@@BOOSTED_UTV I have/had a 16 6.7 Cummins deleted w/trans tune and I'd say it's worth it to do it because stock tune is trying to make your truck shift super smooth so you don't notice it much. After deleted and tuned she shifted harder until it learned my driving habits, which is awesome that it learned it, but smoothed out quite a bit after it learned me. Smoke is not my thing really, but she would if I put her on tune 4 and got in it. Oh had custom tune/with trans tune, 4" straight pipe no muffler, EFI live

I have a 10 mega cab 3500 srw with 199k with H&S black maxx with trans tuning and it helps out a lot. I have pusher mega intake and pipes and Rudy’s cold air and 425 arp studs so builds boost quick (36psi)

I"m freaked out by my oil being clear to 5000, when I change it.

Just straight pipe no muffler. It is very loud, there's no getting around it. I've never gotten any trouble from the police, but we don't have emissions testing around here and I try not to drive like an ass either. So that helps a bit

If you work on your own stuff or ABLE to... screw the warranty... the truck is going to last and have no serious issues. The dealership isn't there to help you.. they're there for your MONEY. I have a 2018 2500 6.7L and deleted it. Runs WAY BETTER. More power, better fuel economy and I know (I'm a master mechanic) that the ENGINE will last MUCH LONGER because of the delete. Remember... the WHOLE REASON why the EGR system, DEF system and EXHAUST system are installed on these and many other vehicles is this: The EPA makes sure that all vehicles sold/imported to the USA are either BUILT or TUNED to be INEFFICIENT engines via strict regulations. The only problem with doing that is an inefficient engine puts out lots of "emissions", which is why they designed these systems. It's a win win for them. They get to sell lots of fuel around the USA and make lots of money in taxes (fuel taxes= over HALF of the USA's TOTAL TAX REVENUE) AND the systems they designed to keep emissions a lot lower help them look good, like they're doing something to "save the environment". These systems also cause premature wear on all engines and they fail much sooner, especially GAS engines. This also helps "them" because people don't like to deal with car troubles, so they just buy a new car.... driving car sales and this entire industry. Look around the WORLD. The USA is the ONLY country that creates and has EGR systems, it's bullshit... trust me. ALSO look around the world and find vehicles that have been built WITHOUT restrictions to see what they can actually do. In 1990 Honda made the V-tec engine. It was IMMEDIATELY banned from import or sales in the USA as well as several other developed countries. WHY you ask?? Well it got 70 mpg! on a PRODUCTION ENGINE that was untuned. That was THIRTY ONE years ago. We have had the technology for DECADES! to EASILY produce a 5-7L engine in either gas or diesel that could achieve 100 MPG. It's not allowed because of MONEY. Imagine if your 3500 got 100 mpg instead of 13. That means you would SPEND about 87% LESS MONEY on FUEL. That means they would LOSE 87% of the fuel tax revenue just from you alone. Now imagine if the entire country was ALLOWED to own vehicles like this...... They would LOSE so much MONEY in fuel tax revenue that they COULD NOT continue to spend like they do year after year. It would require a ridiculous reform on Government spending... which they are NOT going to let happen. I will predict the future right now!.... When solar power is readily available at a reasonable price down the road AND electric cars are affordable.... you will see the FUEL ECONOMY of diesel and gas engines SOAR! They will continue to sell fuel for as long as possible and tax it as much as possible. Wonder why the fuel prices during the pandemic are so low??? It's not because FUEL is less expensive to buy for a gas station... it's because the GOVERNMENT greatly reduced the TAXES on the fuel. Anyhow... there is WAY MORE information about engines out there if you SEEK the truth, this was just a starting point to get you thinking. Again... I wouldn't wait to delete your 3500. The MAIN reasons why your truck would have to go in for warranty work IS the exact systems you would be REMOVING. Look up old diesel engines that still run... There are MANY old diesel engines that were built for OTHER purposes than a vehicle engine, so they don't have computers "running" them, no emissions systems or fuel additives, etc (basically no EPA interference). The engines have run ridiculous numbers of hours for DECADES and still run perfectly fine with "regular" maintenance. Diesel engines are SUPERIOR to gas engines. This has been known for DECADES and is the reason why diesel engines power the vast majority of ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT around the world including those in non developed countries. To name a handful; Trains, Generators, Pumps, Boats/Barges/Tugs/Shipping vessels/etc., TRUCKS for transportation of nearly everything on land, Construction equipment, etc. You WANT to delete it, and you're RIGHT for wanting that. Don't let the "warranty" fool you. Do yourself and your wallet a favor... delete the 3500 and maintain it. It will last for hundreds of thousands of miles. I've seen MANY Cummins engines make it to 1 MILLION miles. Have NEVER seen a gas engine do that, even a meticulously maintained one. Good luck Adrian.

Drew 5.9 keep those rpms up around 3/4 throttle on a heavy load. Lugging kills, low end boost kills, high egts kill. Most of those are eliminated by easing into the throttle and then keeping the rpms between 2100 and 2700 rpm

If you never tow or haul anything sure… They want 80lbs in the rear for the towing/payload capacity. I would be ass over teakettle in the ditch if I tried to yank around my 14k pound dump trailer with 37 lbs in the rear tires, or if I threw a pallet (2k lbs) of wood pellets in the bed and took it for a ride. They would get so hot they would come apart. Not to mention be all over the road. Bad advice for anyone that works the truck somewhat often.

@@robobiss444 you can always add air. I never tow much. Just a 6000 lb boat in the summer and I leave it at 40ish psi. No issues at all. Honestly the truck only gets driven about 4 times a month. But I have bigger tires than factory so they take less air to equal the same weight.

wildhorse192001 the 10-12" trucks have a higher thermostat for the emissions stuff. They want the trucks running hotter to help burn the junk. I have a 11' and it will go up to 210- then drop to 200. Then it will run 200-204 if I'm rolling pretty good speed down the highway. On city driving it won't go above 202. I'm deleted as well.

Twheat 77 just threw on a 190 degree thermostat yesterday. Gonna be towing this weekend, so far with normal highway driving its from 188-192 degrees consistently

Zay Phillips gotcha. I'll plan a short trip and keep an eye on that too. However, having driven from my small town in Northern Wisconsin and gotten all the way to about Mulvane Kansas 3/4 tank of fuel, it's definitely getting very good economy either way. Hell, I only burned through 1/4 tank when I filled up just south of Mason city Iowa and drove back up here to Amery WI. Regardless, I'll see if the odometer is spot on :)

dachunde I'll check that out, so far I haven't had any issues to speak of. On my trip back from Texas I had the tuner on the next bump up from the stock power setting and it was fantastic for interstate cruising. Anything for more performance wouldn't hurt though. Until something breaks. Haha

Todd Hale every state is different, hell every county is different. For example, I live in northwest Wisconsin where there is no emissions testing what so ever, I literally drive around with no muffler or emissions all the time every single day and I won't ever be bothered. In southeast Wisconsin they do test for emissions but all they do is look for a check engine light. With a programmer to cut the light off, you would still pass. It would not pass in a sniffer test site. You would have to throw on the emissions and drive a bit before testing if you have to test. In the end, it all depends where you live and how they test (if at all). If you can get away with it, absolutely go for it

Red Poole I used to hit the light load button, but I've since gone into the tuner and completely disabled the Tpms during winter. When we have a bad snow storm I like to lower all four tires down to about 40 for added grip

galc905 checkout the MM3 tuner at Double R Diesel. It will also come with a trans tune for every HP tune. He custom makes them for your truck using your stock file.

It will not pass a sniffer test if its deleted and tuned. A standard CEL test it will as long as the tuner shuts off the light. If you have emissions tests, you'll have to find a "helpful" testing site, or keep your stock stuff and throw it back on every year

Never there has been emission testing on diesels. They don’t look under the hood or under the truck, Just got to the right people, safety only in TX on diesels.. half the time they just take your vin and give you the sticker, if you know people, I own one and get it done every year, $7 that’s it.

Andy Arnette I spent about 1200.00 on everything, the tuner was 750 or so, 4" turbo back exhaust about 325, throttle plate delete somewhere around 80, egr delete I think was like 100/125. I got everything on Amazon, it was actually the best price for everything in one shot

Jim Knox yeah it will void the powertrain warranty. A lot of people usually delete and say to hell with it because the only issues these engines have relates to emissions anyway. On the flip side a lot of people wait to delete until the warranty has run up, so really it's up to you in the end obviously on what you believe will be most beneficial. Personally my choice would be delete right away. Not advice, just saying what my choice would be.

Probably around 400 but throttle response alone after deleting a Cummins is amazingly difficult to explain, they rip!

No, I've never had it get any hotter than 206/207 with the stock thermostat. Now I run a 190 degree thermostat and the hottest it'll get while towing is 194/196

@@xKorellx Oh ok. with your ford f150 that was overheating with tow mode on, did you ever manage to see what was wrong with it and getting it fixed?

It gets 2-3 MPG more than it did with all the emissions stuff on it. You'll need a tuner and a new exhaust without the catalytic converter or DPF filter. I'd get an EGR delete kit as well to keep the exhaust out of your engine.

They do that all the time around here. Our driver has to go something like 60 miles away from his depot or whatever they call their office. They'll leave a trailer at a gas station or something like that, then come back to it around halfway through the day and reload more packages into the truck

I haven't updated mine because when I purchased my mini maxx back in (Feb maybe?), I was reading online that the newest update was bricking some of the tuners. So I still haven't plugged mine into the PC, but if I'm not mistaken you take out the SD card from the back of the mini maxx and put that into your PC, then update from there. You'll want to visit their website for sure man

I have a 190 degree T stat in here, so it does run cooler than stock which was around 203/205 degrees. Otherwise no they don't really run any cooler. It does take slightly longer to warm up without the EGR cooler though. That hot exhaust running up against the coolant really makes a difference in the winter for warming up

Benjamin Ward depends where you go, not all shops will remove things like the dpf or catalytic converter. I'd say call around or check out Craigslist. I've seen some shops advertising on Craigslist that they'll do it and usually the cost is about ~2,0000

xKorellx it cost me about 2000 for my truck 2011 2500 H&S fully unlocked for the deleted egr valve and egr cooler and 4 inch turbo back Straight pipe Exhaust and you can do it all you’re self it’s really easy

Taylor Ryan the mpg is nice, really nice for a 3/4 ton pickup. Your economy car isn't going to haul loads anywhere. A gas truck equivalent doesn't come anywhere near the diesel ratings for towing and economy either. Apples and oranges my friend.

On my days off from work I pull a boat and love going to the river. However nice as my maxima is, it doesn't fare well with a boat behind it. The winters are ruff around here. Gotta have a 4x4 it's not just a personal choice for me. More of a necessity. Getting those kinds of mpg's is just icing on the cake. Love those diesels
