Hi Lynn! I have a request for you. I’ve seen some people on r/stretched who have dark skin worried they have a blowout just because their stretched ears are more scrunchy or have a slightly different color around the fistula. Just like medical textbooks don’t show skin conditions on dark skin tones, there aren’t a lot of photos of healthy (and unhealthy) darker skin tone lobes. Would you be able to create a video or some sort of comprehensive guide so that people are better able to see if their ears are healthy?

I'm still recovering from a bad stretch I did about a month ago (4g to 2g). I had torn my right ear and I had only downsized regrettably. The wound is healed but after watching this and the last video I want to wait a few more months and keep doing daily massages to get both of my ears to not be so red on the inside and to be as healthy as possible before I go to 1g.

i jumped from an 8g to a 6g after 5 months so i thought i was ready (but i did have a little tear in the past and it probably triggered it this time), left it in all day. later on when i’m taking them out to clean them there’s a little bit of blood and they are hella sore. i’ve been putting saline and coconut oil on it, but im hearing from you to only use saline, so thank you sm. i really hope i can heal this tear so i can continue my journey, i need to learn patience with this i guess. i thought 5 months was enough but i don’t think i healed the last tear right and that was the issue.

this is really helpful. i wish it was easier to find sizes between 0 and 00 i looked in the internet and in local shops for weeks and found nothing. one of my ears went to 00 easily with no pain or resistance. the other i waited three extra weeks and had slight resistance but no pain til the next day, fast forward another day and i’m dealing with a blowout. i’m very sad that there’s probably nothing to be done but get surgery because i definitely can’t afford that 😢

I am so sorry you have a blowout 💗 If you're in the US, bodyartforms has 8.5 mm plugs (between 0 and 00). Their "Single Flare Glass Plug" you first pick 0g and then pick "0g (8.5 mm in gauge) black" they also have 9.5 mm, if you use both then it's only a 1 mm stretch as opposed to 2 or you could google a 9 mm plug /nd I can't help with treating blowouts but wanted to give you somewhere since you expressed finding difficulty of inbetween sizes, i'm sure this vid and many others have good tips on blowouts though, good luck /gen

So i have a quick question. But before that i need to explain lmaooo, so im 2 inches. And i sleep with my silicone jewelry in, and it comes out every now and then when i sleep (i sleep crazy i cant help it) and out of nowhere i developed a habit of putting them back in (but im half asleep doing it. Its weird, ill just feel for it, find it and put it back in) usually when it happeneds. My ear shrinks overnight!!! Anyway. One night half asleep i put it back in, the next morning my ear is swollen and super red!! And now i have a blowout that i didnt have before and its really bad, i havent stretched in a year. So i just dont know what to do... i had perfectly HEALTHY lobes before this and now im freaking out that this blowout is forever, the skin is all ripped up in the back and its scabbing up, i even downsized 2 sizes (left ear, usual suspect) i been doing a saline rince but its taking forever. Am i fucking up by constantly taking out the jewelry to clean? Do i keep the jewelry in when i clean? I been stretching for MORE than 10 years and this has never happened to meee😩 (well. When i was like 00 but baby sizes are an easy fix, im 2 inches and freaking tf outttt i dont wanna tear or ruin my ear, helppp😩😩😭😭

Tapers after 00 are a menace learned that the hard way years ago..... I honestly cant tell whether I have a blow out or a build up of scar tissue. When i take my plugs off it doesnt hang out the back it puffs up toward the cent of the stretched hole. Rubs have helped a bit, and its relatively small, I still have 7mm to go so im curious to see how it sits when I decide to go up. Depending how much my ears stretch with my glass plugs I might do a 2mm stretch when i feel that im ready.

Hi!! So I’ve been at 1/2 for a while now, I’ve always worn surgical steel and decided to give silicone another try (last time made my ears tender) welll this time I fought through the tenderness and woke up to my ears super tender. Not a fun time so I tried to take the silicone out but I had some plasma buildup causing it to suction to my ear. Terrible time but finally got them out and seen that the back of my lobes were super red and pushed out. I think it’s a blow out.. not sure if it’s an allergic reaction or if all the tension pushing all parts of my ear was just too much for my ear? Please help!! I sized back to a 6mm after stretching to a 7mm. I'm trying to slowly get to a 8mm by doing the half sizes because I believe I've already had a tear before without realizing it ( this was before I even knew such things could actually happen ). I knew about blowouts and have sized back once before because I was afraid that's what was happening. Treated it for about a week twice a day in non-iodized salt water and massaged it with vitamin E after. Now that I know about tears, it makes a bit more sense. When I stretched it, my right ear didn't feel right. Then I noticed it started bleeding a bit when I took it out the following day. That was a clear indicator that I tore my earlobe. So, my question is: Did I do the right thing by going back to a 6mm or should I have gone back to a smaller size?! I've been at this now probably going on a year in a half so downsizing is a bit of a disappointment for me, but, I'm willing to do what I have to in order to keep my earlobes healthy. My ear is a little sore ( feels bruised ), however, its not as uncomfortable as it was when I had the 7mm in. I also want to mention that on my right ear, underneath the tunnel, there is a faint line from the tunnel to the bottom of my earlobe. I think the tear is on the upper portion of the gauge because that's where the blood was coming from, but, it could have just pushed out in that area instead of where it is As if it is bruised or something. I want to get around to finding a reputable piercer, but, have had no such luck.

Why no jobaba oil during blowout/ tear ? it promotes new cell growth in wounds and it’s a natural antiseptic when used with a carrier oil such as olive oil (do not use jobaba oil at full strength)
@Lynn_Loheide
@Lynn_Loheide Жыл бұрын
Because at the end of the day even if we are stretching our piercings it’s still a form of puncture wound which does not do well with oils during healing. Jojoba oil is awesome to massage your lobes with after a tear or blowout has healed to promote collagen and help the scar tissue mature. But using it on a still open tear can actually prevent healthy wound drainage, trap and allow dead bacteria to sit on the surface of the wound, and even cause allergic reactions. Not to mention all the issues with the lack of regulation for natural oils. Sterile saline wound wash is safe and has been proven over and over to be the most safe inert thing we can suggest the the majority of folks.

So I’ve been at 5/8 for about 5 years, i knew I was ready to stretch when o noticed a gap so I bought some 3/4 plugs and did not fit so I got some 11/16 plugs and decided to put them on 4 days ago (8-29) my right ears was giving me problems but decided to just “force it” the left ear went in smoothly . the pain went away after a day but did notice some blood on my right ear. Should I be concern. My wife says it still looks swollen but like I said the pain isn’t there unless I really mess with it and it’s very minimal.

That sounds like a tear :( you definitely should be careful with these and don’t slip sizes!

@@Lynn_Loheide I honestly thought 5 years was enough time. Do you think saline solution and doing sea salt soaks will help or should I take out the plug and go back to 5/8? Like I said I feel no pain unless I touch the inner part of the ear it and just feels like when you get a freshly pierced ear.

@@XJordanx89 unfortunately your ears don’t just keep loosening more and more the longer the time is. There’s a limit to how loose they get. More time doesn’t always mean skipping sizes. You still want to go up slowly! Downsizing is the safest bet any time there is a tear

I’m so upset, last year I had a blow out due to wearing externally threaded plugs. My ears looked really good until I wore those plugs so I downsized, now my ear doesn’t want to go back to the size I was at.
