I'm a U.S. citizen and I can tell you from experience that the political elite in the U.S. suffers from a superiority complex. The West, and the U.S., in particular, view the world entirely different from countries like China. The U.S. sees it as its right to dominate the globe because it is powerful. Being powerful doesn't mean you should throw your weight around and be dictatorial. If you follow U.S. think tanks and security experts, they all subscribe to a great power paradigm that says great powers can and should interfer in the world to control it. There is no "live and let live" sentiment in these guys. Few people really understand what the U.S. is. Even most Americans don't know. The U.S. is a settler nation and all settler nations are founded on violence. Violence, violence, violence. Violence against the natives, violence against minorities and violence against their neighbors. Look at how many armed conflicts the U.S. has been in. I'm in my forties and the U.S. has been involved in several conflicts each decade of my life. Endless wars. "The land of the free" is b.s. There was slavery here. "Nation of immigrants" is b.s. What about the settlers, Native Americans and the Black slaves? So many lies are spread in the U.S. that it takes mental gymnastics just to see through it all. These guys won't stop. They have to BE stopped. That's why Russia responded to the encroachment of their sphere of influence with complete violence. The U.S. only understands violence, they were founded on violence.

When WW3 happens, the US is going to end up facing the manufacturing powerhouses of China AND Russia. China can build one naval ship a month, the US takes a year to construct one. Russia’s supersonic weapons will end US aircraft carrier strike groups. It won’t be pretty. The US will do well in the early days because we have such a buildup but the replacements will take years to construct.

Stupidity? It was Feudalism all along, especially in UK. The "Democracy paintjob" they applied in a hurry after the french Revolution, (to keep their people from rebelling through the Industrial Revolution), made not even the slightest difference to the meaning of the people's opinion. The Aristocracy ALWAYS got their cut from the pie. King Charles is basically renting out the Palace to himself..... never questioned that?

From this interesting discussion my understanding was that the difference between Russia and the US when it comes military production is that in Russia this is under state control. The government tells them what to do. In the US military production is privately owned. So we have large very wealthy private companies with lots of money available to influence politicians so those compliant to their requests tend to get elected and then re-elected. Since wars are very good for their business we get lots of wars.
@tnix80

The main difference between Russia and the US in military terms is manufacturing capacity. In the US, the companies have spread out so much to keep a plant in every district to build anything. So if you want a rocket build, parts for that rocket are built in 17 different states and send to an 18th state to be assembled together. In Russia, one factory builds the entire rocket. Which country can construct rockets the fastest? This is how the US manufacturing is set up and why it’s so expensive and inefficient.

Common prosperity. I believe that is the goal of everyone now. Our intellectuals have picked the data thru and fed it models that have iterated now for 80 years. Strategic ambiguity is a thing I've looked at for quite some time and is the reason behind your guest saying there building a military 1.5 million man strong but I truly think the majority of the people in the world are working toward a future of peace and stability . That's the outcome that's being supported by the global institutions while they work to clear the corruptions that are inherant in any complex system. Ambiguity is a tool to trip the wires of corruption and see it to where it belongs. That's the fight we're engaged in and it's my hope that we can rise above our nationalism to do the right thing by the evolution off the global order as it's evolving. It's the stuff off asceticism and the self disciplined minds that make our words safe. All the best everyone...

Some years ago Putin said in a speech that without order only military force orders the world. I wondered from that if his game plan was to sow trust for Russia all around the world by showing her to be a totally reliable and trustable partner in business arrangements. Back then Putin was also said to the be the hardest-working national leader in the world, travelling everywhere where nations were willing to establish diplomatic ties and talk business. Now Russia has the status, respect and status that it merits and the world also sees that Putin is a man of his word in how he warned, for years, about the war that NATO expansion would lead to if the West did not negotiate a non-military agreement with Russia. His warnings are valid, and he comes through on his word. So it would seem the trust and credibility goal is materializing quite substantially both for Russia as an international partner and also that trust is becoming the ordering force for a growing majority of the world's nations. He also stated through those earlier years that Russia did not want to be a superpower but obviously the untrustable forces of the world have forced her into taking such a position nonetheless as America's treachery has taken itself and its allies down. It is amazing, as Mr. Martyanov says, to see this happening before our eyes in real time.

I have worked closely with Top CEO’s of USA and the management style they arw tought by Harvard, Stanford, and the likes is the same practice on the Navy, Army etc. The results are based on 90 days ROI windows, abd it has ni regard for the law or ethics, is what the Chief wants $nnn only. You can see the results on what is left of the industrial base of the USA and how we conduct Foreign policy. our next generation is screwed totally and they do not carw 😢. very sad for my children

No, I mean don’t spend any money at any USA or Israeli corporation. That way they can’t afford war. @@istudios225 and if you’re really brave, cancel the smartphone because that alone would make congress and parliament 💩 their pants 💪🏻👵🏼

I agree with Andrey ont he part that Prof. Mearsheimer is after all an American Exceptionalist and he sees everything through the lense of american superiority and eternaltality.

Great to hear a Russian say aloud what you know FM Lavrov thinks - but being the Supreme Diplomat - would never say.

36:12 not quite, regarding the Polish people. Generally, Polish people for the most of their history considered themselves to belong to the Western Catholic civilisation, as "the bulwark of Christendom", which at the same time suggest they lived on the edge, or on the border of that civilisation. Let's say that during the centuries, the Polish people lived between the Western Europe and the Orthodox Christianity from the East and Islam (Ottoman Empire) encroaching from the South, not to mention raids and invasions by Mongols and Tatars. Interestingly, during the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, which was a large if not the largest and the most populous superpower in 16th and 17th century Europe, the need to fight different opponents from the west and from the east led to two western-style and eastern-style types of troops in the Army (including the famous and unique winged hussars). Anyway, the Poles being Slavs share some cultural and of course linguistic similarities to other Slavic nations including the further east like Ukrainians and Russians, but it appears that the main civilisational and cultural differences go along the Catholic/Orthodox split line, which is probably somewhere in Ukraine or maybe on the Polish-Ukrainian border. Regarding Ukraine, the river Dnieper seems to be division line mainly for political and also historical reasons and also Russian influence.

He's knowledgeable but not boring. He knows Americans, Russians, and the ignorant yet arrogant USneoCons running the gov't & all US presidents. He has a wider viewpoint and without bias associated with religion & race like Mearsheimer & thejew analysts & professors who are pessimistic & depressing as hell.
