Perfect film. My favorite couple is the one that talks over each other. So adorable, haha. But they're all great. "What'd I say?" haha. "I knew the way you know about a good melon.". "We married 55 years." Ugh. I'm not crying. You're crying.

My parents often spoke like this - - same thing at the same time, without listening to each other. Not this old. Mom passed away two years ago. I laughed at the couple at 2.10. Reminded me of Dad.

Fun fact: the couples are actually just actors re-telling stories of how actual elderly couples director Rob Reiner interviewed fell in love. I think it's still pretty sweet though. It gives all of us hopeless romantics a sense of wonder for the 'forever' we always knew we wanted. And, it makes the movie (which was already so so so amazing) even better.
@matthewsawczyn65924 жыл бұрын
As wonderful as the actors as, I do wonder just how sweet it would be to see the actual people recount their stories
@joannlitt76894 жыл бұрын
@@matthewsawczyn6592 i think they tried to have the actual people do it on camera and they just couldn't get it to work. Some of them were very uncomfortable being on camera, so in the end, Reiner decided to use actors instead.

This one always reminds me of what "home" is, and that "home" is love. Even if they didn't grow up knowing each other, it can be so comforting sharing the same memories (of a time period or neighborhood) and group of people. Sharing the same culture or values may seem boring to some, but ohhh what comfort and trust of being "home."

This is one of those moments where you don’t understand the purpose of these scenes the first time you watch the movie. But when you go for a second viewing, you get the whole gist of it. And one of this classics strengths is the screenplay. You’re not just seeing random events unfold as a series of vignettes. They provide a definite story!

The second and fourth couples (high school sweethearts & born in the same hospital) are by far my favorite of all the old couples!!! But of course, they’re all great. And I love how Harry and Sally become one of the couples at the end, showing they are destined to go the distance just like the other older couples. Also the fact that she’s converted him to preferring sauce on the side like her … brilliant!

I was feeling lonely about not having a relationship and I was laying in bed, but then right as I felt that way, my dad decided to throw on this video on KZfaq without even telling him how I was feeling. I felt like it was a sign from the universe that love is out there for me. I just have to be more patient and believe that it will happen at some point. Maybe I’ll have a beautiful story to tell about it some day like these people who lived these stories in real life did.

@@SamuelBlack84 hey, please don't sell yourself short. You can definitely find someone out there for you, no matter who you are. Sometimes it's just about being patient with it, and don't think that you're the problem if you have a hard time finding it. Dating and romance in general is just really hard honestly it's hard to find someone who you're compatible with in that way and who will be loyal, but don't lose hope! There's still time

My favourite scene from my favourite rom com. One Christmas a long long time ago my late husband gave me a bound book of the script of WHMS. He used the cover of the dvd movie that was among my dvd library to put on the cover of the book. I’ve lost count the number of times I’ve watch the movie. When I look at the book I feel happy and sad at the same time. Nora Ephron was a wonderful writer of romance. RIP.😂
