No issues with it. Coaches should be able to take some emotion from frustrated players. A good coach will let them vent and then have a chat after they've cooled off. I like how Landeskog handled it

I can't imagine how frustrating it may be to be the top point-getting line in the league, and still be losing games. I'd imagine there's other fuel to this fire, but hopefully whatever Mackinnon was fired up about is resolved in the locker room. The Avalanche definitely need to shake something up, as they are sinking. Perhaps biased, being an avs fan, but I like to see emotion like that. There's passion here, and an obvious desire and expectation to succeed.

Mac is on a 6 game point streak with very little to show as to W/L for his team. You put our offensive line 1 guys on nearly any other team in the league and they would be flying on a winning streak. "The knock on Nathan is there's just a little bit of immaturity still there in terms of sometimes being a little bit over-animated with his thoughts and ideas". -- Says WHO?? I've been a hardcore Colorado Avalanche fan since before MacKinnon's first game and I've NEVER heard that assessment of him, let alone there being a "knock". I HATE when media talking heads just spew nonsense, pretending to know what they're talking about. I'd like to hold that guy's feet to the fire and ask him to furnish any evidence for what he just claimed. Nathan is actually soft-spoken and understated, but with the heart of a competitor. I'm not saying that the open confrontation with Bednar was ideal, but to take it and say what was said about his character gets my blood up.

That line was amazing last night. 22-2 in shots when Mackinnon was on the ice.. Colorado cant grt a save right now. Thats the issue

Except the rest of the league hasn't suppressed that line. They are scoring 2-3 goals every game. Everyone else on the team is just providing zero support out there. Hence the frustration.

Goals in last 5 Avalanche games from anyone other than the top two lines. Vs Calgary, Eric Johnson. Vs. Winnipeg, Carl Soderberg and Ryan Graves, 2 goals of 4. Vs. Rangers, Alexander Kerfoot, Ryan Graves. Vs. Sharks, Tyson Jost 2, Tyson Barrie, Matt Calvert. Vs. Kings Carl Soderberg. Where is the depth problem all of you are speaking of? The Avs problems stem down to poor defensive play and piss poor goaltending.

Colorado right now as a team have 151 goals and the top line makes up for 71 of those goals. 47% of the teams scoring is from one line. Wanna tell me to get my facts again?

Coaches and their egos do more damage than help 90% of the time. If they just set the lines and stfu their teams would do better I have no doubt. They have to influence though or they don't get credit for the wins. Its the easiest job possible but they make it hard. Just change the lines and be quiet.

Is it wrong to yell at anyone for any reason? the right answer is No. tge only person allowed to yell at us is a parent to their child. If an adult person yells at anyone else in any setting, its time for combat.

Yeah If you can't take constructive criticism on the spot without wanting to throw down then you're just an idiot that can't take someone calling you out.

Ben Eberle, well in a job, when tempera flare, its different. Situations are different, the people involved are all different, we don’t know all the dynamics of their relationship. At work no matter what someone yelling at someone else is unacceptable. If it gets to that point its time to leave that job. But with nature being what it is, if two grown men are yelling at each other it can easily lead to a fight.

Nathan needs to show some maturity. Slamming the water bottle down, all of it. The coach is the higher authority here. I don't care who gets paid more. The team will fall apart even more if the players don't submit to the coach and buy into his plan.

Some sports teams would've ousted MacKinnon from their team immediately, as they value management more than players.
