all predators have mental problems, most of them are victims themselves. as disgusting as they might have become, they too, were once innocent children at some point. With a very small number of exceptions in those with severe Neurodivergencies in their brains. Not advocating for mercy just some food for thought. Don't tell me you never thought about hurting someone when you were upset or hurt, those of us who have been victimized (me too) have that pain inside us, the strong ones don't let it become an excuse for us to do horrible things, these monsters did that.

I get why these groups pretend to be younger people to catch people out but the way they confront them, wearing balaclavas, bullet proof vests and being so aggressive, calling them names and shouting at them in the middle of the street isn't the right way to go about it. A lot of these groups have been blamed and prosecuted for people committing suicide due to the way they handle things, most of them aren't trained in anything to do with this let alone how to handle a very serious subject. Don't get me wrong, keep doing it but get the training to handle it better and as soon as you catch them, get the police.
@SoulDelSol9 ай бұрын
Ya there are downsides to their approach. It blocks existing investigations, allows them time to destroy evidence (being tipped off essentially), and allows kidnappers to relocate trafficked victims. It also could result in violence during confrontation. Shouting in street is them acting on emotion rather than logic. There needs to be rationality about approach. They just can't separate their emotions out of it with the public shaming. It may be their countertransference and working through their own trauma by standing up to an abuser now that they're an adult (not their abuser, placeholder). They don't think of downstream effects though

Actually you’re wrong. Try Chris Hansen’s original team and the network were sued by one caught guy’s family. It was settled OUT OF COURT. The guy was the DA of the town he was busted in, so he shot himself. So are you implying these predators (or stupid opportunists) are all committing suicide when busted by cops? Lmao that’s RIDICULOUS. And if someone chooses to off themselves rather than face the consequences…. whose fault is that? The people that catch him? The point you’re missing is the sheer huge numbers of guys (primarily) caught. It’s non stop. I’m betting most of these guys aren’t hardcore child predators, but stupid guys who’ll jump on the chance to have sex, with anyone no matter a minor. They DON’T CARE if it mentally screws up a kid. And it’s ILLEGAL to talk sexually to a MINOR, in person on online. Are they any better than the hardcore predator that only wants little kids? It’s sad to say, but guys (primarily) have abused the internet and ruined kids since SM started. It’s about damn time they realize they CAN get BUSTED. Something HAD to be done. That goes the same for online scammers stealing money from people. The teams that bust those scammers don’t bother you… do they? The internet isn’t nor should it be viewed as the place one can go to do any number of crimes anonymously and get away with it. If someone is so unstable they’d actually attempt self harm when caught committing a FELONY, they would’ve done that at some point regardless.

I hate when people use the excuse that they are trying to mentor kids. I have actually mentored kids that were several of my friends kids as I grew up with a lot of the same issues they are currently facing. I have always made sure if they wanted to talk that the door was open and their parents were home. Sometimes they wanted to close the door to tell me something that they didn't want their dad to hear and I had to be like " no, leave it open and just whisper it to me." If they wanted to text me I made them do it on a parent's phone and if they texted me from their phone against my wishes their parents could at anytime ask to read the texts. Of course my friends trust me with their kids and they say it's not necessary but I insist because I never want to have a situation appear because of guys like this. No one who is genuinely interested in helping kids would want to keep anything private from parents or other adults that care about them. It helps them a lot because I am able to talk to the parents about certain issues from the viewpoint of the kid having the issue and how to deal with it as an adult that they face as parents.
