We read about the tabernacle in the Old Testament that God used to be among His people. It was a place of worship, one where sacrifices were made to cover the Israelites’ sins. Sounds like a fascinating story, right? But what if I told you that this particular place contains the blueprint to your salvation? Tune in to today’s episode in which Keith Detwieler from Little Light Studios walks you through that blueprint.

It is our hope that a more sophisticated awareness and in-depth knowledge of what lies at the “heart” of 21st century pop culture, will allow families and individuals to more clearly distinguish well-intended, authentic entertainment from deceptively-crafted propaganda, which attacks the minds, confuses the senses, and rips apart the fabric of society.

This was an excellent podcast. I have never understood the sanctuary services. It all seemed too complicated & to be brutally honest, it wasn’t something I cared about because I felt it was a thing of the past & there was enough in the Bible to study without concerning myself with this topic. But, of late, I have been thinking that God must want us to understand it or He wouldn’t have put it in the Scriptures. You guys made it so much easier to understand than anyone else that I have ever heard discuss it! Thank you so much for helping me to understand it🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼

The Table of Shewbread, or Showbread, in the Tabernacle was a special table where twelve loaves of bread, representing the twelve tribes of Israel, were placed before the Lord as a continual offering. The bread was replaced every Sabbath, and the priests ate the old bread. The priests likely baked the new loaves in preparation for the Sabbath, ensuring that fresh bread would be placed on the table as part of the weekly ritual. The old bread that was removed would then be eaten by the priests in a holy place. According to Leviticus, the bread for the Table of Shewbread was not manna, which was the miraculous food provided by God during the Israelites' wanderings in the desert. Instead, the bread was made from fine flour provided by the Israelites themselves. Leviticus 24:5-9 describes the process: "You shall take fine flour and bake twelve cakes of it; two tenths of an ephah shall be in each cake. And you shall set them in two piles, six in a pile, on the table of pure gold before the Lord. And you shall put pure frankincense on each pile, that it may go with the bread as a memorial portion as a food offering to the Lord. Every Sabbath day Aaron shall arrange it before the Lord regularly; it is from the people of Israel as a covenant forever. And it shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place, since it is for him a most holy portion out of the Lord's food offerings, a perpetual due." Thus, the bread placed on the Table of Shewbread was baked from fine flour brought by the Israelites as part of their offerings, not manna.

What kind of goat was the scapegoat? What does the Bible say? Five of the most common goats raised in the United States: 1. *Angora goat:* The Angora is a relatively large breed. Their excellent temperament and Mohair coat make them enjoyable and productive to raise. 2. *Nubian goat:* This breed is known for its striking appearance, complete with Roman noses and long, floppy ears. The Nubian goat is famous for producing some of the highest-quality, richest milk. 3. *Pygmy goats:* their small size makes them perfect for backyard farms. These goats are excellent family pets and can provide milk and meat. 4. *Nigerian Dwarf goat:* While Nigerian Dwarf goats are dairy animals, this breed is known for being energetic and affectionate, which makes them popular family pets. 5. *Fainting goat:* Named after their “fainting” behavior whenever they are startled, this good-natured breed is often raised for both milk and meat. Keith, in your studies, did you find out if both goats were male (a "buck" or a "billy)" goats. Or female ("does" or "nanny") goats? Also, since the scapegoat wasn't killed, what kept it from wandering back into the vicinity of the people's encampment?

@@daxleone In the world in which we live, no one holds beliefs or makes choices in life based on standards of absolute, empirical, demonstrable certainty. Rather, we all live based on likelihood and the preponderance of the evidence. All of us, saints and skeptics, live lives of faith. God, as the very Reality of the universe, is the reason for the existence of the manifest universe. His nature is the proof of His existence, evident in every aspect of our world. It recognizes that these truths are so fundamental to reality that to deny their existence is ultimately to deny reason itself. The Bible says that the “fool has said in his heart, there is no God” (Ps 53:1), not merely because it is unwise to live without reference to eternity or divine judgment. Rather, the denial of a Creator and an ordered creation also makes impossible any reasonable confidence that human reason can engage with reality at all. God’s existence and involvement with the created order are not absolute proof. To deny his existence, however, is to reject the ground of reason that forms the argument for denial. “Reformed Epistemology” purported the belief that a belief in God is no less rational and warranted than scientific beliefs, which are based on similar kinds of “basic” proposals that support belief in God. Let me hasten to say there is evidence of a God. Creation, the universe, the Bible (revelation God), man, nature, ecosystems, etc. All these things speak of an intelligent designer who is behind it all. *Sources:* -- (Alvin Plantinga and Nicholas Wolterstorff, eds., Faith and Rationality [Notre Dame: Notre Dame University Press, 1983]. -- Christian Smith, ed., The Secular Revolution [Berkeley: University of California Press, 2003], 11).

God is also merciful and patient. He is giving everyone the chance to make their decision. Including those following Satan. It's been told that a mark will be given to both the righteous and the unrighteous based on who they follow. God is allowing the satanic system to be set up and for people to make their choice. God has never metted out judgement without giving the one(s) in question plenty of time to repent. His judgement is final, but he doesn't want any to perish.

@daxleone, the Bible, and my faith. There are plenty of texts to accept the Bible as inspired, Jesus' humanity/divinity, and Jesus' assurance of salvation and return. I can provide texts for each point if you accept the Bible as God's revelation to man that gives hope in this world and the world to come. My faith in Christ's (via the Inspired Bible) resurrection power is what gives me hope: -- "For the invisible things of him from the world's creation are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse" (Romans 1:20). -- "Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature" (Colossians 1:15). -- "For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him" (Colossians 1:16). 15 "That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God" (John 3:15-18) This is just a sample of the hope within me. Faith in someone bigger, wiser, and more powerful than anything I can ask. Faith is the method by which this great salvation becomes ours individually. When you're interested, I can share more here or elsewhere when it's arranged. Limiting one's life only to the things that are physical and visible would leave one destitute in addressing the vicissitudes of living before the return of Jesus. It brings joy, comfort, and peace that passeth all understanding. The Christian faith is historical in the sense that it essentially depends upon what did, in fact, happen. Truth and historical reality belong together and cannot be separated from their theological content. “To remove the historical from the concerns of Scripture is to remove what demonstrates the faithfulness of God.” Because God acts in history. In the New Testament, Jesus and the apostles accepted as accurate the historical events recorded in the Old Testament (Matt. 19:4, 5; Rom. 15:4) because historical events, such as Creation, the Flood, and the Exodus, are part of the salvation history revealed in Scripture. In Christianity, faith is logical, defined in Hebrews 11:1 as “being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” This is not blindly believing the impossible (which is how many Atheists define faith) but instead trusting the promises of God, whose past promises have all been fulfilled. Faith is "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Heb. 11:1, NKJV). This faith will lead us into the Promised Land when Christ returns. Faith is based on knowledge and an inner conviction: • Faith is action. • Faith believes. • Faith goes beyond human reasoning and comprehension. • Faith is MORE THAN A MENTAL ASSESSMENT. Faith is a demonstration and not a feeling. It is something believers “obtain” from righteous God-that is, fair and impartial. Regarding salvation, we all have the same opportunity and standing before God. Faith matures in stages as a child develops -- "hearing the Word of God." It helps especially in times of sickness, decisions, crisis, death of a loved one, and one's own impending death. Even with death, there is hope beyond the grave. Where there is no faith, fear flourishes (Mark 4:40). As with Genesis 1:1, Hebrews 11:3 is full of mystery and unexplainable things by our present knowledge. Yet, the text does tell us that the universe was not formed from preexisting matter. The universe was created by the power of God’s Word; that is, matter and energy were brought into existence by God’s power. “Without faith, it is impossible to please God” (Heb. 11:6, NIV). I hope this helps. *SOURCES:* -- Noel Weeks, The Sufficiency of Scripture (Edinburgh: The Banner of Trust, 1988), p. 50. -- LaMothe, R. (2010). Types of faith and emotional intelligence. One thing is that the NKJV doesn’t make a difference between he holy and most holy when pertaining to the book of Hebrews
@cmc8176
@cmc8176 Ай бұрын
Purcella, The book of Hebrews reveals a real sanctuary in heaven. In Hebrews 8:2, the word "sanctuary" is a translation of the Greek word ta hagia, which is the plural form of the holy place (thing). Additional usages of this plural term can be found, e.g., in Hebrews 9:8, 12, 24, 25; 10:19; 13:11. The various translations give the impression that Christ ministers only in the Most Holy Place or the holy place (see KJV, NKJV, NIV, and NASB), not the sanctuary. This is because the translators consider ta hagia an intensive plural, translatable as a singular. But a study of the Septuagint and Josephus showed that the term ta hagia does consistently refer to "holy things" or the "holy places"-i.e., to the sanctuary itself. It is the general term used to refer to the entire sanctuary, with its holy and Most Holy places. Hebrews uses "ta hagia" to refer to the entire sanctuary, which has exegetical solid support in the epistle. The first use of ta hagia in Hebrews occurs in 8:2 and is opposed to "the true tent." Since it is clear from 8:5 that "tent" (skene) indicates the entire sanctuary, in Hebrews 8:2, ta hagia must designate the entire heavenly sanctuary. There is no reason to translate the plural ta hagia in Hebrews as the Most Holy Place. In most cases, the context favors the translation of ta hagia as "the sanctuary." I hope this helps. *SOURCE:* -- "Christ and His High Priestly Ministry," *Ministry,* October 1980, p. 49.
