sia also has many vocal issues right now (she has EDS, a chronic disease) so her voice is very light and uncontrollable at the moment, but she’s recovering well!

Yes 100% correct. Why would one expect/wish David Byrne to sound anything different. It's like saying - I wish Frank Sinatra sounded more like Dean Martin.

Thank you for your kind reaction! What's important is the Sia and David Byrne are old friends and collaborators and Sia loves and respect him so much! They did a song together many years ago - Never too big kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n7ZihcKFqMqVdZ8.html Anyways, this wasn't their best moments on stage but it's just a moment. Both are great artists! And you were right about communication - they looked snd sounded better in rehearsal, with Sia without a wig!

Je suis totalement d’accord avec vous. Il n’était pas mis en condition pour bien chanté. Il a bien chanté. Très émouvant. Peut-être parce que je viens du pays de Gainsbourg, je ne pense pas qu’une bonne performance soit forcément une démonstration vocale.

Good analysis of this and what went wrong overall. You are totally right about there being no introduction to David, that was a big misstep in the planning of this. Good alternative suggestions at the end, too. In my opinion, he was never an incredible singer, he just sort of has a signature style (and I'm saying that as someone who likes the Talking Heads a lot). This song was not a good choice for his voice live - it's still cool they included him though. It would be cool to see a new studio mix that features him and blends a bit better. Honestly, I really didn't expect some kind of powerhouse vocals out of David Byrne at 70 years old singing a Sia song. I wonder what the people on Tiktok were expecting??

Somehow this resumes what is happening in our society right now. A portion of us is in a small box refusing to be seen and the other part is trying to reach them. From music point, I like the idea of singing to be, in a chorous, a teamwork and that it requires connections. The other point I find interesting is the fact that we as society are starting to loose touch with reallity how a raw live sounds and are so used to this layered stages to the point a singer there doing it great is being considered bad, this remembers me the importance of planning and lots of rehersals.

I mean Sia has an amazing voice and I've been a fan of David's since back in the Talking Heads days. Tha being said, their voice do not blend well together.

David Byrne has an excellent voice and from the short part he sung alone, he should record a version of her song alone and that would sound pretty great as he has a deep voice and it would become nice. Sia sings legendary great, but together as it was recorded unexpectedly, indeed it just did not sound too well together. They should have taken turns in singing
