Dogs : Paintings. Cats : KZfaq. Got it! 😄I'd say the local circumstances are important too. In my hometown there's a pub where budding painters hang their handiwork in the hopes of selling it. Lots of different stuff and of different quality and little of it gets sold. Until there was a painter who had made small watercolors of tug boats. He even charged 750,- for each of em. They all got sold in no-time. The fact that my hometown is a port city might have had something to do with it.

...”A lot of people who buy art probably are older people who buy that type of painting and they probably grew up seeing Bob Ross on TV or at least knowing who he is” I did grow up seeing Bob Ross on TV. And I do love traditional landscape paintings. HOW DID YOU KNOW?

mature people developed a style and refine their taste. And they want the art piece to hold the value. young artists in their rush, pour a lot of confusion in a picture and too much emotion. Some people need soothing and a quiet message that’s the reason landscape is on the top. Art is a language even though it’s silent. Good luck artists.

Sorry, Lad: "Impressionism Has little to do With how thick or thin paint is. "Impressionism" is exactly what the name implies; the artists "impression" of what he or she "sees", in contrast to realism, representationalism, abstraction, or "Pop"!
