Shoutout to my homie Daemon. Dude is hands down the best host of any Ign show. Also his shirts are always on point, facilitates 20 questions very effectively, and is just an all around cool freaking dude.

Heart goes out to Telltale but they deserved this. My boy Colin M pointed out the biggest issue with Telltale's studio legacy on his Playstation podcast - They own nothing, the company is basically worthless in terms of IP and mindshare. The entire foundation of their studio was based on super expensive licenses which probably cost more to acquire than they could actually recoup. It's no secret this just spells bad management.

Due tot the recent telltale situation I decided to play Batman Telltale 1&2 for the first time and I was AMAZED at how much Spiderman "Borrows" from that game.. Yes gameplay is different but scenarios and characters are very damn similar. Everyone kind of noticed how Spiderman "borrows" alot from the Arkham games in combat, but they missed how it uses alot of the story components from the telltale games.

A Punisher game set in a Yakuza environment would work Daemon. When I say a Yakuza environment I mean a small but dense section of open world like Kamurocho, packed with side stories, brawler style gameplay mixed with third person shooter.

My daughter wanted to play a coop game so I downloaded a gang of demos on switch and I gotta say Nine parchments took me by surprise. I really like that game now.

Before I knew Insomniac was doing Spider-Man I thought for sure it was Resistance 4 and even made a bet that Spider-Man was being made by Suckerpunch. Tell me they would not have been perfect too for a Marvel game!

I remember when I first played Fallout 3, I was overwhelmed and got stuck and ended up kinda dismissing it for a few weeks. My friends coaxed me into giving it another shot and giving it some time to learn the systems of the game. I then proceeded to play so many nights that summer, up until 3am with the lights out exploring every square inch of the Capital Wasteland. Still to this day one of my favorite games of all time.

Rondo of Blood is at least a 9/10, even if SotN is an 11/10. It's by far the very best traditional, whip-based, pre-Metroidvania Castlevania game. The mechanical harmony brought in from the backflip and item crash alone is the very definition of the things Egoraptor's Sequilitis videos used to talk about, especially in regards to Super Castlevania IV breaking it's own design with air control jumping, dedicated subweapon button, and omn-idirectional whipping. Every placement of every enemy, every boss pattern is just so methodical and well tested. The art direction and execution is sublime, and it's very proto-cinematic in the same way Shock Troopers was. Even the sprite size and art style is perfection of the traditional CV style, before Castlevania IV blew it up with roided out, stretched sprite chunks trying to look 16bit BIG like arcade games. It's only flaw is one of the multipath routes is improperly reconciled with a random lead to an area it shouldn't connect to. Despite the remakes own flaws and contentious 2.5D presentation, that was fixed on Dracula X Chronicles with a new level and extra secret boss, in addition to it's extra, final form on Dracula.

I'd like an X Men game either in the style of Mass Effect with multiple choices for the story that affect whether characters stay with you or become enemies. Include the characters from the 1990s X Men cartoon, Jubilee, Rogue, Wolverine, Cyclops, Gambit, Psylocke, Beast, etc. Or make another one like the X Men games on the original Xbox. Those were good.

I really liked Daemon’s Punisher game idea. Maybe even first-person.

I would so love a new Marvel Ultimate Alliance, the first one was amazing. The second was better gameplay-wise, but the variety of enemies and story of the first one make it a superior product. It took you to almost every corner of the Marvel Universe fighting almost every enemy of the Marvel Comics.

Matpat already proved that thanos theory would work. But hey that's just a theory...

I don't get the hate for Simon's Quest. I remember playing it when it came out and just wasn't ready for that style game so I didn't care for it. However, I played through it earlier this year for the first time in 25 years and realize it is a good game ahead of it's time. It's no Symphony, but it's worth playing.

Sounds like Thanos needed to snap half of the music games out of existence. Odd, I recall it took a while for people to warm to Insomniac making a Spiderman game. The whole toys to life genre was another thing that went bust, hell Activision certainly double (tripled?) down on Skylanders.

I LOVE how the game makes you feel like Spider-Man and the combat is top notch....so damn good! BUT...we need more than a short campaign and everything else fleshed out with boring fetch quests. I tried to do everything while I did i the story b/c I didn’t want to be left with a bunch of crap at the end. Finished everything but crimes and OMG! I just can’t do it! Letting my nephew run around for 12 hrs and look for crimes that have no purpose or consequence anymore. Bad post game content! It’s too bad too, as Batman’s challenge rooms were at least really challenging. Would love more side quests, maybe tough bosses at the end that can be tracked down and beaten once you are strong enough etc!

InFamous 1 and 2 are the best super hero games i've ever played. And i'd throw the Just Cause games in there too.

It was frustrating listening to everybody not fully understanding Daemon's Thanos thesis.

Having gone through a huge studio closure myself, I am really sorry for all the employees that were let go. Its a hard thing to deal with. BUT it really didn't surprise me one bit. I played Walking Dead and it was great, but their more recent games were really really bad from a production point of view. Their engine did not age well. The last TellTale game I played was Game of Thrones season 1 and I was shocked how bad it was. An aging and buggy engine plus an ever growing pile of licensed projects that is more work than you have the capacity to complete well is a recipe for disaster. the writing was on the wall unfortunately

Sad to hear about telltale. Well i might as well pitch my ideal telltale game. I feel like its a missed opportunity that telltale didnt use the flash universe. Like its all about desicions and choices which would be great for choosing the flash to race to one end of the city or to another end of the world. And then they could go even deeper and choices effect diff timelines (since flash can travel through time) and finally telltale lived QTE's so thats my pitch.

Watch Dogs 1 is pretty much a Punisher game, Daemon.

How is TLOZ:BOW different than anything else out? It’s a boring, empty open world with cool physics and the ability to climb everything. There is no story and not much reason to explore outside of finding one of hundreds of Korak seeds. I’ve never seen the uniqueness of this game, I must be broken lol
