What is the best Sonic game ever made? A loaded question, to be sure. If you ask it, you're bound to get a different answer from every person. The series has been around for so long and has seen so much change over the years that it attracts an unbelievable amount of preferences and opinions. Born in the 1990s as an answer to Mario's dominance, Sonic was a big deal, especially after he was revitalized with the release of Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast in 1998. However, soon after that, things would begin to sour once again, as the creators of the world's then-most successful console, the Playstation, announced its immediate follow-up. Sega had to act, and fast.
In comes another game, which for many people, would end up being the answer to the question of best Sonic game. Sonic Adventure 2, the sequel to end all sequels. At first, it didn't sell all too well because the Dreamcast was beyond saving, making it the swansong of the console, but it would experience a lot of success when it was ported to the then-new Nintendo Gamecube. For many, it was the end of an era, and for others, it introduced them to this series, its world, its characters, and then some.
That being said, while it was seemingly beloved at the time, something went wrong along the way in the years that followed, and many would begin to question its legacy. It, like SA1, would see a massive paradigm shift, and it would go on to become a divisive topic, except even more so. Much like the game's theming itself, opinions on it are split into a perfect duality of strong love and strong hatred. So, where do I sit on this matter? Well, I think the title and length of the video should answer that question quite well. In fact, when asked the question of what my favorite Sonic game is, this one is the only answer I can give. Sit back, get something to munch on, this is gonna be a long one. Most of all though, I hope you enjoy.

If you've read this far in, I'd seriously like to thank you for watching. This one took a lot out of me, but it was well worth it to make a video on this game I can be proud of. Still though, I'm gonna make an effort not to make these so long in the future. Or maybe I'll forget about this and produce a five-hour behemoth or something. Who knows.
