I understand completely....what God has been teaching me in this season is to rest in Him and trust that He will bring the blessing when you need it most. I've prayed for a while for God to move those desires and even today I've had them but I've been reminded to wait on Him and delight myself in Him. As I surrender my questions to God and dig more into Him I find that He changes my focus I hope you will be encouraged! I don't have the answers but God does. And no matter what He is good and He works all things for your good, even if it doesn't seem so. I'll be praying for you!

It's a painful processes that no one can explain. We where designed for man/woman relationships but then sin happened. The enemies goal is to separate man and woman to destroy humanity completely. I'm seeing fewer and fewer lasting marriages as time goes on. I have seen visions of judgement coming. God has removed himself and turned us over to our own lust. We have to die to everyone and only fallow Jesus. It gets harder but God will make you stronger if your following his will. Who knows, you might find yourself married one day after you let it go.

Awwww. ❤ That is so cute to see the older generations in love. It's very precious to me. I even watched a dating show on a KZfaq channel where it featured a group of senior citizens and middle-aged people who wanted to get back into dating. It was so interesting to see. I feel you. I first met this guy late last year and took a liking in him but I didn't think too much about it. I then met him again earlier this month and I think l really like him for real. We normally meet in groups because we have mutual friends and sometimes when he visits my church. I don't know how I can show him that I like him and I hope he likes me too. We hardly talk for a long time because we are always around people so it's hard for me to tell. He invited me to his church I'm not sure if he was just being friendly or what but I told him I'll go one day. I woul love to visit his church however, since he frequent our church we might cross paths. I told some of my friends that I like him and they encouraged I initiate group outings and invite him but I'm scared.

Well, my ex dated me for 10 months. We kept it pure, prayed, went to church, etc. After taking me home to meet his family, he dumped me. I'm heartbroken. Now he wants to be friends. I've just avoided him. IMO, it's hard to go back as friends after you've been in a romantic relationship. It's going backwards. I would be so hurt, if he started talking to other women around me. I wouldn't be friends until you are fully healed. I couldn't do it.

I think at our age (I’m 38), it’s different. If you like him and he is a godly man, maybe you can get to know him. I also have an ill husband and God’s been preparing my heart after 15 years of marriage. Tread carefully and prayerfully, but God could be placing you in a very sweet and loving relationship? If you were 21 and he was 18 years older, one might think he’s chasing your youth and beauty…and using you as a trophy. This sounds different 😉

Pray to God! Ask God if this man is truly for you…God show you if this man is. I know someone in my church that his wife and him are 13 years apart and she (37 years old) was previously married before, and he was never married (24 years old). He found her interesting and prayed to God to ask for her. They got together and God has been in the center of that relationship ever since. If this guy is got you, God will align you both together but you have to pray on it first. God bless!

Women always have the ball in the court, it’s like you guys know it but can’t dribble at all. Men are simple, if he likes you then be patient. If he doesn’t like you, it’s because he doesn’t like you not because you did something wrong, I wish it was the same for us but Women are harsh that way. The only way he distanced himself is if you might have implied for him to keep his distance. If that is the case, all you have to do is imply you’re interested by asking him about his life and then mentioning to him why he hasn’t been reaching out as much as he used to. Depending on what he says all you have to say is I would like for us to keep in touch, maybe we should do a bible study over some coffee. Or he will accept but insist in doing it exclusively as friends, a good man is direct. If you want a less direct approach simply ask him about his day and then just say we should keep in touch more often and based on how he responds to that then it will either be a green or red flag. Approach him, it’s that simple. You don’t throw yourself at him, just simply make conversation and introduce yourself to see how he responds afterwards. Now it’s up to him, you did your job. also, speaking for myself.. I would prob. not be asking a girl from church or where you will meet up later on, to hang out/ show interest in that way if i see no interest from her first, apart from normal conversation.. like subtle signs. @@M.M.49 From my understanding you should heal first if you are still struggling from a past boyfriend or relationship. Can you elaborate on “upfront”? If he showed interest by expressing that he likes you and invited you on a date and that reminds you of past troubles then you might not be ready to date. The fact that you are questioning your Christian character means that you need to heal and talk to your pastor or Church friends, anyone you can confide in to give you perspective on your doubt. If your past sin continues to haunt you then you haven’t matured yet as a Christian because there is no such thing as Christian enough, you either are or aren’t. Maybe you should prioritize your walk in Christ first before you start dating. Just because you stumble in your faith it doesn’t mean you are a bad Christian as long as you have a repentant heart, read the word, and pray on it. The way I see it now you might have done the right thing but it shouldn’t be based on your past experiences. You are a new creation in Christ, if you believe a relationship can hinder your growth in Christ then continue to pursue the faith until you feel right to date again. You should only open up to a man when you begin to trust him after dating him for a while. I wouldn’t recommend you tell him up front because he can use that to manipulate you. A man of God will probably keep his distance at first if you were upfront about it, but if he is interested, he will pray for you and keep in touch with you from time to time. But don’t tell him that you rejected him because of past trauma, only after you begin to date him for a while then you can reveal those feelings. I would say that you be friends with the guy and tell him you aren’t ready to date because you are in your walk with Christ. If he desires you as a man of God then be patient and the Lord will make it happen. You guys can message each other and go out with other people in Church and participate in events. Eventually the two of you will be together if it is meant to be. Pray on it and talk to those you trust, I am giving you my opinion. I find myself in a similar situation where a woman rejected me because she was divorced. I still like her, and I talk to her from time to time. Time itself will determine if we can be, I will be patient and ask her again, if she declines my offer once more then know we are just friends for good.

I think I was not ready back then but I did feel a pull to the inside and the faith of this guy, he talked about what he wishes for in general to me (being married until death, having children and plans for his career, finding similarities etc.,) and asked me many questions, he seemed smitten and excited but didn’t ask me out- since I was slowing him down and kept my distance. We talked about faith instead and I started a reading group and invited him to it, since I wanted to get to know him better, & now we decided what to read next, so we write from time to time and what he sends me brings me closer to God. I feel like I am learning from him and I shall be patient until we meet again. I got sick and he wrote to me he will pray for me & send me some texts to help me with my suffering. You are right, he will ask me out, if he is serious and I have more time to heal and grow in the meantime. God will bring us together if he is the right person. I wish you the best for whoever will become your wife in the future!

This fast sharing of wishes for the future and compatibility was what happened to me before and “broke my heart” and some of my trust, so I want this to be slow and not make wrong decisions.

I'm a chick. I'm pursuing excellence in my career, I'm pursuing better physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. I recognize that some words are red flags for some folks, but this word can be used safely in many different contexts without referencing hunting. Also, dating is hard for all people... I think being a believer makes it a tad harder. Not everyone has every single area of their life perfected, so maybe don't write someone off for one red flag.

I actually see nothing wrong with his use of the word “pursue”. I think he does a good job of teaching, it’s just your perception of it. Not everything he says in the way he says it will be to everyone’s liking.
