What To Do If You Get Lost [Wilderness Survival Basics]

This video demonstrates a last-resort land navigation technique to help you find your trail if you get lost in the wilderness. It should only be used when all else fails.
This method helped me find my way back to the trail when I got lost in south Florida in 2016.

Take it from a search and rescue specialist who has also been lost in the Great Dismal Swamp with no one aware. If you are a loner, do not have anyone to leave a trip route with or anyone in your life that is dependable, GO BUY A PLB- personal locator beacon, register it with the USCG (if required) and carry it no matter where you are going. Your life is worth the $400. Great upload Sir.

I would step off the trail purposely as a kid in the Sierra Nevadas camping & strike out on my own & find my way back like a pidgeon. Once with a group of riders, up there, (where I'd never been) no one knew which way back & i finally told them I'm heading back if anyone wants to follow & went right back. Since found an antique book relating some people have this natural ability.

Just a tip - if you’re lost and have a phone while there’s still battery / change your voicemail to the location your are describing the area so when the phones dies and people call you that will be what they hear
