This video is about all the questions I had for my pre-op dr. visit. I am doing the duodenal switch and I had questions surrounding how do they know how much to cut? Why the switch of intestines? Liquid vs clear liquid? Diarrhea and gas? Hospital stay and much more!

Hi Gina Hope all is well I was wondering how are you doing now and did you have any complications I am scheduled to have the D switch February 19 in Atlanta Georgia I live in California so I’m really nervous about If something goes wrong what would I do thank you so much for this video

Pamela Williams No Problems!!! I had no complications. I’ve stuck to making sure I get my protein and I take my vitamins- so nothing has gone wrong. Especially during the whole surgery part- no complications. I’ve been really happy!

Gina, are you in any facebook groups for DS people? If not look up Duodenal switch patients plenty of people there with advice who have been like 17yrs post ds and have great advice.

My surgery is scheduled for 2/20/19. Did you have to drink that awful magnesium citrate? If so, what do you recommend on how to keep that stuff down or make it taste better? (I've had to drink it before for another procedure).

Lee Tee You know, I don’t believe I did. Luckily. I think the worst thing was the clear liquid diet. That was it.

So were you able to go back to work after a week? I took 2 weeks and I hope that’s enough and do you have a lot of diarrhea? Sorry if that’s too personal but I wanna know these things lol

I was. My body was still adjusting. I really didn't feel like I had too much diarrhea. I was able to control things.
