Punk Rock and Progressive Metal don't share the same kind of audience, or do they? btw. I'm not sure if that's an actual cover of a Rudi Adobiie video though. Sorry bro!

@@gaborkrausz5402 Easy, follow the snare. Usually Haake plays in polyrhytms but leaves the snare at 4/4 so you can headbang to it. If it is not the snare, there will be an element that is 4/4, but it is polyrhythms so you have to find the right element to follow along.

@@farrex0 I know that, I just used it as a meme, I usually don't headbang to meshuggah, I rather follow along the riffs than the drumming, and rarely look at it as a headbanging material, even tho its not hard, as you said.

@SeymoreSparda
@SeymoreSparda 3 жыл бұрын
@@yeetmastrr-xg7zk Nah...It's pretty easy. They are basically the proggier side of the punk rock lineage. Pronk = prog oldschool 3-chord rock punk rock (plus, certain 80's Hardcore), Jazzcore = Jazz/Hardcore, Math Rock and Mathcore = Prog Post-Hardcore, the other 3 , you can just glean from context. Like Tool and A Perfect Circle. They are no mere straight Alternative Rock/Metal bands. Prog Post-Metal/Sludge Metal is harder to recognize, though. They can go to the really obvious ones like Mastodon, or just experimental/avantgard-y ones like The Oceans. The thing that you should ask yourself is; Can you stand the more extreme kind of punk rock (Hardcore adjescent genres) or not. Go from there. Everybody got their own treshold. No need to force yourself through something you can't stand. Like Mastodon. Sludge Metal is basically Doom Metal + Hardcore Punk. If your go-to bands are Ramones and Clash, or 90's pop punk bands, then prepare yourself, or don't bother. Math Rock is a weird one, tho. The Post-Hardcore influences are there, but influences from Indie negates its extremities. You can sleep to Math Rock, that's how serene it is.
