The “Queen of Mean” in “Descendants 3” is totally misunderstood. Audrey is the princess-turned-villain who committed a lot of evil deeds in Auradon. But there is a secret that lies underneath the story of Audrey and Mal that no one realizes. Sure, she was bitter about Mal and Ben’s engagement. But can you blame her? She had her future all planned out until Mal got in the picture. Audrey went through an identity crisis after she saw her perfect life shatter. But maybe that’s the perfect time to question everything. Can you blame an entitled princess for being, well...entitled?
Dove Cameron and Sarah Jeffery square up as rivals in their roles as Mal and Audrey. Mal doesn’t realize that she needs Audrey for a very important reason. We know the real reason Audrey turns into a villain, and it’s not what you think it is. She is after someone’s love, but is it King Ben or someone else? Dark theory: It was all a wicked plan since the beginning. What was the Mal's goal in D1? Take the magic wand, destroy the magic wall, and rule the world. What she get after D3? That’s a good theory except for the fact in D2 she breaks the love spell Uma placed on him with true loves kiss. That wouldn’t have happened if Ben & Mal weren’t each other’s true love, which isn’t exactly something you can plan for. If that was anyone’s plan it would’ve been Maleficent’s. Her little lizard form wasn’t seen in D3 & perhaps her staff can work for from a distance & do things for her that it won’t for Mal. Like with Hades ember that will work for him in ways that it wouldn’t with his daughter.

My theroy: In D3 Audery is in a very emotional state when she starts singing queen of mean. She goes into get the crown and you can see the curtains open to Maleficents staff when she is about to throw the crown down. She didn't even have the intention of putting the crown on her head until she sees the scepter. And than she even says "something is pulling me it's so magnetic" so what if her being evil is all the scepters fault. Like how did the guard fall asleep right when she got there. The gate opens without her even touching her and the scepter is also calling her name. So either the scepter wanted someone to use it or Maleficent was controlling it all. Because it's Maleficents scepter so maybe she has some soul connection with it even when she is a lizard.

I personally think that it wasn’t just one persons fault. She wanted the crown originally, even if she did love Ben she also loved the idea of being queen. And her grandmother is as definitely a huge influence on her actions. But I think the scepter helped too. Overall, I think it was all of these things that made this happen

I think all three of them were wrong in that aspect because audrey wasn't a good girlfriend or person in general at the time and Mal was only spelling Ben because she needed to be close enough to grab the wand, so Ben wasn't thinking about anyone else but Mal at the time and didn't know he was supposed to break it off with audrey first but after the fact we never see Ben apologizing for the public announcement of their relationship without telling her they were over

Just a random idea: What if maleficent got away as a lizard and somehow put a spell on the septer so Audrey was hypnotised to pick it up. So maybe maleficent put the bad in Audrey's head? Audrey was hurt badly, as she said herself Mal didn’t win Ben fair and square, she put a spell on him so he very publicly declared his love for Mal despite being in a relationship with Audrey. She ruined Audrey’s “perfect” life with the spell and Ben fore gave her for it but none of them apologised to Audrey or anything! I believe that she came to the museum with the intent to steal the crown just so Mal couldn’t have it but then the staff emphasised her feelings and made her go all mean 😊

Mal did mean to steal Ben from Audrey by putting a love spell on him, she also never tried to get Ben and Audrey back together afterwards. If Mal never put the love spell on Ben, they would've never been together. Audrey would've been Queen of Auradon besides Mal, unless the villains took over or something else dark happened.

Ever since I saw Queen Leah in descendants one I've always had a bad feeling about her. I mean I understand that she is Aurora's mom and Audrey's grandma. And I know that Queen Leah has held a grudge against Maleficent for all the things that happened to Aurora but to me that's no right for her to condemn Mal for her mother's actions. So in all honesty I feel like it was Queen Leah's actions and words toward Audrey that made her snap. Sure she may have hated Mal already but it hadnt been for Hades waking her up and Mal and ben apologising to Audrey I believe Audrey would still be very bitter toward everyone in Auradon. She is very misunderstood for sure💜💚💜💚💜

I think Audrey is misunderstood since here Gramma put a lot of pressure on her from the very beginning and having her choosen suitor ripped away from her by the daughter of Maleficent didn’t exactly help much when it came to her Gramma’s pressure and disappointment towards her.

Looking at this video and the comments I just realized that Audrey and Evie actually have very similar way they were raised. They both have this very important person in there life that they want to please telling them they have to marry a Prince/King and if they don't, they would be considered failures or useless. I'm not really sure who would have it worst between the two. I'm leaning towards Audrey because Evie had real friends while Audrey didn't have that. It was all superficial acquaintances for her.

Audrey is Misunderstood, and very mean. If you’ve watched all of the Descendants movies then you would totally understand well except for the 2nd one she’s not in. For some reason. But, I was disappointed when we only got to see a little bit of Evil in Audrey, and not a lot. 🤩🤩
