's a hive mind. So heres a thought, there is only one Zyra, and the plant growth is (for the most part) all just one organism, this would explain why the new growth simply keeps re growing, and when a bud is removed it uses it's scent to lure in pray well it's new body begins spreading. (Hyper speculation time) I highly suspect that the "new" Zyra will likely travel to the origonal plant to join to it and become one organism again, leaving a trail of plants in it's wake.

What about Zyra's appearance in that one short story "On the edge of the world" (or something similar, I've forgotten), where a noxian fleet slowly gets entangled and killed by plants in the Jumungu Jungles, and their bodies turn into spore carrying vessels that spread strange plants?

I'm in line with those who say there's more then one or clones, etc. But here's my take on it. The qualities of a fungus. Fungi are more animal then plant but given that zyra is some perfect culmination of both plant and animal/human, it's possible that all of her plants are still connected to her in some way like a fungus does. A SINGLE instance of a fungus can stretch for miles and link back to one source. Case in point the trail of plants along the river. The source of nutrients would act as a "spore pod" to create another instance of Zyra to find more food and optimal places to grow and spread. Similar to a hive mind but it's just one move spread out in such a vast way.

I believe Zyra to be a hive-mind which can spawn avatars at will wherever the plants are. This is btw one hell of a scary thing and one seriously horrible way to die... I'd honestly prefer Vel' Koz's disintegration ray.

how some plants reproduce is they spread little vines, or roots or whatever its called in english, then out of that grows a whole new plant. Like it was mentioned in the video zyra is supposed to be a race, usually plants have names like petunias, roses, oaks ect. nobody gives names to their plants(well some might) so it wouldn't be strange to call it single name since it is a plant, self-aware, but still a plant.

theory here : maybe Zyra will get a rework. perhaps she can plant seeds and emerge from one of them to move unpredictably. so you can turn your seeds not only into minions like zero can now but also to move yourself. maybe she even gets a passive like anivia where she turns into such seeds and can be reborn. Or she permanently plants these seeds making it harder for the enemy to move over time

The original story described her true initial form as a root system. This made her immortal, in a sense. In the original story though she was starving and threw her essence into a wandering potential meal, realizing eating it only bought time til inevitable demise, and instead infested the mage. If they didn't change too much, then that body isn't her 'body'; it's like a limb or a digit. Her body is the roots of the plants travelling over the land. It regrowing when cut and burned away is like a scratch mending on your body.

Could be her old passive, as she's dying from lack of nutrients in the dessert and take a flower bud form, just to grow at full form when feed (sorry for the bad english :S)

I think that Zyra is a being and the humanoid creatures are her followers/servers. In the end we see Hatilly become one with the plants, which means they are spreading like a disease. This also makes sense because in this case, there are already many followers inside Shurima, and if Zyra only one human, it doesn't make sense that she's simply progressing "one by one", It's way too slow. Unless It's happening at dozens/hundreds of places at a time, which would happen according to my theory.

If Zyra is a species its possible there are others that bloom from the buds. If that were the case I would like to see different *forms* of Zyra, like a Zyra that looks like a sapphire rose or a dragon lily. That would be really cool!

I remember the old story when i read it zyra was one fit from death plant and the witch was her last meal and after she eat her she was reborn with a younger body and the memories of the witch and she used the memories to find and kill every human she find and turn them in to plants
