This is awesome--you could also track several of these together with resin and make a whole cluster of different sized bowls for an organizer with an organic look.

?: I live in Arizona with the hot temps coming, I have an area that I do my resin in, what is my working time for over 90 degrees in the shade. Or should I attempt to move the resin pours to a location inside the house. I am a beginner and would like to know my work time in creation of different pours,How do I find out the working and setting times?

One of the most important factors to ensure your epoxy resin cures properly is temperature. The ideal temperature for both your ArtResin and your workspace is slightly warmer than room temperature: 75-85F or 24-30C. You also want it to be dry, 50% humidity is ideal and stable meaning no dips in temperature during the first 24hrs. If your product and room temperature is higher it could decrease your working time by around 20 minutes. Normal working time is roughly 45 minutes. When used as directed ArtResin is cure to the touch in 24 hours with a full cure at 72 hours. Take a look at our blog for more information: www.artresin.com/blogs/artresin/what-is-the-perfect-temperature-to-cure-epoxy-resin

Hey Carmen, I love your tutorial. Tried it myself couple times , but had same issues both times. 1. There are bubbles in the bowls. 2. The bottom part becomes too thin and gets some holes (probably due to the bubbles) . How did you get around this?
@Artresin
@Artresin 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Aakshaye, it sounds like maybe you need to use a little more resin to make your dish a little thicker. To reduce the bubbles, it helps to give your resin and hardener a warm water bath before you mix. Amazing. Is this part A or part B I usually have more harder than resin left
@Artresin
@Artresin 9 ай бұрын
This is actually mixed resin, so both part A and part B. It's just a little bit of resin that is left over from pouring on another project and a great way to use it to make a little trinket dish.

@@AnnaBidaArt NICE! Do you get lots of bubbles or can it stay somewhat clear?
@Artresin
@Artresin 4 жыл бұрын
ArtResin was initially designed to be a sealant and poured at an 1/8th of an inch in depth. We do have artists that use our product for pouring deeper than an an 1/8th of an inch but they achieve this by doing multiple pours. You can go up to 1/4 inch in your pour and would suggest you use a torch to help pop any bubbles you may have. You can layer ArtResin epoxy resin in multiple coats, as high as you'd like, as long as you pour in 1/8" increments. You have two choices when pouring multiple layers: the first is to pour your first layer, torch out the bubbles, cover and wait 3-5 hours until your ArtResin epoxy resin reaches a jelly like stage. At this point, you can pour on your next 1/8" layer, torch out bubbles, cover, wait 3-5 hrs and repeat until you reach the height you desire. This method is especially handy when pouring into a mold or a dam. The second option is to allow your first layer to fully dry, then give the overall piece a light sanding and pour on your next 1/8" layer. Torch out bubbles, cover and let this layer dry. Repeat these steps as many times as you'd like. Keep in mind that our recommendation of a 72hr cure time is based on a 1/8" layer. The thicker your layers are, the longer the cure time will be. It could take up to 10 days for a full cure, depending on how many layers you've poured.

@@cryptoduck1499 I do get some bubbles but I always wait a few minutes after mixing my resin to torch it before pouring it into a mold, then after a few more minutes torch the resin in my mold for extra bubbles. After the piece is cured and removed, sanding and polishing helps it look more transparent & clear! (I have some videos of this in my channel) Although it isn't recommended by the brand to use it for deep molds, it's hard to find a resin that is free of harsh chemicals and non toxic for sculpture use. Hope this helps!

Aren't you supposed to wear a respirator? The fumes or resin are quite harmful!
@Artresin
@Artresin 3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, we are happy to tell you that unlike some epoxy resins, ArtResin is non-toxic and does not produce harmful fumes, it is safe for home use when used as directed in a well ventilated area. It is important to follow the directions and guidelines for the brand you are using. Here is our blog for more information: www.artresin.com/blogs/artresin/what-safety-precautions-should-i-take-when-using-artresin?_pos=3&_sid=c7c5fa482&_ss=r#
