That is so nice you can donate blood/plasma, I've tried over 5 times and always rejected:-) (iron and ONCE it was actually ok but the protein was off!) Finally I just gave up. --Once they didn't like my SKIN!!! And this was over a long period of time and in different places I've lived!! It is comical it at this point!

Nice to hear from you. Agree with a lot of what you said. I do drink before and after I eat without a problem. I do still track what I eat most of the time. I'm not as anal about it, i.e. when I travel, I just try to eat sensibly. I also still meal plan which helps me stay on track. It does help because I can go back to even before the surgery and say what I ate or what I ate at a particular stage or how many calories I ate and can relate it to what I was losing. I generally only keep healthy food in the house which helps. I still weigh weekly whether I want to or not. I do graze and know that will never change so I graze on cherry tomatoes or similar foods. Gotta eat a lot of cherry tomatoes to gain weight.

Thank you! This has helped. I had the Loop DS on 11-11-19 with Dr. Richard's of BMI UT. Congrats on everything.

Dianna On A Loop DS That is so awesome!!! How has it need?! I bet you love it. I hope you do. They have nothing but the best doctors there.
@DiannaBrickey4 жыл бұрын
@@GinaMarieUT Dr. Richard's is pretty neat! She did a great job. I'm still struggling a bit. Getting used to not eating and drinking at the same time is difficult. Also, I keep forgetting that I need to save space for my vitamins or they can just come right back up. 🙄 Do you have a messenger app? I'd love to chat with you in private if youd be willing!
@GinaMarieUT4 жыл бұрын
Dianna On A Loop DS oh man- that’s the worst. Trying to retrain your mind from doing everything that it’s done your whole life is hard. I get it. i still have issues and if anything, I feel like that’s why people fall back to their routines before surgery- I don’t see it as faults of their own, it’s just hard to retrain yourself. What do you mean messenger app? I’m willing. :)

Yes! :) I love you. I love your videos. My DS surgery date is 12-10-19. I am watching as many patient videos as I can. It's wonderful how many of you there are doing videos. The information is invaluable. Loved this video and your honesty. I saw your "candy jar buffet" in a past video and was wondering if you still have it set up :)
@GinaMarieUT4 жыл бұрын
You are the sweetest!!! YES- but surprisingly that candy doesn't really bother me or tempt me- I mean I can have it any time I want, so that might be why. HA. I love it for decoration and also it's fun to have my neices and nephews come eat off it. Or anyone that comes and visits for that matter. It's just a stable at my house. I really appreciate your feedback and it does mean the world that these videos that we all do, really do help. I know they helped me - watching them and doing them.

We were probably eating like a two or three years old child and that was probably more than enough food most of us

I am a year after surgery and have lost about 95 pounds, I’ve been so frustrated. I don’t drink soda at all. I drink filtered water, and don’t eat junk. I just don’t see how I’m not loosing. I hate to compare myself to others but it’s so hard when people say they’ve lost 70 plus pounds in 2 months! What am I doing? Do I need to just walk and walk? I’ve had bloodwork, nothing is out of whack. I’m just frustrated! I’m happy for the size I am, I was a size 30, now I’m an 14-18, but man it’s just not coming off!
@GinaMarieUT4 жыл бұрын
Joy W I totally get that frustration. Totally. It is hard to not compare yourself when others are having such amazing success. I think it’s also good to realize that muscle weighs more than fat. Sometimes when I look at people who are losing a ton- they had a lot more body fat than myself. Also- sometimes it’s good to shift your calories up to more for a week and then back down- just to keep your body guessing. I know when I was seeing a nutritionist and would stall- he would up my calories for that week and it then drop it the next week and that would shift things too. It’s so frustrating. I hear you.

I am not doing well. I am 15 days away from surgery. I am on a 800 calorie diet. I am great all day no issues. Late night hits & I fail hard core! I'm thinking about having someone take my keys & wallet & lock me in my house for the next 2 weeks. Now you said no grazing but how do you get all the liquid & protein shakes down. Like you can only take little sips at a time. How long did it take for you to drink a shake?
@GinaMarieUT3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I didn't see this. My case was a little different because I felt like I was always able to do more than they told me to. I brought this up to my doctor and he said something about " we aren't trying to starve you" so I decided to intuitive eat/drink. That helped me listen to my body on what I needed and when I needed to stop and start eating.

Started Pureed Diet Friday Oct 11, 2019. I am not even getting in 3 ozs; but I have gained 2 pounds. Is this normal.
@GinaMarieUT4 жыл бұрын
Teresa Webb I’m assuming this is after your surgery. Honestly- your body is doing so much changing who is to say what’s normal and what’s not. I would just hang in there and be consistent- you’ll start to see the changes.
@teresawebb53744 жыл бұрын
Gina thank you. I am happy to say I got on our scales and lost 2 pounds. Also from watch Dr Weiner (Bariatric Doctor) on KZfaq he says if you have lost 30-40 pounds prior to surgery about the 3rd or 4th week you will have a stall for a week or so. Yes I lost approximately 40 - 45 pounds prior to my surgery. I do love watching your videos. You are an encourager.

Teresa Webb that’s awesome!!! I also didn’t know that about the weight loss. That makes sense though and I’m so glad were able to find some answers. That can be so frustrating but I am a definite believer of consistency. Not always the best at it but I try. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the awesome work! Honestly, thank you for such kind comments. It means so much.
