as someone who loves building and decoration, i’m absolutely voting for the sniffer. plants are such a great way to add to builds and i adore adding lush gardens and creative plants around builds. I know a lot of people focus on mechanics when i comes to the mob votes, which i personally feel can alienate more casual play-styles

honestly sniffer is one of the better mobs not only sniffer gives ocean structures new use but also adds new plant

I really like the exploring aspect of Minecraft and finding an ancient unknown plant that can only be found my an ancient mob who is supposedly extinct makes me really interested as to what the new items would be so even though the rascal seems kind of helpful.. the sniffer has got my vote

Something to be mindful of for each of these: The sniffer's plants are only decorational, according to its reveal video's description. The rascal becomes basically useless in the late game, since no possible, balanced reward could compete with full diamond, enchanted gear, let alone netherite. And there has been no indication of the tuff golem's behavior being controllable, so it would just start wandering about at random, but at least it would return to its original spot once it's done wandering (if the pathfinding is good enough to do that reliably).

I think it would be REALLY cool if the Rascal could give (with a low chance granted) pickaxes that have currently unobtainable enchant levels, like Fortune IV or Unbreaking V

Here's the problem with these mobs. I still have multiple questions about both the Rascal and Tuff Golem after watching the video and reading the article, while all my questions for the Sniffer were answered in the video alone. I think it's similar to why the vultures weren't voted into the game in that they don't explain enough about the mobs for us to want to choose them. My vote is on the Sniffer, but maybe it'll change if they reveal more information about the other two

Yeah. The Sniffer really does seem to be the most unique mob, not just in functionality, but also in design. As far as I remember, I don't think Minecraft has a friendly mob that just camouflages in with the grass. And who knows. Since their shape seems similar to the Shivery Boi's in the Nether, we might be able to ride them, too.

I think if the rascal came with new enchantments like one or two, that were really good or could help like auto smelting or’s or vein mines, and you can only get it from the rascal that would help it’s case. And they didn’t say anything about the tuff golem. It’s basically the copper golem with buttons, except it picks up items instead of press buttons randomly.

What i would be worried about for the rascal is that people will start making artificial mineshafts and will farm the unique items, making it so much less fun

I'm team sniffer tbh I genuinely like their concept of finding new ancient plants and also love their models overall so they got my vote too

I think the sniffer can anticipate that promised fossil update we've been waiting for, as both have this ancient theme. So I think there could even be a link between these new plants and the fossil mining regions. I believe they are linked in some way.

Tbh, I'm with you on this one. If we knew more about what the Rascal could give, I'd like it more, but I'm on team Sniffer

Actually tuff golem in my opinion is like a item frame but in a 3d mode. Like where tuff hold the item you want to display... More like an exhibition of your journey.. a collection of your items.. tuff golem will only pick up items if it doesn't hold any and get back to it's position. Tuff golem won't move until it holds any item that it displays on it's hand while holding a pillow. Pillow also can be customize depending on the dyed wool you applied.

I dont get why they just dont add them all and then also add all the previous ones. I just want my yellow cow. Also Sniffer and Rascal should both be in it.

Currently leaning towards either the Tuff Golem or the Sniffer. I'm not sure what constitutes an ancient creature in Minecraft, but given the fossils we can find, I really want to see how these things work. The Tuff Golem however is so far my favorite aesthetically, and I've always wanted more golems in the game, and I'm still a bit upset that the Copper Golem didn't win last time.

As someone who regrets voting for the ally (copper golem was the clear choice) I’m voting for the sniffer this time round. All the other ones don’t really seem to appealing to me besides the rascal because if the “don’t worry it totally won’t lead you to a warden den” is a lie then it’s a little bit of a toss up. But I think I want a massive moss covered puppy dog instead XD

The thing with Sniffer is that it also opens a lot more for lore. Since its an ancient being, maybe it has some connection to the Deep Dark and the portal there. Maybe the Deep Dark was actually the surface along with where the Sniffer was, but catastrophe happens and its no underground, and the Sniffers drowned in the ocean. A lot of possibilities with just one mob

I feel like the Sniffer has the most depth out of the three and the best flavour, although I think the Rascal and Tuff Golem have great potential as well. I wonder if there could be a way to make Rascal farms and get free items by just starring at them.

100% voting for the sniffer, it's adorable, and comes with (a) new plant(s), sounds like you find an egg underwater and underwater is one of my favourite places to be tbh And if they release a plushie of it then I'm getting it In my heart it's perfect As much as I like the concept of the rascal, as an underground mob that's mischievous and lets you play something of a minigame trying to find it, plus a gift, it's kinda just... Useless? It's cool and kinda cute, always nice to have a friend in the spooky caves, the gift could be useful early on it becomes obsolete later on... And as you said Captain, the gifts will probably be lower tier, it has no way to become of use if you've been mining already, some people get diamonds super early so they'll just be ignoring it and discarding whatever it gives you, unless the more you find it the better items you receive... And tuff golem is cute but I prefer copper golem, and I miss him, it would've made a better decoration and potential companion, while tuff golem could maybe have its own use it's basically just a moving item frame or a disobedient allay I guess. Cute but... Not useful really At least those are my thoughts and feelings on this mob vote, I'll be sad if the sniffer doesn't win but I can't blame anyone for wanting one of the others

i want the sniffer its cute plus gives us new plants to decorate with or maybe even useful plants! the problem with the rascal is that itll be super annoying to find unless it makes noise and the tuff golem would be so much better if we could tell it where to go making it an item transporter but so far it just grabs an item and wanders off with it

I'm also voting for the Sniffer. I really wish the Rascal could also be in the game, but I feel like the Sniffer is adding the most. Also the Tuff Golem just seems very disruptive, it can pick up items it wasn't already holding, and as seen in the video, it doesn't care what boundaries you have, it can just leave your house, with your item, so it seems more like a nuisance then any actual help, the only good thing it has going for it is being a use for tuff, but I don't think that's worth it considering it seems like a risky mob to have even remotely close to your house. Maybe you could do something neat with them though by setting one up near a Warden and seeing if it'll chase the Tuff Golem instead, or bombarding someone's house in PVP. But all those uses are weird and kinda scummy, so I'd honestly rather it not be added. (Edit, I've been made aware by [Mafoo] in the comments that the page mentions the Tuff Golem will return to it's origin point, so it running away entirely isn't a concern. But I'm still worried about the thing leaving it's area, as if you leave anything valuable with it it could get killed and potentially drop it in a hazardous location. And if it's not holding something of any value, then why bother, there are other options already in the game for display, I don't think having your potted plant {which I doubt it can even hold} has any value aside from potentially being funny, which isn't a valid reason for something to be added to the game considering the other options have clear well defined helpful functions.)

Without knowing what any of them do I was 100% for sniffer based off of looks. But after learning about them, I am even more for it now. I really love the design and I like that it will bring new plants! I really hope that if it brings new plants that it will also possibly bring a new food source. Not that we don't already have a bunch of plant foods, but it could be fun! Would also mean new recipes and such. I like that it also gives players more of a reason to go explore underwater. I know quite a few people who don't like to do so but may be willing to if this cutie is there!

As much as I like them all, the Sniffer is my clear choice…new plants is the best thing the mobs offer. Alternatives? A mobile item frame that is likely uncontrolled, like a lesser Allay? A mob that actively hides and gives items that r easier crafted/forged? Just saying…. Edit: Though, if it was clear that the loot table gives enchants not normally obtainable (+1 to normal enchant max or something), that would make it a great competitor to the sniffer.

Idk how people can’t go for the rascal, firstly the name is just perfect, secondly the hide-and-sneak feature it has is so novel and new for minecraft. It would be very helpful too, maybe people could find a way to turn it into a type of mob grinder for good tools.

Super useful for builders/architects that want to build Something new for bases, structures or parks/gardens. More stuff to build and decorate with. -these plants may even bring special use for some Redstone builds when the shape of the plant or emitted light level fits for a build. - The Sniffer adds new functionality for the ocean ruins = you have to find it's egg and also hatch it. -It can be used as a infinity bone meal farm(it digs up infinity seeds that get send trough hoppers into composters = infinity bone meal farm - Its super tall, it would be the tallest passive mob in the whole game and has a unique and creative design that fits perfectly for Minecraft. It has multiple growth stages(egg->baby->adult) and probably can even be breed? (Like a normal mob / keep it like a pet) These are all the things THAT ARE confirmed so far and many more things probably come in the future with this mob. That's why it has the most potential so far and most usefulness. Also yeah, there won't be food(unless you get meat from the Sniffer) from the plant(no crops) or other conspiracies. They are made up by people.. but look again at all the things I said earlier. That's why it's the nost useful one so far... Hell.. it might be even the most useful mob ever released in all mob votes so far if it wins. I am Team Sniffer 🦕

For me, I would pick the Sniffer. the issue with the Gremlin one I have is I think its pointless, and the Tuff Golem I think once again is pointless. Plus it adds more plants and more things in the water. - w-

i feel like the rascal seems like it's only good for early game which is great. the sniffer sounds like an amazing option for new decorations. the tuff golem assuming it works with redstone could be a great way to automate stuff otherwise an interesting piece to have in your base.

The Sniffer just has so much to it. The other mobs are very very creative in their own way, and I like them both. With the sniffer though we just get a bunch of cool stuff :D.

For clarification for people, when it says the vote starts on the 14th, it means that the vote will be going over a 24 hour period rather then starting live and happening over a short period of time. I think this is a smart thing to do in addition to the vote being moved from twitter to the launcher, because of a few reasons. First, it means that those who would normally vote while at work or at school can still vote since they won’t have access to their minecraft launcher usually until they get home. Secondly, it reduces the chance for bots and people who don’t own minecraft to skew the votes in favour of a what content creator they watch wants it to be or what a meme choice happens to be if one starts. And finally, it also give people who are to young and/or don’t have twitter yet still own minecraft a chance to vote for what they want. Depending on how the ui looks as well, it could actually make the announcement of the winner segment of the livestream necessary as they might hide how many people voted for each mob. So all round a smart choice. But back to what I initially started this comment, voting starts on the 14th EDT and the announcement of the winner and the minecraft live event is the 15th.

I wish the tuff golem was more useful(It’s already more useful than the glow squid though)…sniffer it is.

Tuff golem could activate when having nothing in it's inventory, then when an item is dropped it picks up the item and follows the player until the player decides to set it down. Kind of like seating a parrot or dog.

I know that you’ve probably seen these types of comments before and “nobody asked” but honestly I’m going through a really stressful and bad state in my life right now but you and other you tubers really help me unwind and feel like I’m in a happy place. I think the Rascal would be the best if it gave you something that is difficult to get in the game like a mending pickaxe. The only problem with that is that if I came across it in the mines I would probably kill it because I thought it was a creeper (or Herobrine). But, the community will probably vote for Sniffer because it is the cutest. Also, I thought those were eyes too until you pointed out that it was the nose.

The golem had the potential to pick and place items, improving farms immensely. The rascal had the potential to reward players by hiding near dungeons and ores, which are now more common. With those sadly not the case, it looks to be sniffer time!

If the rascal gives your despawned items back from the last time you died... then it is a 100% vote

I really hope the sniffer is chosen so we can finally have an agriculture update. My only complaint is how difficult it will be to get it. Will the plants be worth the trouble of raiding an Ocean Monument just to get some new plants and a special dog?

Im definitely going with the sniffer, i love exploring, building and decorating in minecraft so they seem like litterally the perfect mob for mesince they can only be found in chests and they are confirmed to bring new plants to the game! The others are cool but for me the sniffer just has more use, though i wont be upset if a different mob wins!

Breakdown. Sniffer: Cute. Only exist when you hatch them. Adds Decorative Plants. Adds use to Ocean Ruins. Small chance of being a potential Food Source. Rascal: Might be fun or annoying depending on implementation. Might have useful items but is RNG. Adds life to the lower levels. Tuff Golem: Basically an item pedestal that moves sometimes. You can craft them so you don't need to find them. You can dye them colors. Might not work in every build.

Yessss we have the same list order...I love exploring under. Water ruins and love having gardens......I like the idea of enchanted picks early on but can also get. Those from ruined portal chests.......the stone golems I want eventually though just like little butlers around the home 😂 what would be really cool if they have a hold capacity and could like load up coal into furnaces or similar tasks

I just want to add my thoughts on the new mobs, in the order I would vote for them, 1.Sniffer- This one I feel like is the one most everyone seems to like, most likely because its the one that all a round sounds the most intriguing and looks adorable, so I want say to much on this one. 2.Tuff Golem- This one seems very kool/fun for me and I love golems and just want more in the game, but with that said they dont seem like they would serve much of a purpose specially if all the do is just carry/displays items around randomly, we have plenty of other things to do that (Like allays, armor stands, item frames) so just that alone is very meh to me, the only fix for that, that would make them be on the same level as the sniffer for me would be is they had some sort of controllable pathing, there is so much that could be done with that especially if than can carry whole stacks at a time. 3.Rascal- This one is by fair the most underwhelming mob up to vote in my opinion (and from what I've seen most would likely agree), With this one I only have concerns, How often would they spawn?, How hard would they be to find, then re-find?, What would be the loot-table?. Honestly in my opinion without some kind of amazing loot drop chance (As Captain Sparkly mentions), this seems like something that 'might' be somewhat useful for early game then ignored and forgotten late game, because it isnt very aesthetically pleasing and has little room for growth utility wise.

I like all of them but mostly the Sniffer and Tuff Golem, I'm voting Tuff Golem but I won't be disappointed in the others (I will be disappointed if the Tuff Golem (or any of the others) are never added though). also the Tuff Golem could be nice for builds, whether they stay still as a statue or move around. we have item frames and armor stands, but no pedestals nor any moving item displays (I guess the Allay can work as one but eh the way the golem does it seems nicer).

Me and my friend were talking about how it would be cool if the sniffer could get big enough to be able to place blocks on its back and have a lil portable base!

Pros of Sniffer: Dinosaur Dog Plant creature. It's a friggin Pokemon and I love it. I will build them a whole island. Pros of the Rascal: Minecraft's version of a Goblin or Kobold, introducing new intelligent species is huge for the LOOORE. I wanna built them a city. Pros of the Tuff Golem: its a statue that... moves around? There aren't even normal statues in minecraft though... I'm sorry I don't see much pros with this.

The Rascal: They Either give the Rascal: Rarity drops like Reminence of Netherite (low change drop) A Fortune Pickaxe IV or V Efficiënt VI's maybe a lot of ore's... other then that I don't see a point in adding it... they could however make a citie of Rascal Named "Rascal City" it's underground and if you follow the Rascal after playing the game Hide and Seek he will go towards the city? Tuff Golem: Well you have to build it.... they either give it a redstone mechanic when it comes to live and then walk towards the item display like you can set them up for pathways.. and can either choose to give it like when it holds an item it gives a redstone signal or you could turn that off by either left clicking on it with an redstone in your hand and maybe even redstone repeaters/torches if not well god help him cause he ain't on my list. The Sniffer: same thing maybe different colour variations? but so far so good for me my vote goes to that lil fella (lore wise it fits more)

I feel you on the eye/snout thing with the Sniffer. Not only did I think the black dots were eyes, I thought they were turtles since they come from eggs underwater and..seem to have shells on their back. Didn't really notice the big ears. Anyhow, to put it bluntly the Tuff Golem just feels way too boring. I think you laid it out pretty well. Between Sniffer and Rascal, well.. If they implement new, useful crafting stuff to go with the new plants, then I'd probably vote for it. Otherwise, I'll be voting for the Rascal. I like the idea of the hide and seek thing breaking up the tedium of endless digging, and who knows what they'll give you. Could be the long lost shoe Steve left in the mines one day or maybe it'll be a sweet enchantment book.

Imma be with you captain Sparklez, I always wanted a plant update or a update for farming because the last new update to farming whatsoever was the beetroot, the most useless plant im all of Minecraft in my opinion and it was in 2015 so being able to get new plants sounds so amazing for me, also the sniffer is so cute looking and having to find them in egg form and having to hatch them and letting them grow huge and giant makes me feel like I'd get so attached to them! 💜💙💜💙

The sniffer is definitely the strongest choice here design and feature wise. This mob also fits well with the eventual addition of archeology. Very similar themes. I still miss the copper golem. I wish the blaze king and iceolliger won the last two votes.

If they can return and park on Pressure Plate they could serve nicely on open aesthetic Structures. I'd like to use them on Datapack structure builds.

I feel like Glow Squids should get an upgrade to be a Swarm of them, then when going underwater you see the sea light up would actually be cool. instead, you get the "Rare' mob that I didn't sign up for. Which on that note, I feel like the Rascal is the lowest on my tier list this year because it may end up being 'rare'

I would definitely like to know more about what the plants are that the sniffer digs up, and I think the sniffer is really cute. Especially the large one, I can imagine a ravager-sized friendly creature being a great addition to the game. The rascal is pretty cool because abandoned mineshafts don’t have much going for them except for a few poisonous spider spawners. Plus getting an enchanted pickaxe for finding it is a pretty cool mechanic. Not a huge fan of its design though (maybe that’s why it’s trying to hide from you) I’m not a big fan of the tuff golem. It feels like an allay but it can’t fly and it falls asleep sometimes. I might vote for the sniffer, because I feel like Minecraft could always use more foiliage. Think about it - all you really have is leaves, flowers, vines, and moss. The plant shown in the video looks a lot more dynamic than the other plants, which is interesting. I would vote for the rascal, but I wish its design would be optimized a bit more (I do like the cloak and chest backpack though)

Team sniffer!!

I'm leaning on the Sniffer but for my overall thoughts, add all three and their functions. Dividing a community has its limits and since minecraft is so popular, adding all three means that it's bringing everyone together. The mob votes would be reused to the highest vote being how rare it will be.

I dont see any people talking about that the Rascal is wearing Sniffer furr(its not moss as the sniffer is born with it) its the exact same color and texture(a lot of people make concept art with difrent colors while they are the same in the videos) And with them being gentle giants(Sniffer) its a good chance they are the creatures the bones are left of as they have similair shape. If the Rascal wears the furr that means its from the same time pre "old builer" times so its a good chance its the oldest posible humanoid. Im gonna vote sniffer since i love lore and its super cute!

I swear, the sniffer is probably just as bad as the glow squid, it does basically nothing if you don’t like plants. The rascal is completely useless if you don’t cave 24 hours a day. But the tuff golem has a purpose, it isn’t very useful but can be good in builds, also, it’s already more than the rest lol. Also, the tuff golem isn’t hard to make, which makes it so much better! Vote the tuff golem!

Tuff Golem is basically a downgraded version of the Allay, The Rascal can give you a prize (example: Enchanted Pickaxe), but if it gets voted in I would prefer an update to mineshafts, they have been going a little bland over the pass few years, Lastly the Sniffer, I’m voting for this one, if there’s new seeds/plants could that mean new crops? I think the agricultural part of Minecraft could use a little more variety to it and some new crops would definitely help with that
