I like how Japanese people appreciated every genre of music. In my country it was quite hard to find people with indie or rock music taste. Basically pop and kind of ballad music was more popular. And yes, classical was something that I say not common.

They are too mainstream and people tend to hate that, especially AKB48 have lots of attack points (otaku and lolicon stigma for example). I predict same thing will happen to Nogizaka46 (乃木坂46) and Keyakizaka46 (欅坂46) 2-3 years later when they are too popular.

What I find a bit fascinating is that bands in Japan never last long for one reason or another. Not that I'm complaining, I love all these bands and Coldrain is probably my favorite band so nice to see them mentioned! and by an older lady at that lol

Its really cool to see that music tastes are so diverse though! I wish i had studied up on my Japanese more when i visited this summer so i couldve talked about music and stuff i like from Japan but maybe next time :P Was expecting a lot more rock fans though at least since it seems like rock is really popular in Japan, whereas here in the US its kinda dead lol

This is my first video of yours that I've seen, It was very enjoyable and I'm now a subscriber. Please forgive me for (like the girl) I thought you may have been of another asian decent or of mixed blood. Being that I'm 33 this year and have had a love for the Otaku/Anime scene since the 90's it's refreshing to see this generation enjoying some of the same bands that have been arounds for a few years. Personally my favorite bands from Japan will forever be X-Japan, Malice Mizer, L arc' en ciel (totally fucked that up...been drinking) the pillows, Utada Hikaru, Ayumi Hamasaki and the list goes on. Hopefully one day I will finally reach the land of my dreams, and when that day comes I will probably not be leaving hahaha.
