Flex trip is definitely the best perk! I also like per diem: I love eating out for free 😂

Hahahaha, yeah, some firms and clients let you expense 100% but you would need to show receipt and you get reimbursed for the exact amount you paid for! I usually like that for the more expensive dinners.

Chase Sapphire is clutch 💸 Also for a second I thought this was your new apartment and I was like wow aesthetic change 😮do you think consultants will travel as much post-covid considering companies are still showing productivity when working remotely?

Hahahaha, do you have the CSR or CSP? Nah, I wish. Hopefully moving next month! As for travel, I honestly don’t think we will be traveling as much though we still will travel for things that are better for us in person (like discovery sessions). Many of my projects are designed to go remote minus that part because you also want to build trust with the client, especially in the beginning! Usually onsite and in person!

Hi, does Accenture give you the AMEX platinum card/Chase Sapphire reserve card or do you have to pay for card fee?
@ChristineWong
@ChristineWong 3 жыл бұрын
They don’t, they give the Amex Green card corporate. I would much prefer to have my own card though so you can get the full benefits and your points and membership move with you wherever you go and not have to return it after leaving the job. Corporate credit cards also use a different credit score as well so it doesn’t help with building credit if you’re early in your career.

Most people end up using their personal cards so they keep the points and they can use the cards for their own personal use too unless they expense so much that they want you to expense via corporate credit card. Typically this goes with the executives.

Hey Christine, awesome vid! Just wondering where you went to college for management consulting? I’m a high school student and consulting is my dream profession but I’ve heard you basically need to go to a really elite school to have a chance at employment
@ChristineWong

I went to Boston University studying business concentrating in finance, management information systems, and strategy & innovation! There is no real “major” for consulting. Depending on what you want to do, that’s what you want to go for. For example, a tech background and education would help for tech consulting or business background and education would help for management consulting. But even so you don’t NEED those backgrounds to pursue those roles because you can always prepare and learn outside of your schooling with internships, extracurricular activities, and self learning. You also don’t need to go to a really elite school for a chance of employment! Make the most of your education, network heavily, and try to pursue leadership roles in organizations at school. An elite school or a “target or feeder school” definitely helps as consulting firms recruit directly from there but not necessary.

For most consulting firms, after your first entry level job, no one cares about your school and GPA. Then you’re basically on the same level as everyone else but you will be compared against others’ work experience and background with certifications, experience, and skills.
